Ezechiele 17
1 LA parola del Signore mi fu ancora [indirizzata], dicendo:
And the worde of the Lord came vnto mee, saying,
2 Figliuol d'uomo, proponi un enimma, ed una parabola alla casa d'Israele; e di':
Sonne of man, put foorth a parable and speake a prouerbe vnto the house of Israel,
3 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Una grande aquila, con grandi ali, e lunghe penne, piena di piuma variata, venne al Libano, e [ne] prese la vetta di un cedro.
And say, Thus saith the Lord God, The great eagle with great wings, and long wings, and ful of fethers, which had diuers colours, came vnto Lebanon, and tooke the highest branch of the cedar,
4 Ella spiccò la sommità de' suoi ramoscelli teneri, e li trasportò in un paese di traffico, e li pose in una città di mercatanti.
And brake off the toppe of his twigge, and caried it into the land of marchants, and set it in a citie of marchants.
5 E prese della stirpe del paese, e la pose in un campo da sementa; [e] la portò presso a grandi acque, e la pose [a guisa di] magliuolo.
Hee tooke also of the seede of the lande, and planted it in a fruitfull ground: hee placed it by great waters, and set it as a willowe tree.
6 E quella germogliò, e divenne vite prospera, bassa di pianta, avendo i suoi tralci rivolti verso l'aquila, e rimanendo le sue radici nel proprio luogo di essa; così divenne vite, e fece de' tralci, e mise dei rami madornali.
And it budded vp, and was like a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward it, and the rootes thereof were vnder it: so it became a vine, and it brought foorth branches, and shot foorth buds.
7 Or vi fu un'[altra] grande aquila, con grandi ali, e con molte penne; ed ecco, quella vite voltò le sue radici ad essa, e stese verso lei i suoi tralci, acciocchè la rigasse co' rigagnoli delle sue piante.
There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers, and beholde, this vine did turne her rootes toward it, and spred foorth her branches toward it, that she might water it by the trenches of her plantation.
8 Quella era piantata in un buon terreno, presso a grandi acque, per metter pampani, e portar frutto, [e] divenire una vite magnifica.
It was planted in a good soyle by great waters, that it should bring forth branches, and beare fruite, and be an excellent vine.
9 Di': Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Prospererebbe ella? [quell'acquila] non divellerà ella le sue radici? e non riciderà ella il suo frutto, sì che si secchi? e non si seccheranno tutte le cime, ed i pampani ch'ella ha messi? e non [farà ella ciò] con grande sforzo, e con molto popolo, per torla via fin dalle radici?
Say thou, Thus saith the Lord God, Shall it prosper? shall he not pull vp the rootes thereof, and destroy the fruite thereof, and cause them to drie? all the leaues of her bud shall wither without great power, or many people, to plucke it vp by the rootes thereof.
10 Ora, eccola piantata; prospererà ella però? non si seccherà ella del tutto, come prima il vento orientale l'avrà tocca? ella si seccherà sopra i rigagnoli che l'avran fatta germogliare.
Beholde, it was planted: but shall it prosper? shall it not be dried vp, and wither? when the East winde shall touch it, it shall wither in the trenches, where it grewe.
11 Poi la parola del Signore mi fu [indirizzata], dicendo:
Moreouer, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
12 Di' ora a questa casa ribelle: Non conoscete voi, che [si voglion dir] queste cose? Di': Ecco, il re di Babilona venne in Gerusalemme, e prese il re, e i principi d'essa; e li fece venire appresso di sè in Babilonia.
Say now to this rebellious house, Know ye not, what these things meane? tell them, Behold, the King of Babel is come to Ierusalem, and hath taken the King thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babel,
13 E prese uno del sangue reale, e fece patto con lui, e lo fece giurare, e prese i possenti del paese;
And hath taken one of the Kings seede, and made a couenant with him, and hath taken an othe of him: he hath also taken the princes of the land,
14 acciocchè il reame fosse basso e non si elevasse; e serbasse il patto fatto con lui, acciocchè restasse in piè.
