Esodo 16
1 POI tutta la raunanza de' figliuoli d'Israele si partì di Elim, e venne nel deserto di Sin, ch'[è] fra Elim e Sinai, nel quintodecimo giorno del mese secondo, da che furono usciti di Egitto.
And thei yeden forth fro Helym, and al the multitude of the sones of Israel cam in to deseert of Syn, which is bitwixe Helym and Synai, in the fiftenethe dai of the secunde monethe aftir that thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt.
2 E tutta la raunanza de' figliuoli d'Israele mormorò contro a Mosè, e contro ad Aaronne, nel deserto.
And al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel grutchide ayens Moises, and ayens Aaron, in the wildirnesse.
3 E i figliuoli d'Israele dissero loro: Oh! fossimo pur morti per la mano del Signore, nel paese di Egitto, quando sedevamo presso alle pignatte delle carni, quando mangiavamo del pane a sazietà; conciossiachè voi ci abbiate tratti in questo deserto, per far morir di fame tutta questa raunanza.
And the sones of Israel seiden to hem, We wolden that we hadden be deed bi the `hoond of the Lord in the lond of Egipt, whanne we saten on the `pottis of fleisch, and eeten looues in plentee; whi leden ye vs in to this deseert, that ye schulden sle al the multitude with hungur?
4 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Ecco, io vi farò piovere del pane dal cielo; e il popolo uscirà, e ne raccoglierà di dì in dì quanto gliene bisognerà per giorno; acciocchè io lo provi, s'egli camminerà nella mia Legge, o no.
Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y schal reyne to you looues fro heuene; the puple go out, that it gadere tho thingis that sufficen bi ech day; that Y asaie the puple, whethir it goith in my lawe, ether nai.
5 Ma [ogni] sesto giorno apparecchino essi ciò che avranno a portare [in tavola]; e [ciò] sia il doppio di quello che coglieranno per ciascun giorno.
Sotheli in the sixte dai make thei redi that that thei schulen bere yn, and be it double ouer that thei weren wont to gadere bi ech dai.
6 E Mosè ed Aaronne dissero a tutti i figliuoli d'Israele: Questa sera voi conoscerete che il Signore vi ha tratti fuori del paese di Egitto.
And Moises and Aaron seiden to alle the sones of Israel, At euentid ye schulen wite that the Lord ledde you out of the lond of Egipt;
7 E domattina voi vedrete la gloria del Signore; conciossiachè egli abbia uditi i vostri mormorii contro al Signore; ma, quant'è a noi, che [siamo] noi, che voi mormoriate contro a noi?
and in the morewetid ye schulen se the glorie of the Lord; for Y herde youre grutchyng ayens the Lord; sotheli what ben we, for ye grutchen ayens us?
8 Mosè, oltre a ciò, disse: [Ciò avverrà], dandovi il Signore questa sera della carne a mangiare, e domattina del pane a sazietà; perchè il Signore ha intesi i vostri mormorii, co' quali avete mormorato contro a lui; ma, quant'è a noi, che [siamo] noi? i vostri mormorii non [s'indirizzano] contro a noi, anzi contro al Signore.
And Moises seide, The Lord schal yyue to you at euentid fleischis to ete, and looues in the morewetid in plentee, for he herde youre grutchyngis, bi which ye grutchiden ayens hym; for whi, what ben we? youre grutchyng is not ayens vs but ayens the Lord.
9 Poi Mosè disse ad Aaronne: Di' a tutta la raunanza de' figliuoli d'Israele: Appressatevi davanti al Signore; perciocchè egli ha intesi i vostri mormorii.
And Moises seide to Aaron, Seie thou to al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel, Neiye ye bifore the Lord, for he herde youre grutchyng.
10 E, come Aaronne parlava a tutta la raunanza de' figliuoli d'Israele, essi voltarono la faccia verso il deserto; ed ecco, la gloria del Signore apparve nella nuvola.
