Ecclesiaste 2
1 IO ho detto nel cuor mio: Va' ora, io ti proverò con allegrezza, e tu goderai del bene; ma ecco, questo ancora [è] vanità.
I said I in heart my come! please let me put to [the] test you with pleasure and look on good and there! also it [was] futility.
2 Io ho detto al riso: [Tu sei] insensato; ed all'allegrezza: Che cosa [è] quel che tu fai?
Of laughter I said [it is] folly and of pleasure what? this [is it] doing.
3 Io ho nel mio cuore ricercato il modo di passar dolcemente la vita mia in continui conviti; e, reggendo il mio cuore con sapienza, di attenermi a stoltizia; finchè vedessi che cosa fosse bene a' figliuoli degli uomini di fare sotto il cielo, tutti i giorni della vita loro.
I searched in heart my to gratify with wine flesh my and heart my [was] guiding with wisdom and to take hold on folly until that I saw where? this [is] good for [the] children of humankind which they will do under the heavens [the] number of [the] days of lives their.
4 Io ho fatte dell'opere magnifiche; io mi ho edificate delle case; io mi ho piantate delle vigne.
I made great works my I built for myself houses I planted for myself vineyards.
5 Io mi ho fatti degli orti e de' giardini; ed ho piantati in essi degli alberi fruttiferi di ogni maniera.
I made for myself gardens and parks and I planted in them tree[s] of every fruit.
6 Io mi ho fatte delle pescine d'acqua, per adacquar con esse il bosco ove crescono gli alberi.
I made for myself pools of water to water from them a forest sprouting of trees.
7 Io ho acquistati de' servi e delle serve, ed ho avuti de' servi nati ed allevati in casa; ho eziandio avuto molto grosso e minuto bestiame, più che tutti quelli che sono stati innanzi a me in Gerusalemme.
I acquired [male] slaves and female slaves and sons of house he belonged to me also livestock herd[s] and flock[s] [surely] a multitude belonged to me more than all who were before me in Jerusalem.
8 Io mi ho eziandio adunato dell'argento, e dell'oro, e delle cose le più care dei re, e delle provincie; io mi ho acquistato de' cantori e delle cantatrici; ed ho avute delle delizie degli uomini, [d'ogni maniera: ] musica semplice, e musica di concerto.
I gathered for myself also silver and gold and treasure of kings and provinces I acquired for myself male singers and female singers and [the] delights of [the] children of humankind breast and breasts.
9 E mi sono aggrandito ed accresciuto più che tutti quelli che sono stati innanzi a me in Gerusalemme; la mia sapienza eziandio mi è restata.
And I became great and I increased more than any who was before me in Jerusalem also wisdom my it remained to me.
10 E non ho sottratta agli occhi miei cosa alcuna che abbiano chiesta; [e] non ho divietato il mio cuore da niuna allegrezza; anzi il mio cuore si è rallegrato d'ogni mia fatica; e questo è stato quello che mi è tocco in parte d'ogni mia fatica.
And all that they asked eyes my not I withheld from them not I restrained heart my from any pleasure for heart my [was] joyful from all toil my and this it was reward my from all toil my.
11 Ma, avendo considerate tutte le mie opere che le mie mani aveano fatte; e la fatica che io avea durata a far[le], ecco, tutto ciò [era] vanità, e tormento di spirito; e non [vi è di ciò] profitto alcuno sotto il sole.
And I turned I on all works my that had done hands my and on the toil that I had toiled to do and there! everything [was] futility and striving of wind and there not [was] profit under the sun.
12 Laonde mi son rivolto a vedere la sapienza, e le follie, e la stoltizia; perciocchè, che cosa [sono] gli [altri] uomini, per poter seguitare il re? essi fanno ciò che [hanno] già [fatto].
And I turned I to consider wisdom and madness and folly for - what? [is] the person who will come after the king [that] which already people have done it.
13 Ed ho veduto che la sapienza è più eccellente che la stoltizia; siccome la luce è più eccellente che le tenebre.
And I saw I that there [is] advantage of wisdom more than folly like [the] advantage of light more than darkness.