That the kingdome might be in subiection, and not lift it selfe vp, but keepe their couenant, and stand to it.
15 Ma colui si è ribellato contro a lui, mandando i suoi ambasciatori in Egitto, acciocchè gli fosser dati cavalli, e gran gente. Colui che fa cotali cose prospererebbe egli? scamperebbe egli? avendo rotto il patto, scamperebbe egli pure?
But he rebelled against him, and sent his ambassadours into Egypt, that they might giue him horses, and much people: shall hee prosper? shall he escape, that doeth such things? or shall he breake the couenant, and be deliuered?
16 [Come] io vivo, dice il Signore Iddio, egli morrà in mezzo di Babilonia, luogo del re che l'avea costituito re, [ed] appresso di lui, il cui giuramento egli ha sprezzato, e il cui patto egli ha rotto.
As I liue, saith the Lord God, he shall die in the middes of Babel, in the place of the King, that had made him King, whose othe he despised, and whose couenant made with him, he brake.
17 E Faraone, con grande esercito, e con gran gente radunata, non farà nulla con lui, in guerra; dopo che colui avrà fatti degli argini, ed avrà edificate delle bastie, per distruggere molte anime.
Neither shall Pharaoh with his mightie hoste, and great multitude of people, mainteine him in the warre, when they haue cast vp mounts, and builded ramparts to destroy many persons.
18 Poi ch'egli ha sprezzato il giuramento fatto con esecrazione, rompendo il patto, ed ecco, dopo aver data la mano, pure ha fatte tutte queste cose; egli non iscamperà.
For he hath despised the othe, and broken ye couenant (yet lo, he had giuen his hand) because he hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
19 Perciò, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: [Come] io vivo, io gli renderò in sul capo il mio giuramento ch'egli ha sprezzato, e il mio patto ch'egli ha rotto.
Therefore, thus sayth the Lord God, As I liue, I wil surely bring mine othe that he hath despised, and my couenant that he hath broken vpon his owne head.
20 Ed io stenderò la mia rete sopra lui, ed egli sarà preso ne' miei lacci, ed io lo farò venire in Babilonia, e quivi verrò in giudicio, con lui, del misfatto, ch'egli ha commesso contro a me.
And I wil spread my net vpon him, and he shalbe taken in my net, and I wil bring him to Babel, and will enter into iudgement with him there for his trespas that he hath committed against me.
21 E tutti quelli delle sue schiere, che fuggiranno, caderanno per la spada; e quelli che rimarranno saran dispersi ad ogni vento; e voi conoscerete che io, il Signore, ho parlato.
And all that flee from him with all his hoste, shall fall by the sword, and they that remaine, shalbe scattered towarde all the windes: and ye shall know that I the Lord haue spoken it.
22 Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Pur prenderò [una] delle vette di quell'alto cedro, e [la] porrò; io spiccherò un tenero [ramoscello] dalla cima de' suoi rami, e [lo] pianterò sopra un alto ed elevato monte.
Thus saith the Lord God, I wil also take off the top of this hie cedar, and wil set it, and cut off the top of the tender plant thereof, and I wil plant it vpon an hie mountaine and great.
23 Io lo pianterò nell'alto monte d'Israele, ed egli alzerà i [suoi] rami, e porterà frutto, e diverrà cedro eccellente; e sotto esso, all'ombra dei suoi rami, si ripareranno gli uccelli d'ogni specie.
Euen in the hie mountaine of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughes and beare fruite, and be an excellent cedar, and vnder it shall remaine all birds, and euery foule shall dwell in the shadow of the branches thereof.
24 E tutti gli alberi della campagna conosceranno che io [sono] il Signore, [che] abbasso gli alberi alti, [e] innalzo gli alberi bassi; [che] dissecco gli alberi verdi, e fo germogliare gli alberi secchi. Io, il Signore, ho parlato, ed altresì metterò [la cosa] ad effetto.
And all the trees of the fielde shall knowe that I the Lord haue brought downe the hie tree, and exalted the lowe tree, that I haue dried vp the greene tree, and made the drie tree to florish: I the Lord haue spoken it, and haue done it.