And whanne Aaron spak to al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel, thei bihelden to the wildirnesse, and lo! the glorie of the Lord apperide in a cloude.
11 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises,
12 Io ho intesi i mormorii dei figliuoli d'Israele; parla loro, dicendo: Fra i due vespri voi mangerete della carne, e domattina sarete saziati di pane; e conoscerete ch'io [sono] il Signore Iddio vostro.
and seide, Y herde the grutchyngis of the sones of Israel; spek thou to hem, At euentid ye schulen ete fleischis, and in the morewtid ye schulen be fillid with looues, and ye schulen wite that Y am `youre Lord God.
13 E avvenne su la sera che delle quaglie salirono, e coprirono il campo; e la mattina vi fu un suolo di rugiada intorno al campo.
Therfor euentid was maad, and `curlewes stieden and hiliden the castels; and in the morewtid deew cam bi the face of the castels.
14 E [quando] quel suolo di rugiada fu sparito, ecco, sopra la faccia del deserto [vi era] una cosa minuta, tonda, sottile come brina, in su la terra.
And whanne it hadde hilid the erthe, a litil thing, and as powned with a pestel, in the licnesse of an hoorfrost on erthe, apperide in the wildirnesse.
15 E quando i figliuoli d'Israele [la] videro, dissero l'uno all'altro: [Questo] è del Man; perciocchè non sapevano che cosa fosse. E Mosè disse loro: Quest'[è] il pane che il Signore vi dà per mangiare.
And whanne the sones of Israel hadden seyn that, thei seiden to gidere, Man hu? which signyfieth, what is this? for thei wisten not what it was. To whiche Moises seide, This is the breed, which the Lord hath youe to you to ete.
16 Quest'[è] quello che il Signore ha comandato: Raccoglietene ciascuno a ragion del suo mangiare, un omer per testa, secondo il numero delle vostre persone; prendane ciascuno per [quelli] che [son] nel suo padiglione.
This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Ech man gadere therof as myche as suffisith to be etun, gomor bi ech heed, bi the noumbre of youre soulis that dwellen in the tabernacle, so ye schulen take.
17 E i figliuoli d'Israele fecero così; e ne raccolsero, chi assai, e chi poco.
And the sones of Israel diden so, and thei gaderiden oon more, another lesse;
18 E lo misurarono con l'omer; e chi ne avea raccolto assai non n'ebbe di soverchio; e chi ne avea raccolto poco non n'ebbe di manco; ciascuno ne raccoglieva quanto gliene bisognava per lo suo mangiare.
and thei metiden at the mesure gomor; nethir he that gaderide more had more, nethir he that made redi lesse fond lesse, but alle gaderiden bi that that thei myyten ete.
19 E Mosè disse loro: Niuno ne lasci di resto fino alla mattina.
And Moises seide to hem, Noon leeue therof in to the morewtid; whiche herden not him,
20 Ma alcuni non ubbidirono a Mosè, e ne lasciarono di resto fino alla mattina, e quello inverminò, e putì; laonde Mosè si adirò contro a loro.
but summe of hem leften til to the morewtid, and it bigan to buyle with wormes, and it was rotun; and Moises was wrooth ayens hem.
21 Così lo raccoglievano ogni mattina, ciascuno a ragion del suo mangiare; [e quando] il sole si riscaldava, quello si struggeva.
Forsothe alle gaderiden in the morewtid as myche as `miyte suffice to be eten; and whanne the sunne was hoot, it was moltun.
22 E nel sesto giorno raccolsero di quel pane il doppio, [cioè: ] due omer per uno. E tutti i principali della raunanza vennero, e rapportarono [la cosa] a Mosè.
Sotheli in the sixte dai thei gaderiden double metis, that is, `twei gomor by ech man. Forsothe alle the princis of the multitude camen, and telden to Moises, which seide to hem,
23 Ed egli disse loro: Quest'[è] quel che il Signore ha detto: Domani è il Sabato, il riposo sacro al Signore; cuocete [oggi] quel che avete a cuocere al forno od al fuoco; e riponetevi tutto quello che soprabbonderà, per serbarlo fino a domani.
