Giosué 21
1 OR i Capi delle [nazioni] paterne dei Leviti vennero al Sacerdote Eleazaro, e a Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, e ai Capi delle [nazioni] paterne delle tribù de' figliuoli d'Israele;
Then the heads of the families of the Levites came to Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun, and to the heads of families of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2 e parlarono loro, in Silo, nel paese di Canaan, dicendo: Il Signore comandò per Mosè, che ci fossero date delle città da abitare, insieme co' lor contorni per lo nostro bestiame.
And said to them in Shiloh in the land of Canaan, The Lord gave orders by Moses that we were to have towns for living in, with their grass-lands for our cattle.
3 E i figliuoli d'Israele diedero della loro eredità a' Leviti, secondo il comandamento del Signore, queste città co' lor contorni.
And the children of Israel out of their heritage gave to the Levites these towns with their grass-lands, by the order of the Lord.
4 E la sorte essendo tratta per le nazioni de' Chehatiti, scaddero a sorte a' figliuoli del Sacerdote Aaronne, d'infra i Leviti, tredici città della tribù di Giuda, e della tribù di Simeone, e della tribù di Beniamino.
And the heritage came out for the families of the Kohathites: the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, were given thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
5 E al rimanente de' figliuoli di Chehat, [scaddero] a sorte dieci città delle nazioni della tribù di Efraim, e della tribù di Dan, e della mezza tribù di Manasse.
The rest of the children of Kohath by their families were given ten towns from the tribes of Ephraim and Dan and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
6 E a' figliuoli di Gherson [scaddero] a sorte tredici città delle nazioni della tribù d'Issacar, e della tribù di Aser, e della tribù di Neftali, e della mezza tribù di Manasse, in Basan.
The children of Gershon by their families were given thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar and Asher and Naphtali and the half-tribe of Manasseh which was in Bashan.
7 Ai figliuoli di Merari, secondo le lor nazioni, [scaddero] dodici città, della tribù di Ruben, e della tribù di Gad, e della tribù di Zabulon.
The children of Merari by their families were given twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Zebulun.
8 I figliuoli d'Israele adunque diedero queste città, co' lor contorni, a' Leviti a sorte; come il Signore avea comandato per Mosè.
All these towns with their grass-lands the children of Israel gave by the decision of the Lord to the Levites, as the Lord had given orders by Moses.
9 Diedero, dico, della tribù de' figliuoli di Giuda, e della tribù de' figliuoli di Simeone, queste città, che saranno nominate per nome;
From the tribes of the children of Judah and the children of Simeon they gave these towns, listed here by name:
10 le quali i figliuoli di Aaronne, d'infra le nazioni de' Chehatiti, d'infra i figliuoli di Levi, ebbero; perciocchè la prima sorte fu per loro.
These were for the children of Aaron among the families of the Kohathites, of the children of Levi: for they came first in the distribution.
11 Diedero adunque loro la città di Arba, padre di Anac, [che] è Hebron, nel monte di Giuda, co' suoi contorni.
They gave them Kiriath-arba, the town of Arba, the father of Anak, (which is Hebron) in the hill-country of Judah, with its grass-lands.
12 Ma diedero il territorio della città, e le sue villate, a Caleb, figliuolo di Gefunne, per sua possessione.
But the open country round the town, and its unwalled places, they gave to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, as his property.
13 Così diedero a' figliuoli del Sacerdote Aaronne la città del rifugio dell'ucciditore, [cioè] Hebron e i suoi contorni; e Lebna, e i suoi contorni;
And to the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with its grass-lands, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Libnah with its grass-lands;
14 e Iattir e i suoi contorni; ed Estemoa e i suoi contorni;
And Jattir with its grass-lands, and Eshtemoa with its grass-lands;
15 e Holon e i suoi contorni; e Debir e i suoi contorni;
And Holon with its grass-lands, and Debir with its grass-lands;
16 e Ain e i suoi contorni; e Iutta e i suoi contorni; e Bet-semes e i suoi contorni; nove città di queste due tribù.
And Ain, and Juttah, and Beth-shemesh, with their grass-lands; nine towns from those two tribes.
17 E della tribù di Beniamino, Ghibon e i suoi contorni; Gheba e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Benjamin they gave Gibeon and Geba with their grass-lands;
18 Anatot e i suoi contorni; e Almon e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Anathoth and Almon with their grass-lands, four towns.
19 Tutte le città de' figliuoli di Aaronne, sacerdoti, [furono] tredici città co' lor contorni.
Thirteen towns with their grass-lands were given to the children of Aaron, the priests.
20 Poi le nazioni de' figliuoli di Chehat, Leviti, [cioè], il rimanente de' figliuoli di Chehat, ebbero le città della lor sorte della tribù di Efraim.
The rest of the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, were given towns from the tribe of Ephraim.
