1 FA' ancora il Padiglione, di dieci teli di fin lino ritorto, di violato, di porpora, e di scarlatto; e fa' que' [teli lavorati a] cherubini di lavoro di disegno.
“[Tell the people to] make the Sacred Tent using ten long strips of fine linen. They must take blue, purple, and red thread (OR, weave the strips from blue, purple, and red thread), and [a skilled craftsman] must embroider these strips with [designs that represent] the winged creatures [that are above the chest].
2 [Sia] la lunghezza d'un telo di ventotto cubiti, e la larghezza di quattro cubiti; [sieno] tutti que' teli di una stessa misura.
Each strip is to be (14 yards/twelve meters) long and (2 yards/1.8 meters) wide.
3 Sieno cinque teli accoppiati l'uno con l'altro, e cinque [altri] teli [parimente] accoppiati l'uno con l'altro.
[Tell them to] sew five strips together to make one set, and sew the other five strips together to make another set.
4 E fa' de' lacciuoli di violato all'orlo dell'uno de' teli, [che sarà] all'estremità dell'uno degli accoppiamenti; fa' il simigliante ancora nell'orlo del telo estremo nel secondo accoppiamento.
For each set, [they must] make loops of blue [cloth] and fasten them along the outer edge of the strip, at the end of each set.
5 Fa' cinquanta lacciuoli nell'uno di que' teli, e parimente cinquanta lacciuoli all'estremità del telo che [sarà] al secondo accoppiamento; sieno i lacciuoli dirincontro l'uno all'altro.
[They must] put 50 loops on the edge of the first set, and 50 loops on the edge of the second set.
6 Fa' ancora cinquanta graffi d'oro, e accoppia que' teli, l'uno con l'altro con que' graffi; e così sia il Padiglione [giunto in] uno.
[Tell them to] make 50 gold clasps/fasteners, to fasten both of the sets together. As a result, the inside of the Sacred Tent will be [as though it was] one piece.
7 Fa', oltre a ciò, sopra il Padiglione una Tenda a teli di pel di capra; fai undici di que' teli.
Also, [tell them to] make a cover for the Sacred Tent from eleven pieces of cloth made from goats’ hair.
8 [Sia] la lunghezza di un telo di trenta cubiti, e la larghezza di quattro cubiti; [sieno] gli undici teli di una stessa misura.
Each piece of cloth is to be (15 yards/13.5 meters) long and (2 yards/1.8 meters) wide.
9 E accoppia cinque di que' teli da parte, e sei da parte; e raddoppia il sesto telo in su la parte anteriore del Tabernacolo.
[Tell them to] sew five of these pieces of cloth together to make one set, and sew the other six pieces of cloth together to make another set. [They] must fold the sixth piece [of cloth] in half to make it double over the front of the Sacred Tent.
10 E fa' cinquanta lacciuoli all'orlo dell'un de' teli, [che sarà] l'estremo del primo accoppiamento; e parimente cinquanta lacciuoli all'orlo del telo estremo del secondo accoppiamento.
[Tell them to] make 100 loops [of blue cloth], and to fasten 50 of them to the outer edge of the one set and fasten 50 to the outer edge of the other set.
11 Fa' ancora cinquanta graffi di rame, e metti i graffi dentro i lacciuoli; e assembra insieme la Tenda, acciocchè sia giunta in uno.
[Tell them to] make fifty bronze clasps/fasteners and put them in the cloth loops to join the two sets together. As a result, the cover for the Sacred Tent will be [as though it was] one piece.
12 E quel soverchio che avanzerà ne' teli della Tenda, [cioè: ] quel mezzo telo che sarà di soverchio, soprabbondi nella parte di dietro del Tabernacolo.
[Let] the extra part of the cover, the part that extends beyond [the linen cloth], hang over the back of the Sacred Tent.
13 E il cubito di qua, e il cubito di là, [che sarà] di soverchio nella lunghezza de' teli della Tenda, soprabbondi ne' lati del Tabernacolo, di qua e di là, per coprirlo.
The extra half yard/meter of each cover, the part that extends beyond [the linen cloth] on each side, must hang over the two sides of the Sacred Tent, to protect the sides.
14 Fa' ancora alla Tenda una coverta di pelli di montone, tinte in rosso; e un'[altra] coverta di pelli di tasso, disopra.
[Tell them to] make two more covers for the Sacred Tent. One is to be made from rams’ skins that have been (tanned/dyed red), and the top cover is to be made from goatskin leather.”
15 Fa', oltre a ciò, delle assi per lo Tabernacolo; falle di legno di Sittim, [per metterle] ritte.
“[Tell them to] make frames from acacia wood, frames that will be set up [from which to hang the Sacred Tent covers].
16 [Sia] la lunghezza di ciascuna asse di dieci cubiti, e la larghezza di un cubito e mezzo.
Each frame is to be (five yards/four meters) long and (27 in./66 cm.) wide.
17 Abbia ciascuna asse due cardini da incastrare un [pezzo] nell'altro; fa' così a tutte le assi del Tabernacolo.
[They] must make two projections at the bottom of each frame. These will be to fasten the frames to the bases underneath them. They must make these projections at the bottom of each frame.
18 Fa' adunque le assi per lo Tabernacolo; venti assi dal lato Australe, verso il Mezzodì.
Make 20 frames for the south side of the Sacred Tent.
