Neemia 12
1 OR questi [sono] i sacerdoti e i Leviti, [che] salirono con Zorobabel, figliuolo di Sealtiel, e [con] Iesua: Seraia, Geremia,
These were the priests and Levites who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and with Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
2 Esdra, Amaria, Malluc,
Amariah, Malluk, Hattush,
3 Hattus, Secania, Rehum,
Shecaniah, Rehum, and Meremoth.
4 Meremot, Iddo, Ghinnetoi,
There were Iddo, Ginnethon, Abijah,
5 Abia, Miamin, Maadia,
Mijamin, Moadiah, Bilgah,
6 Bilga, Semaaia, Ioiarib,
Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah,
7 Iedaia, Sallu, Amoc, Hilchia, Iedaia. Questi erano i capi de' sacerdoti, co' lor fratelli, al tempo di Iesua.
Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the leaders of the priests and their associates in the days of Jeshua.
8 E i Leviti [erano] Iesua, Binnui, Cadmiel, Serebia, Giuda, e Mattania; il quale, co' suoi fratelli, avea la cura di [cantar le] laudi.
The Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was in charge of the thanksgiving songs, along with his associates.
9 E Bacbuchia, ed Unni, lor fratelli, [erano] contra[posti] a loro nelle mute del lor servigio.
Bakbukiah and Unni, their associates, stood opposite them during the service.
10 Or Iesua generò Ioiachim, e Ioiachim generò Eliasib, ed Eliasib generò Ioiada,
Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim was the father of Eliashib, Eliashib was the father of Joiada,
11 e Ioiada generò Gionatan, e Gionatan generò Iaddua.
Joiada was the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan was the father of Jaddua.
12 Ed al tempo di Ioiachim, i sacerdoti, capi delle [famiglie] paterne, erano [questi: ] per Seraia, Meraia; per Geremia, Hanania;
In the days of Joiakim these were the priests, the leaders of the families: Meraiah was the leader of Seraiah, Hananiah was the leader of Jeremiah,
13 per Esdra, Mesullam; per Amaria, Iohanan;
Meshullam was the leader of Ezra, Jehohanan was the leader of Amariah,
14 per Melicu, Gionatan; per Sebania, Giuseppe;
Jonathan was the leader of Malluk, and Joseph was the leader of Shebaniah.
15 per Harim, Adna; per Meraiot, Helcai;
Adna was the leader of Harim, Helkai the leader of Meremoth,
16 per Iddo, Zaccaria; per Ghinneton, Mesullam;
Zechariah was the leader of Iddo, Meshullam was the leader of Ginnethon, and
17 per Abia, Zicri; per Miniamin, e per Moadia, Piltai;
Zichri was the leader of Abijah. ... of Miniamin. Piltai was the leader of Moadiah.
18 per Bilga, Sammua, per Semaia, Gionatan;
Shammua was the leader of Bilgah, Jehonathan was the leader of Shemaiah,
19 per Ioiarib, Mattenai; per Iedaia, Uzzi;
Mattenai was the leader of Joiarib, Uzzi was the leader of Jedaiah,
20 per Sallai, Callai; per Amoc, Eber;
Kallai was the leader of Sallu, Eber was the leader of Amok,
21 per Hilchia, Hasabia; per Iedaia, Natanaele.
Hashabiah was the leader of Hilkiah, and Nethanel was the leader of Jedaiah.
22 Quant'è a' Leviti, furono descritti per li capi delle [famiglie] paterne, al tempo di Eliasib, di Ioiada, di Iohanan, e di Iaddua, insieme co' sacerdoti, fino al regno di Dario Persiano.
In the days of Eliashib, the Levites Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua were recorded as the heads of families, and the priests were recorded during the reign of Darius the Persian.
23 I figliuoli di Levi sono descritti per li capi delle [famiglie] paterne, nel libro delle Croniche, fino al tempo di Iohanan, figliuolo di Eliasib.
The descendants of Levi, their leaders of families were recorded in the book of the annals up to the days of Johanan son of Eliashib.
24 Ed i capi de' Leviti [furono] Hasabia, Serebia, e Iesua, figliuoli di Cadmiel; e i lor fratelli, appaiati con loro, per lodare, e per celebrare [Iddio], secondo l'ordine di Davide, uomo di Dio, l'una muta essendo appaiata con l'altra.
The leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their associates, who stood opposite them to give praise and to give thanks, responding section by section, in obedience to the command of David, the man of God.
25 Mattania, Bacbuchia, Obadia, Mesullam, Talmon, Accub, facevano la guardia alla soglia delle porte, [in qualità di] portinai.
Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers standing guard at the storerooms by the gates.
26 Costoro [furono] al tempo di Ioiachim, figliuolo di Iesua, figliuolo di Iosadac; ed al tempo del governatore Neemia, e del sacerdote Esdra, scriba.
They served in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest and scribe.
27 OR nella dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme, si ricercarono i Leviti da tutti i luoghi loro, per farli venire in Gerusalemme, per far la dedicazione con allegrezza, con laudi, e cantici, [con] cembali, e salteri, e cetere.
At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the people sought out the Levites wherever they lived, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with joy, with thanksgivings and singing with cymbals, harps, and with lyres.
28 E furono adunati i figliuoli de' cantori, così dalla pianura d'intorno a Gerusalemme, come dalle villate de' Netofatiti;
The fellowship of singers gathered together from the district around Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites.
