Isaia 40
1 CONSOLATE, consolate il mio popolo, dirà il vostro Dio.

2 Parlate al cuor di Gerusalemme, e predicatele che il suo termine è compiuto, che la sua iniquità è quietata; perchè ella ha ricevuto dalla mano del Signore [il castigo] di tutti i suoi peccati al doppio.

3 [Vi è] una voce d'uno che grida: Acconciate nel deserto la via del Signore, addirizzate per la solitudine la strada all'Iddio nostro.
voice to call: call out in/on/with wilderness to turn way: road LORD to smooth in/on/with plain highway to/for God our
4 Ogni valle sia alzata, ed ogni monte e colle sia abbassato; e sieno i luoghi distorti ridirizzati, e i luoghi erti ridotti in pianura.
all valley to lift: raise and all mountain: mount and hill to abase and to be [the] steep to/for plain and [the] roughness to/for valley
5 E la gloria del Signore si manifesterà, ed ogni carne [la] vedrà; perciocchè la bocca del Signore ha parlato.
and to reveal: reveal glory LORD and to see: see all flesh together for lip LORD to speak: speak
6 [Vi è] una voce che dice: Grida. Ed è stato detto: Che griderò? [Grida, che] ogni carne [è] fieno, e che tutto il bene ch'ella fa [è] come un fiore della campagna.
voice to say to call: call out and to say what? to call: call out all [the] flesh grass and all kindness his like/as flower [the] land: country
7 Il fieno si secca, il fiore si appassa, quando lo Spirito del Signore vi soffia contra; in verità il popolo [non è altro che] fieno.
to wither grass to wither flower for spirit: breath LORD to blow in/on/with him surely grass [the] people
8 Il fieno si secca, il fiore si appassa; ma la parola di Dio dimora in eterno.
to wither grass to wither flower and word God our to arise: establish to/for forever: enduring
9 O Sion, che rechi le buone novelle, sali sopra un alto monte; o Gerusalemme, che rechi le buone novelle, alza di forza la tua voce; alzala, non temere; di' alle città di Giuda: Ecco l'Iddio vostro.

10 Ecco, il Signore Iddio verrà contro al forte, e il suo braccio lo signoreggerà; ecco, la sua mercede [è] con lui, e la sua opera [è] dinanzi alla sua faccia.

12 CHI ha misurate le acque col pugno, e chi ha fatto il conto [dello spazio] del cielo con la spanna, ed ha compresa la polvere della terra in una misura, ed ha pesati i monti con la stadera, e i colli con la bilancia?
who? to measure in/on/with handful his water and heaven in/on/with span to measure and to sustain in/on/with third dust [the] land: country/planet and to weigh in/on/with balance mountain: mount and hill in/on/with balance
13 Chi ha addirizzato lo Spirito del Signore? [o chi è stato] suo consigliere, e chi gli ha insegnata [alcuna cosa]?
who? to measure [obj] spirit LORD and man counsel his to know him
14 Con chi si [è] egli consigliato, e [chi] l'ha avvisato, o [chi] l'ha ammaestrato nel sentier del giudicio? e [chi] gli ha insegnata scienza, o mostrata la via degl'intendimenti?
with who? to advise and to understand him and to learn: teach him in/on/with way justice and to learn: teach him knowledge and way: conduct understanding to know him
15 Ecco, le genti [sono] come una gocciola della secchia, e son reputate come la polvere minuta delle bilance; ecco, egli può trasportar le isole di luogo in luogo, come polvere minuta.
look! nation like/as drop from bucket and like/as cloud balance to devise: count look! coastland like/as thin to lift
16 E il Libano non basterebbe per lo fuoco, e le bestie che sono in quello non basterebbero per l'olocausto.
and Lebanon nothing sufficiency to burn: burn and living thing his nothing sufficiency burnt offering
17 Tutte le genti [sono] come un niente nel suo cospetto; son da lui reputate men di nulla, e per una vanità.
all [the] nation like/as nothing before him from end and formlessness to devise: count to/for him
18 Ed a cui assomigliereste Iddio, e qual sembianza gli adattereste?
and to(wards) who? to resemble [emph?] God and what? likeness to arrange to/for him
19 Il fabbro fonde la scultura, e l'orafo vi distende su l'oro, da coprirla; e le fonde de' cancelli di argento.

20 Colui che fa povera offerta sceglie un legno [che] non intarli; egli si cerca un artefice industrioso, per formargli una scultura che non si muove.
[the] to impoverish contribution tree: wood not to rot to choose artificer wise to seek to/for him to/for to establish: establish idol not to shake
21 Non avete voi alcun conoscimento? non ascoltate voi? [la cosa] non vi è ella stata dichiarata fin dal principio? non intendete voi come la terra è stata fondata?
not to know not to hear: hear not to tell from head: first to/for you not to understand foundation [the] land: country/planet
22 [Egli è quel] che siede sopra il globo della terra, ed [a cui] gli abitanti di essa [sono] come locuste; che stende i cieli come una tela, e li tende come una tenda da abitare;
[the] to dwell upon circle [the] land: country/planet and to dwell her like/as locust [the] to stretch like/as curtain heaven and to spread them like/as tent to/for to dwell
23 che riduce i principi a niente, [e] fa che i rettori della terra son come una cosa vana;
[the] to give: make to rule to/for nothing to judge land: country/planet like/as formlessness to make
24 [come se] non fossero pure stati piantati, nè pur seminati, o che il lor ceppo non fosse pure stato radicato in terra; sol che soffi contro a loro, si seccano, e il turbo li porta via come stoppia.
also not to plant also not to sow also not to uproot in/on/with land: country/planet stock their and also to blow in/on/with them and to wither and tempest like/as stubble to lift: bear them
25 A cui dunque mi assomigliereste? o [a cui] sarei io agguagliato? dice il Santo.
and to(wards) who? to resemble me and be like to say holy
26 Levate ad alto gli occhi vostri, e vedete; chi ha create quelle cose? [chi] fa uscire l'esercito loro a conto? [chi] le chiama tutte per nome, per la grandezza della [sua] forza, e, perciocchè egli è potente in virtù, senza che ne manchi pure una?
to lift: look height eye your and to see: see who? to create these [the] to come out: send in/on/with number army their to/for all their in/on/with name to call: call to from abundance strength and strong strength man not to lack
27 Perchè diresti, o Giacobbe; e [perchè], o Israele, parleresti [così: ] La mia via è occulta al Signore, e la mia ragione non viene più davanti all'Iddio mio?
to/for what? to say Jacob and to speak: speak Israel to hide way: conduct my from LORD and from God my justice my to pass
28 Non sai tu, non hai tu udito? Il Signore [è] l'Iddio eterno, che ha create le estremità della terra; egli non si stanca, e non si affatica; il suo intendimento [è] infinito.
not to know if: surely no not to hear: hear God forever: enduring LORD to create end [the] land: country/planet not to faint and not be weary/toil nothing search to/for understanding his
29 Egli dà forza allo stanco, ed accresce vigore a chi è senza forze.
to give: give to/for weary strength and to/for nothing strength strength to multiply
30 I giovani si stancano, e si affaticano; e i più scelti giovani traboccano, e cadono.
and to faint youth and be weary/toil and youth to stumble to stumble
31 Ma quelli che sperano nel Signore acquistano [del continuo] nuove forze; salgono con l'ale, come l'aquile; corrono, e non si affaticano; camminano, e non si stancano.
and to await LORD to pass strength to ascend: rise wing like/as eagle to run: run and not be weary/toil to go: walk and not to faint