19 E fa' quaranta piedistalli di argento [per metter] sotto quelle venti assi; due piedistalli sotto ciascuna asse, per li suoi due cardini.
[Tell them to] make 40 silver bases to go underneath them. Two bases will go under each frame. The projections [at the bottom] of each frame are [to be made] to fit into the bases.
20 E venti assi per l'altro lato del Tabernacolo, verso Aquilone;
[Similarly], [tell them to] make twenty frames for the north side of the Sacred Tent.
21 co' lor quaranta piedistalli di argento, due piedistalli sotto ciascuna asse.
[They] must make 40 silver bases for them also, with two bases to be put under each frame.
22 E per lo fondo del Tabernacolo, verso Occidente, fa' sei assi.
For the rear of the Sacred Tent, on the west side, [tell them to] make six frames.
23 Fa' ancora due assi per li cantoni del Tabernacolo, nel fondo.
Also, [tell them to] make two extra frames, one for each corner of the rear of the Sacred Tent, [to provide extra support].
24 E sieno quelle a due facce fin da basso; e tutte sieno ben commesse insieme al capo [di queste assi] con un anello; sieno quelle due [assi, che saranno] per li due cantoni, fatte di una medesima maniera.
The two corner frames must be joined from the bottom to the top (OR, joined at both the bottom and the top). At the top of each of the two corner frames there must be a gold ring for holding the crossbar.
25 Sienvi adunque otto assi, co' lor piedistalli di argento, in numero di sedici piedistalli; due piedistalli sotto ciascuna asse.
In that way, [for the rear of the Sacred Tent] there will be eight frames, and there will be 16 bases, two under each frame.
26 Fai ancora cinque sbarre di legno di Sittim, per le assi dell'uno de' lati del Tabernacolo.
[Tell them to] make 15 crossbars from acacia wood.
27 Parimente cinque sbarre per le assi dell'altro lato del Tabernacolo; e cinque sbarre per le assi del lato del fondo del Tabernacolo, verso Occidente.
Five of them will be for the frames on the north side of the Sacred Tent, five will be for the south side, and five for the frames at the rear of the Sacred Tent, the west side.
28 E la sbarra di mezzo [sia] nel mezzo delle assi, e traversi da un capo all'altro.
Tell them to fasten the crossbars on the north, south, and west sides of the Sacred Tent to the middle of the frames. The two long ones must extend from one end of the Sacred Tent to the other, and the crossbar on the west side must extend from one side of the Sacred Tent to the other.
29 E copri d'oro le assi, e fa' d'oro i loro anelli, da mettervi dentro le sbarre; copri ancora d'oro le sbarre.
[Tell them to] cover the frames with gold, and make gold rings to fasten the crossbars to the frames. The crossbars must [also] be covered with gold.
30 Poi rizza il Tabernacolo secondo il modello di esso, che ti è stato mostrato nel monte.
Erect the Sacred Tent in the way that I have shown you [here] on [this] mountain.”
31 Fa' ancora una Cortina di violato, e di porpora, e di scarlatto, e di fin lino ritorto; facciasi di lavoro di disegno a Cherubini.
“[Tell them to] make a curtain from fine linen. A skilled craftsman must embroider it with blue, purple, and red yarn/thread, making [designs to represent] the winged creatures [that are above the chest].
32 E appendila a quattro colonne [di legno] di Sittim, coperte d'oro, co' lor capitelli d'oro; [e quelle sieno poste] sopra quattro piedistalli di argento.
[Tell them to] suspend/hang the curtain from four posts made from acacia wood and covered with gold. Set [each] post in a silver base.
33 E metti la Cortina sotto i graffi; e porta là, dentro della Cortina, l'Arca della Testimonianza; e facciavi quella Cortina separazione fra il [luogo] Santo e il Santissimo.
[They] must suspend/hang the [top of the] curtain by hooks that are fastened to the roof of the Sacred Tent. Behind the curtain, in the [room called the] Very Holy Place, [they] must put the chest containing the [two stone slabs on which I have written my] commandments. That curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Very Holy Place.
34 E metti il Coperchio sopra l'Arca della Testimonianza, nel luogo Santissimo.
On top of the chest in the Very Holy Place [they] must put the lid which will be the place where [blood will be sprinkled to] forgive people’s sins.
35 E metti la Tavola di fuori della Cortina, dal lato Settentrionale; e il Candelliere, dirimpetto alla Tavola, dal lato Australe del Tabernacolo.
[In the room that is] outside of the Very Holy Place, [they] must put the table [for the sacred] bread on the north side, and put the lampstand on the south side.
36 Fa' eziandio, per l'entrata del Tabernacolo, un tappeto di violato, e di porpora, e di scarlatto, e di fin lino ritorto, di lavoro di ricamatore.
[Tell them to] make a curtain to [cover] the entrance of the Sacred Tent. They must make it from fine linen, and a skilled weaver must embroider it with blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
37 E fai cinque colonne [di legno] di Sittim, per [appendervi] quel tappeto, e copri [le colonne] d'oro, [e sieno] i lor capitelli d'oro; e fondi loro cinque piedistalli di rame.
To hold up this curtain, [they] must make five posts from acacia wood. [They] must cover them with gold, and fasten gold clasps/fasteners to them. Also [they] must make a bronze base for each of these posts.”
