Ezechiele 6
1 POI la parola del Signore mi fu [indirizzata], dicendo:
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Figliuol d'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso i monti d'Israele, e profetizza contro ad essi; e di':
“Son of man, set your face against the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.
3 Monti d'Israele, ascoltate la parola del Signore Iddio. Così ha detto il Signore Iddio a' monti ed a' colli, alle pendici ed alle valli: Eccomi, io fo venire sopra voi la spada, e distruggerò i vostri alti luoghi.
You are to say: ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
4 E i vostri altari saran desolati, e i vostri simulacri saranno spezzati; ed abbatterò i vostri uccisi davanti a' vostri idoli.
Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will cast down your slain before your idols.
5 E metterò i corpi morti de' figliuoli d'Israele davanti ai loro idoli; e dispergerò le vostre ossa intorno a' vostri altari.
I will lay the corpses of the Israelites before their idols and scatter your bones around your altars.
6 In tutte le vostre abitazioni le città saranno deserte, e gli alti luoghi desolati; acciocchè sieno deserti, e desolati i vostri altari; e che i vostri idoli sieno spezzati, e non sieno più; e che le vostre statue sieno troncate, e che i vostri lavori sieno sterminati.
Wherever you live, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and desecrated, your idols smashed and obliterated, your incense altars cut down, and your works blotted out.
7 E gli uccisi caderanno nel mezzo di voi, e voi conoscerete che io [sono] il Signore.
The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.
8 Ma pure io [vi] lascerò alcun rimanente, quando [una parte] di voi, che sarà scampata dalla spada, sarà fra le genti; quando voi sarete stati dispersi per li paesi.
Yet I will leave a remnant, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among the nations and throughout the lands.
9 E quelli d'infra voi che saranno scampati si ricorderanno di me fra le genti, dove saranno stati menati in cattività; come io sono stato tribolato col cuor loro fornicatore, che si è stornato da me, e co' loro occhi, che fornicano dietro a' loro idoli; e si accoreranno appo loro stessi, per li mali che hanno commessi in tutte le lor abbominazioni.
Then in the nations to which they have been carried captive, your survivors will remember Me—how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts that turned away from Me, and by their eyes that lusted after idols. So they will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their abominations.
10 E conosceranno che io [sono] il Signore, [e che] non indarno ho parlato di far loro questo male.
And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not declare in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.
11 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Battiti a palme, e scalpita [la terra] co' piedi, e di': Ahi lasso! per tutte le scellerate abbominazioni della casa d'Israele; perciocchè caderanno per la spada, e per la fame, e per la peste.
This is what the Lord GOD says: Clap your hands, stomp your feet, and cry out “Alas!” because of all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel, who will fall by sword and famine and plague.
12 Chi sarà lontano morirà di peste, e chi sarà vicino caderà per la spada; e chi sarà rimasto, e sarà assediato morrà di fame; ed io adempierò la mia ira sopra loro.
He who is far off will die by the plague, he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains will die by famine. So I will vent My fury upon them.
13 E voi conoscerete che io [sono] il Signore, quando i loro uccisi saranno in mezzo de' loro idoli intorno a' loro altari, sopra ogni alto colle, sopra tutte le sommità de' monti, e sotto ogni albero verdeggiante, e sotto ogni quercia folta; [che sono] i luoghi dove han fatti soavi odori a tutti i loro idoli.
Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, and under every green tree and leafy oak—the places where they offered fragrant incense to all their idols.
14 Ed io stenderò la mia mano sopra loro, e renderò il paese desolato e deserto, più che non [è] il deserto di verso Dibla, in tutte le loro abitazioni; e conosceranno che io [sono] il Signore.
I will stretch out My hand against them, and wherever they live I will make the land a desolate waste, from the wilderness to Diblah. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”