This it is that the Lord spak, The reste of the sabot is halewid to the Lord, do ye what euer thing schal be wrouyt to morewe, and sethe ye tho thingis that schulen be sodun; sotheli what euer thing is residue, kepe ye til in to the morewe.
24 Essi adunque riposero quello fino alla mattina, come Mosè avea comandato; e non putì, e non vi fu [alcun] vermine.
And thei diden so as Moises comaundide, and it was not rotun, nether a worm was foundun ther ynne.
25 E Mosè disse: Mangiatelo oggi; perciocchè oggi [è] Sabato al Signore; oggi voi non ne troverete per li campi.
And Moises seide, Ete ye that in this dai, for it is the sabat of the Lord, it schal not be foundun to dai in the feeld; gadere ye in sixe daies,
26 Raccoglietene per sei giorni; ma nel settimo giorno [è] Sabato; in quel [dì] non ne sarà.
forsothe the sabat of the Lord is in the seuenthe dai, therfor it schal not be foundun.
27 Ora, nel settimo giorno avvenne che [alcuni] del popolo uscirono per raccoglier[ne], ma non [ne] trovarono.
The seuenthe dai cam, and summe of the puple yeden out `to gadire, and thei founden not.
28 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Fino a quando ricuserete di osservare i miei comandamenti, e le mie leggi?
Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Hou long `nylen ye kepe my comaundementis, and my lawe?
29 Vedete che il Signore vi ha ordinato il Sabato; perciò egli vi dà nel sesto giorno del pane per due giorni; stiasene ciascun di voi in casa, non esca alcuno del suo luogo al settimo giorno.
Se ye that the Lord yaf to you the sabat, and for this he yaf to you in the sixte dai double meetis; ech man dwelle at him silf, noon go out of his place in the seuenthe dai.
30 Il popolo adunque si riposò nel settimo giorno.
And the puple kepte sabat in the seuenthe dai.
31 E la casa d'Israele chiamò quel [pane] manna; ed esso [era] simile a seme di coriandolo, [ed era] bianco, e il suo sapore [era] come di frittelle [fatte] col miele.
And the hous of Israel clepide the name therof man, which was whijt as the seed of coriandre, and the taast therof was as of flour with hony.
32 Mosè, oltre a ciò, disse: Quest'[è] quello che il Signore ha comandato: Empi un omer di manna, acciocchè sia serbata per le vostre età, e che esse veggano il pane, del quale io vi ho cibati nel deserto, dopo avervi tratti fuor del paese di Egitto.
Forsothe Moises seide, This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Fille thou a gomor therof, and be it kept in to generaciouns to comynge aftirward, that thei knowe the breed bi which Y fedde you in the wildirnesse, whanne ye weren led out of the lond of Egipt.
33 Mosè adunque disse ad Aaronne: Piglia un vaso, e mettivi dentro un pieno omer di manna, e riponilo davanti al Signore, acciocchè [quella] sia serbata per le vostre età.
And Moises seide to Aaron, Take thou o vessel, and putte therinne man, as myche as gomor mai take, and putte bifore the Lord, to be kept in to youre generaciouns,
34 Come il Signore avea comandato a Mosè, Aaronne ripose quella [manna] davanti alla Testimonianza, per esser serbata.
as the Lord comaundide to Moises; and Aaron puttide that to be kept in the tabernacle.
35 E i figliuoli d'Israele mangiarono la manna [lo spazio di] quarant'anni, finchè furono arrivati in paese abitato; mangiarono la manna, finchè furono arrivati a' confini del paese di Canaan.
Forsothe the sones of Israel eeten manna in fourti yeer, til thei camen in to the lond abitable; thei weren fed with this mete til thei touchiden the endis of the lond of Canaan.
36 Or un omer è la decima parte di un efa.
Forsothe gomor is the tenthe part of efy.
