Genesi 25

1 ED Abrahamo prese un'altra moglie, il cui nome era Chetura.

Abraha toke hi another wyfe cald Ketura

2 Ed ella gli partorì Zimran, e Iocsan, e Medan, e Madian, e Isbac, e Sua.

which bare hi Sunram Iacksam Medan Midia Iesback and Suah.

3 E Iocsan generò Seba e Dedan. Ed i figliuoli di Dedan furono Assurim, e Letusim, e Leummim.

And Iacksan begat Seba and Deda. And the sonnes of sedan were Assurim Letusim and Leumim.

4 Ed i figliuoli di Madian [furono] Efa, ed Efer ed Hanoc, ed Abida, ed Eldaa. Tutti questi [furono] figliuoli di Chetura.

And the sonnes of Midian were Epha Epher Hanoch Abida and Elda. All these were the childern of Bethura.

5 Ed Abrahamo donò tutto il suo avere ad Isacco.

But Abraha gaue all that he had vnto Isaac.

6 Ed a' figliuoli delle sue concubine diede doni; e mentre era in vita, li mandò via d'appresso al suo figliuolo Isacco, verso il Levante, nel paese Orientale.

And vnto the sonnes of his concubines he haue giftes and sent them awaye from Isaac his sonne (while he yet lyved) east ward vnto the east contre.

7 Or il tempo della vita di Abrahamo [fu] di centosettantacinque anni.

These are the dayes of the life of Abraha which he lyved: an hudred and. lxxv. yere

8 Poi trapassò, e morì in buona vecchiezza, attempato, e sazio [di vita]: e fu raccolto a' suoi popoli.

and than fell seke ad dyed in a lustie age (whe he had lyved ynough) ad was put vnto his people.

9 E Isacco ed Ismaele, suoi figliuoli, lo seppellirono nella spelonca di Macpela nel campo di Efron, figliuoli di Sohar Hitteo, ch'[è] dirimpetto a Mamre;

And his sonnes Isaac ad Ismael buried hi in the duble caue in the feld of Ephro sone of Zoar the Hethite before Mamre.

10 [ch'è] il campo che Abrahamo avea comperato da' figliuoli di Het; quivi fu seppellito Abrahamo, e Sara, sua moglie.

Which felde abraha boughte of the sonnes of Heth: There was Abraha buried and Sara hys wife.

11 Ora, dopo che Abrahamo fu morto, Iddio benedisse Isacco, suo figliuolo; e Isacco abitò presso del Pozzo del Vivente che mi vede.

And after yt deeth of Abraha God blessed Isaac his sonne which dweld by the well of the lyvige and seige

12 OR queste [sono] le generazioni d'Ismaele, figliuolo di Abrahamo, il quale Agar Egizia, serva di Sara, avea partorito ad Abrahamo.

These are the generatios of Ismael Abrahas sonne which Hagar the Egiptia Saras hand mayde bare vnto Abraham.

13 E questi [sono] i nomi de' figliuoli d'Ismaele secondo i lor nomi nelle lor generazioni: Il primogenito d'Ismaele [fu] Nebaiot; poi [v'era] Chedar, ed Adbeel, e Mibsam;

And these are the names of the sones of Ismaell with their names in their kireddes. The eldest sone of Ismael Neuatoth the Redar Adbeel Mibsa

14 e Misma, e Duma, e Massa;

Misma Duma Masa

15 ed Hadar, e Tema, e Ietur, e Nafis, e Chedma.

Hadar Thema Ietur Naphis and Redma.

16 Questi furono i figliuoli d'Ismaele, e questi [sono] i lor nomi, nelle lor villate, e nelle lor castella; [e furono] dodici principi fra' lor popoli.

These are the sones of Ismael and these are their names in their townes and castels. xij. princes of natios.

17 E gli anni della vita d'Ismaele [furono] centrentasette; poi trapassò, e morì, e fu raccolto a' suoi popoli.

And these are the yeres of the lyfe of Ismael: an hudred and. xxxvij yere and than he fell seke and dyed and was layde vnto his people.

18 Ed i suoi figliuoli abitarono da Havila fin a Sur, ch'[è] dirimpetto all'Egitto, traendo verso l'Assiria. [Il paese di esso] gli scadde dirimpetto a tutti i suoi fratelli.

And he dweld from Euila vnto Sur yt is before Egypte as men go toward the Assirias. And he dyed in the presence of all his brethren.

