Isaia 61

1 LO Spirito del Signore Iddio [è] sopra di me; perciocchè il Signore mi ha unto, per annunziar le buone novelle a' mansueti; mi ha mandato, per fasciar quelli che hanno il cuor rotto; per bandir libertà a quelli che sono in cattività, ed apertura di carcere a' prigioni;

The spirit of My Lord Yahweh, is upon me, —Because Yahweh Hath anointed me to tell good tidings to the oppressed, Hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, To proclaim To captives, liberty, To them who are bound, the opening of the prison;

2 per pubblicar l'anno della benevolenza del Signore, e il giorno della vendetta del nostro Dio; per consolar tutti quelli che fanno cordoglio;

To proclaim—The year of acceptance of Yahweh, and The day of avenging of our God: To comfort all who are mourning;

3 per proporre a quelli di Sion che fanno cordoglio, che sarà lor data una corona di gloria in luogo di cenere, olio di allegrezza in luogo di duolo, ammanto di lode in luogo di spirito angustiato; e che saranno chiamati: Querce di giustizia, piante che il Signore ha piantate, per glorificar sè stesso.

To appoint unto the mourners of Zion—To give unto them A chaplet instead of ashes, The oil of joy instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of the spirit of dejection, —So shall they be called The oaks of righteousness, The plantation of Yahweh: That he may get himself glory

4 E riedificheranno i luoghi desolati già da lungo tempo, [e] ridirizzeranno le ruine antiche, rinnoveranno le città desolate, e i disertamenti di molte età [addietro].

Then shall they build the wastes of a bygone age, The desolations of former times, shall they raise up, —And they shall build anew—The cities laid waste, The desolations of generation after generation.

5 E gli stranieri staranno in piè, e pastureranno le vostre gregge; e i figliuoli de' forestieri [saranno] i vostri agricoltori, e i vostri vignaiuoli.

Then shall strangers stay and feed your flocks, —And, the sons of the foreigner, shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

6 E voi sarete chiamati: Sacerdoti del Signore, e sarete nominati: Ministri dell'Iddio nostro; voi mangerete le facoltà delle genti, e vi farete magnifici della lor gloria.

But, ye, the priests of Yahweh, shall be called, The attendants of our God, shall ye be named, —The riches of the nations, shall ye eat, And in their glory, shall ye boast yourselves.

7 In luogo della vostra confusione, [avrete] il doppio; e [invece dell]'ignominia, giubileranno nella loro porzione; perciò erederanno il doppio nel lor paese [ed] avranno allegrezza eterna.

Instead of your shame, —double! and Instead of disgrace, they shall shout in triumph over their portion, —Therefore in their own land, shall they possess double, Joy age-abiding, shall be theirs.

8 Perciocchè io [sono] il Signore, che amo la dirittura, e odio la rapina con l'olocausto; e darò loro il lor premio in verità, e farò con loro un patto eterno.

For, I, Yahweh, am a lover of justice, Hating plunder, for an ascending-sacrifice, Therefore will I give their reward with faithfulness, And an age-abiding covenant, will I solemnise for them.

9 E la lor progenie sarà riconosciuta fra le genti, e i lor discendenti in mezzo de' popoli; tutti quelli che li vedranno riconosceranno che quelli [son] la progenie [che il] Signore ha benedetta.

Then shall be known among the nations, their seed, And, their offspring, in the midst of the peoples, —All who see them, shall acknowledge them, That, they, are the seed that Yahweh hath blessed.

10 Io mi rallegrerò di grande allegrezza nel Signore, l'anima mia festeggerà nell'Iddio mio; perciocchè egli mi ha vestita di vestimenti di salute, mi ha ammantata dell'ammanto di giustizia; a guisa di sposo adorno di corona, ed a guisa di sposa acconcia co' suoi corredi.

I will, greatly rejoice, in Yahweh, My soul shall exult in my God, For he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, With a robe of righteousness, hath he enwrapt me, —As a bridegroom, adorneth himself with, a chaplet, And as a bride, bedecketh herself with, her jewels.

11 Perciocchè, siccome la terra produce il suo germoglio, e come un orto fa germinar le cose che vi son seminate; così il Signore Iddio farà germogliar la giustizia e la lode, nel cospetto di tutte le genti.

For as the earth, bringeth forth her bud, And as, a garden, causeth her seeds, to shoot forth, So, My Lord, Yahweh, will cause to shoot forth Righteousness and praise before all the nations.
