Salmi 1

1 BEATO l'uomo che non è camminato nel consiglio degli empi, E non si è fermato nella via de' peccatori, E non è seduto nella sedia degli schernitori.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of people who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal·, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;

2 Anzi il cui diletto [è] nella Legge del Signore, E medita in essa giorno e notte.

but his delight is in Adonai’s Torah ·Teaching·. On his torot ·teachings· he meditates day and night.

3 Egli sarà come un albero piantato presso a ruscelli d'acque, Il quale rende il suo frutto nella sua stagione, E le cui frondi non appassano; E tutto quello ch'egli farà, prospererà.

He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.

4 Così non [saranno] già gli empi; Anzi [saranno] come pula sospinta dal vento.

The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

5 Perciò gli empi non istaranno ritti nel giudicio, Nè i peccatori nella raunanza de' giusti.

Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor people who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal· in the congregation of the upright.

6 Perciocchè il Signore conosce la via de' giusti; Ma la via degli empi perirà.

For Adonai knows the way of the upright, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