14 Il savio ha i suoi occhi nel capo, e lo stolto cammina in tenebre; ma pure eziandio ho conosciuto che un medesimo avvenimento avviene ad essi tutti.
The wise [person] eyes his [are] in head his and the fool in darkness [is] walking and I knew also I that fate one it will happen to all of them.
15 Laonde ho detto nel cuor mio: Egli avverrà anche a me il medesimo avvenimento che allo stolto; che mi gioverà egli adunque allora d'essere stato più savio? perciò ho detto nel cuor mio che ciò ancora [è] vanità.
And I said I in heart my like [the] fate of the fool also me it will happen to me and why? have I become wise I then excessively and I said in heart my that also this [is] futility.
16 Perciocchè non [vi sarà] giammai [più] memoria del savio, come nè anche dello stolto; conciossiachè nei giorni vegnenti ogni cosa sarà già dimenticata. E come muore il savio così muore anche lo stolto.
For there not [is] remembrance of the wise man with the fool for a long time in that already the days coming everything it has been forgotten and how! he will die the wise [person] with the fool.
17 Perciò ho odiata questa vita; imperocchè le opere che si fanno sotto il sole mi son dispiaciute; perchè ogni cosa [è] vanità, e tormento di spirito.
And I hated life for [was] evil on me the work that was done under the sun for everything [is] futility and striving of wind.
18 Ho eziando odiata ogni mia fatica che io ho durata sotto il sole, la quale io lascerò a colui che sarà dopo di me.
And I hated I all toil my that I [was] a laborer under the sun that I will leave it to the person who will be after me.
19 E chi sa s'egli sarà savio, o stolto? e pure egli sarà signore d'ogni mia fatica, intorno alla quale mi sarò affaticato, ed avrò adoperata la mia sapienza sotto il sole. Anche questo [è] vanità.
And who? [is] knowing ¿ a wise [person] will he be or? a fool so he may have power over all toil my that I have toiled and that I worked skillfully under the sun also this [is] futility.
20 Perciò, mi son rivolto a far perdere al mio cuore la speranza d'ogni fatica, intorno alla quale io mi sono affaticato sotto il sole.
And I turned I to make despair heart my on all the toil that I have toiled under the sun.
21 Perciocchè vi è tale uomo, la cui fatica [sarà stata] con sapienza, con conoscimento, e con dirittura; il quale pur la lascia per parte a chi non s'è affaticato intorno. Anche questo [è] vanità, e gran molestia.
If there [was] a person who toil his [was] with wisdom and with knowledge and with skill and to a person who not he toiled in it he will give it portion his also this [is] futility and an evil great.
22 Perciocchè, che cosa ha un tale uomo di tutta la sua fatica, e del tormento del suo spirito, con che egli si affatica sotto il sole?
For what? [is] becoming to the person in all toil his and in [the] striving of heart his that he [was] a laborer under the sun.
23 Conciossiachè tutti i suoi giorni [non sieno altro che] dolori, e le sue occupazioni [altro che] molestia; anche non pur di notte il cuor suo non riposa. Questo ancora è vanità.
For all days his [are] pains and [is] vexation task his also in the night not it rests heart his also this [is] futility it.
24 Non [è] egli cosa buona nell'uomo, ch'egli mangi e beva, e faccia goder di beni l'anima sua, con la sua fatica? Anche questo ho veduto esser dalla mano di Dio.
There not [is] good for person that he will eat and he will drink and he will show self his good in toil his also this I have seen I that [is] from [the] hand of God it.
25 (Perciocchè, chi mangerebbe, e chi goderebbe, se io nol facessi?)
For who? will he eat and who? will he enjoy outside from me.
26 Conciossiachè [Iddio] dia all'uomo, che gli è grato, sapienza, conoscimento ed allegrezza; ed al peccatore, egli dà occupazione di adunare e di ammassare, per dare a colui che è grato a Dio. Questo ancora [è] vanità, e tormento di spirito.
For to anyone who [is] good before him he gives wisdom and knowledge and joy and to the sinner he gives a task to gather and to collect to give [it] to a [person] good before God also this [is] futility and striving of wind.