21 E furono loro date, la città del rifugio dell'ucciditore, [cioè: ] Sichem e i suoi contorni, nel monte di Efraim; e Ghezer e i suoi contorni; e Chibsaim e i suoi contorni;
And they gave them Shechem with its grass-lands in the hill-country of Ephraim, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Gezer with its grass-lands;
22 e Bet-horon e i suoi contorni; quattro città;
And Kibzaim and Beth-horon with their grass-lands, four towns.
23 e della tribù di Dan, Elteche e i suoi contorni; Ghibbeton e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Dan, Elteke and Gibbethon with their grass-lands;
24 Aialon, e i suoi contorni; Gat-rimmon e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Aijalon and Gath-rimmon with their grass-lands, four towns.
25 E della mezza tribù di Manasse, Taanac e i suoi contorni; e Gat-rimmon e i suoi contorni; due città.
And from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and Gath-rimmon with their grass-lands, two towns.
26 Tutte le città del rimanente delle nazioni de' figliuoli di Chehat [furono] dieci, co' lor contorni.
All the towns of the rest of the families of the children of Kohath were ten with their grass-lands.
27 Poi a' figliuoli di Gherson, [ch'erano] delle nazioni de' Leviti, [furono date] della mezza tribù di Manasse, la città del rifugio dell'ucciditore, [cioè: ] Golan in Basan e i suoi contorni; e Beestera e i suoi contorni; due città.
And to the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, they gave from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its grass-lands, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Ashtaroth with its grass-lands, two towns.
28 E della tribù d'Issacar, Chision e i suoi contorni; Dabrat e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion and Daberath with their grass-lands;
29 Iarmut e i suoi contorni; ed En-gannim e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Jarmuth and En-gannim with their grass-lands, four towns.
30 E della tribù di Aser, Miseal e i suoi contorni; Abdon e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Asher, Mishal and Abdon, with their grass-lands:
31 Helcat e i suoi contorni; e Rehob e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Helkath and Rehob with their grass-lands, four towns.
32 E della tribù di Neftali, la città del rifugio dell'ucciditore, [cioè: ] Chedes in Galilea e i suoi contorni; Hammot-dor e i suoi contorni; e Cartan e i suoi contorni; tre città.
And from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its grass-lands, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Hammoth-dor and Kartan with their grass-lands, three towns.
33 Tutte le città dei Ghersoniti, secondo le lor nazioni, [furono] tredici, co' lor contorni.
All the towns of the Gershonites with their families were thirteen with their grass-lands.
34 Poi alle nazioni de' figliuoli di Merari, [ch'erano] il rimanente de' Leviti, [furono date] della tribù di Zabulon, Iocneam e i suoi contorni; Carta e i suoi contorni;
And to the rest of the Levites, that is, the families of the children of Merari, they gave from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and Kartah with their grass-lands;
35 Dimna e i suoi contorni; Nahalal e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Dimnah and Nahalal with their grass-lands, four towns.
36 E della tribù di Ruben, Beser e i suoi contorni; e Iasa e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer and Jahaz with their grass-lands;
37 Chedemot e i suoi contorni; e Mefaat e i suoi contorni; quattro città.
Kedemoth and Mephaath with their grass-lands, four towns.
38 E della tribù di Gad, la città del rifugio dell'ucciditore, [cioè: ] Ramot in Galaad e i suoi contorni; e Mahanaim e i suoi contorni;
And from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead, the town where the taker of life might be safe, and Mahanaim with their grass-lands;
39 Hesbon e i suoi contorni; Iazer e i suoi contorni; in tutto quattro città.
Heshbon and Jazer with their grass-lands, four towns.
40 Tutte quelle città [furono date] a' figliuoli di Merari, secondo le lor nazioni, [ch'erano] il rimanente delle nazioni, de' Leviti; e la lor sorte fu di dodici città.
All these towns were given to the children of Merari by their families, that is, the rest of the families of the Levites; and their heritage was twelve towns.
41 Tutte le città de' Leviti, per mezzo la possessione de' figliuoli d'Israele, [furono] quarantotto, co' lor contorni.
All the towns of the Levites, among the heritage of the children of Israel, were forty-eight towns with their grass-lands.
42 Ciascuna di queste città avea i suoi contorni; e così [fu osservato] in tutte quelle città.
Every one of these towns had grass-lands round it.
43 Il Signore adunque diede ad Israele tutto il paese ch'egli aveva giurato ai padri loro di dar loro; e i [figliuoli d'Israele] ne presero la possessione, e abitarono in esso.
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land which he gave by oath to their fathers; so it became their heritage and their living-place.
44 E il Signore diede loro riposo d'ogn'intorno, interamente come avea giurato a' lor padri; e niuno, d'infra tutti i lor nemici, potè stare a fronte a loro: il Signore diede loro nelle mani tutti i lor nemici.
And the Lord gave them peace on every side, as he had said to their fathers: all those who were against them gave way before them, for the Lord gave them all up into their hands.
45 Ei non cadde a terra pure una parola di tutto il bene che il Signore avea detto alla casa d'Israele; ogni cosa avvenne.
The Lord kept faith with the house of Israel about all the good which he said he would do for them, and all his words came true.