29 e da Bet-ghilgal, e da' contadi di Gheba, e d'Azmavet; perciocchè i cantori si aveano edificate delle ville d'intorno a Gerusalemme.
They also came from Beth Gilgal and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.
30 E i sacerdoti e i Leviti si purificarono; ed anche purificarono il popolo, e le porte, e le mura.
The priests and the Levites purified themselves, and then they purified the people, the gates, and the wall.
31 Poi io feci salire sopra il muro i capi di Giuda, ed ordinai due grandi schiere, che cantavano le laudi di Dio; e l'una di quelle processioni trasse a [man] destra, disopra il muro, verso la porta del letame.
Then I had the leaders of Judah go up to the top of the wall, and I appointed two large choirs who gave thanks. One went to the right on the wall toward the Dung Gate.
32 Ed appresso quelli camminava Hosaia, e la metà de' capi di Giuda,
Hoshaiah and half the leaders of Judah followed them,
33 ed Azaria, Esdra, Mesullam, Giuda,
and after them went Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,
34 Beniamino, Semaia, e Geremia;
Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah,
35 e de' figliuoli de' sacerdoti, con le trombe: Zaccaria, figliuolo di Gionatan, figliuolo di Semaia, figliuolo di Mattania, figliuolo di Micaia, figliuolo di Zaccur, figliuolo di Asaf;
and some of the priests' sons with trumpets, and Zechariah son of Jonathan son of Shemaiah son of Mattaniah son of Micaiah son of Zaccur son of Asaph.
36 co' suoi fratelli, Semaia, Azareel, Milalai, Ghilalai, Maai, Natanaele, Giuda, [ed] Hanani, con gli strumenti musicali di Davide, uomo di Dio, ed Esdra, scriba, [camminava] davanti a loro.
There also were Zechariah's relatives, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God. Ezra the scribe was in front of them.
37 Ed essendo [giunti] alla porta della fonte, salirono al diritto davanti a loro a' gradi della Città di Davide, per la salita del muro, disopra alla casa di Davide; e pervennero fino alla porta delle acque, verso Oriente.
By the Fountain Gate they went straight up on the stairs of the city of David, by the stairway to the wall above David's palace, to the Water Gate on the east.
38 E la seconda schiera di quelli che cantavano le laudi [di Dio] camminava dal lato opposto, ed io appresso ad essa, con l'altra metà del popolo, sopra il muro, disopra alla torre de' forni, fino al muro largo;
The other choir of those who gave thanks went in the other direction. I followed them on the wall with half the people, above the Tower of Ovens, to the Broad Wall,
39 e disopra alla porta di Efraim, e disopra alla porta vecchia, ed alla porta de' pesci, ed alla torre di Hananeel, ed alla torre di Cento, fino alla porta delle pecore; e [quella schiera] si fermò alla porta della carcere.
and above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate, and by the Fish Gate and the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of the Hundred, to the Sheep Gate, and they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.
40 Poi quelle due schiere di quelli che cantavano le laudi [di Dio] si fermarono nella Casa di Dio;
So both choirs of those who gave thanks took their place in the house of God, and I also took my place with half of the officials with me.
41 ed io ancora, con la metà de' magistrati, e i sacerdoti Eliachim, Maaseia, Miniamin, Micaia, Elioenai, Zaccaria, ed Hanania, con le trombe;
Then the priests took their place: Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with the trumpets,
42 e Maaseia, e Semaia, ed Eleazaro, ed Uzzi, e Iohanan, e Malchia, ed Elam, ed Ezer. I cantori cantavano anch'essi ad alta voce, ed Israhia [era] il sopraintendente.
and also Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer, and the singers made themselves heard and Jezrahiah was their leader.
43 E in quel giorno [il popolo] sacrificò di gran sacrificii, e si rallegrò; perciocchè Iddio gli avea data gran letizia; le donne eziandio, ed i fanciulli, si rallegrarono; talchè l'allegrezza di Gerusalemme fu udita fin da lungi.
They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy. Also the women and the children rejoiced. So the joy of Jerusalem could be heard far away.
44 IN quel giorno ancora furono costituiti uomini sopra le camere dei magazzini delle offerte, primizie, e decime, per raccogliere in esse, dal contado della città, le porzioni [assegnate per] la Legge a' sacerdoti, ed a' Leviti; perciocchè Giuda ebbe una grande allegrezza per cagione de' sacerdoti e dei Leviti che stavano al loro ufficio;
On that day men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms for the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the law for the priests and for the Levites. Each was assigned to work the fields near the towns. For Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who were standing before them.
45 ed aveano osservato ciò che l'Iddio loro avea loro comandato d'osservare, e l'osservanza della purificazione. Come ancora i cantori, e i portinai, secondo il comandamento di Davide, [e] di Salomone, suo figliuolo;
They performed the service of their God, and the service of purification, and so did the singers and the gatekeepers, in keeping with the command of David and of Solomon his son.
46 perciocchè anticamente, al tempo di Davide, e di Asaf, [erano stati costituiti] i capi de' cantori, e la musica da lodare, e celebrare Iddio.
For long ago, in the days of David and Asaph, there were directors of singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47 E però, al tempo di Zorobabel, e al tempo di Neemia, tutto Israele dava le porzioni [assegnate] a' cantori, ed a' portinai, giorno per giorno; così [le] consacravano a' Leviti, e i Leviti [le] consacravano ai figliuoli d'Aaronne.
In the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah, all Israel gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers. They set aside the portion that was for the Levites, and the Levites set aside a portion for the descendants of Aaron.