19 E QUESTE [sono] le generazioni d'Isacco, figliuolo di Abrahamo:

And these are the generatios of Isaac Abrahas sonne: Abraha begat Isaac.

20 Abrahamo generò Isacco. Ed Isacco era d'età di quarant'anni, quando prese per moglie Rebecca, figliuola di Betuel, Sirio, da Paddanaram, e sorella di Labano, Sirio.

And Isaac was. xl. yere olde whe he toke Rebecca to wyfe the doughter of Bethuel the Sirian of Mesopotamia and sister to Iaban the Sirien.

21 E Isacco fece orazione al Signore per la sua moglie; perciocchè ella [era] sterile: e il Signore l'esaudì; e Rebecca sua moglie concepette.

And Isaac made intercessio vnto ye LORde for his wife: because she was bare: and ye LORde was itreated of hi and Rebecca his wife coceaued:

22 Ed i figliuoli si urtavano l'un l'altro nel suo seno. Ed ella disse: Se così [è], perchè [sono] io in vita? E andò a domandar[ne] il Signore.

and ye childern stroue together withi her, the she sayde: yf it shulde goo so to passe what helpeth it yt I am with childe? And she went and axed ye LORde.

23 E il Signore le disse: Due nazioni [sono] nel tuo seno; e due popoli diversi usciranno delle tue interiora; e l'un popolo sarà più possente dell'altro, e il maggiore servirà al minore.

And ye LORde sayde vnto her there are. ij. maner of people in the wombe and ij. nations shall springe out of thy bowels and the one nation shalbe myghtier than the other and the eldest shalbe servaunte vnto the yonger.

24 E quando fu compiuto il termine di essa da partorire, ecco, due gemelli [erano] nel suo seno.

And whe hir tyme was come to be delyuered beholde: there were. ij. twyns in hir wobe.

25 E il primo uscì fuori, ed [era] rosso, tutto [peloso] come un mantel velluto; e gli fu posto nome Esaù.

And he that came out first was redde and rough ouer all as it were an hyde: and they called his name Esau.

26 Appresso uscì il suo fratello, il quale con la mano teneva il calcagno di Esaù; e gli fu posto nome Giacobbe. Or Isacco [era] d'età di settant'anni, quando ella li partorì.

And after ward his brother came out and his hande holdynge Esau by the hele. Wher fore his name was called Iacob. And Isaac was. lx. yere olde whe she bare the:

27 ED i fanciulli crebbero; ed Esaù [fu] uomo intendente della caccia, uomo di campagna; ma Giacobbe [fu] uomo semplice, che se ne stava ne' padiglioni.

and the boyes grewe and Esau became a conynge hunter and a tyllman. But Iacob was a simple man and dwelled in the tentes.

28 E Isacco amava Esaù; perciocchè le selvaggine [erano] di suo gusto; e Rebecca amava Giacobbe.

Isaac loved Esau because he dyd eate of his venyso but Rebecca loued Iacob

29 Ora, concendo Giacobbe una minestra, Esaù giunse da' campi, ed era stanco.

Iacob sod potage and Esau came from the feld and was faine

30 Ed Esaù disse a Giacobbe: Deh! dammi a mangiare un po' di cotesta [minestra] rossa; perciocchè io [sono] stanco; perciò egli fu nominato Edom.

and sayd to Iacob: let me syppe of yt redde potage for I am fayntie. And therfore was his name called Edom.

31 E Giacobbe [gli] disse: Vendimi oggi la tua primogenitura.

And Iacob sayde: sell me this daye thy byrthrighte.

32 Ed Esaù disse: Ecco, io me ne vo alla morte, che mi [gioverà] la primogenitura?

And Esau answered: Loo I am at the poynte to dye and what profit shall this byrthrighte do me?

33 E Giacobbe disse: Giurami oggi [che tu me la vendi]. Ed Esaù gliel giurò; e vendette la sua primogenitura a Giacobbe.

And Iacob sayde swere to me then this daye. And he swore to him and sold his byrthrighte vnto Iacob.

34 E Giacobbe diede ad Esaù del pane, ed una minestra di lenticchie. Ed egli mangiò e bevve; poi si levò e se ne andò. Così Esaù sprezzò la primogenitura.

Than Iacob gaue Esau brede and potage of redde ryse. And he ate and dronke and rose vp and went his waye. And so Esau regarded not his byrthrighte.
