Deuteronomio 27

1 OR Mosè, con gli Anziani d'Israele, comandò e disse al popolo: Osservate tutti i comandamenti i quali oggi vi do.

Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.

2 E nel giorno che sarete passati il Giordano, [per entrar] nel paese che il Signore Iddio vostro vi dà, rizzati delle grandi pietre, e smaltale con calcina.

[Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.

3 E scrivi sopra esse tutte le parole di questa Legge, dopo che tu sarai passato, per entrar nel paese che il Signore Iddio tuo ti dà, paese stillante latte e miele; siccome il Signore Iddio de' tuoi padri te ne ha parlato.

4 Quando adunque sarete passati il Giordano, rizzatevi queste pietre, le quali oggi vi comando, nel monte di Ebal; e smaltatele con calcina.

5 Edifica ancora quivi un altare al Signore Iddio tuo, un altar di pietre; non far passare ferro sopra esse.

And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.

6 Edifica l'altare del Signore Iddio tuo di pietre intiere; e offerisci sopra esso olocausti al Signore Iddio tuo.

The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.

7 Sacrifica ancora quivi sacrificii da render grazie; e mangia, e rallegrati davanti al Signore Iddio tuo.

And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.

8 E scrivi sopra quelle pietre tutte le parole di questa Legge chiaramente e bene.

And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”

9 Mosè ancora, co' sacerdoti Leviti, parlò a tutto Israele, dicendo: Attendi, e ascolta, Israele: Oggi tu sei divenuto popolo del Signore Iddio tuo.

Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.

10 Ubbidisci adunque alla voce del Signore Iddio tuo, e metti in opera i suoi comandamenti, e i suoi statuti, i quali oggi ti do.

So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”

11 Mosè ancora in quello stesso giorno comandò, e disse al popolo:

On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,

12 Gli uni [d'infra voi] stieno sopra il monte di Gherizim, per benedire il popolo quando sarete passati il Giordano; [cioè, le tribù di] Simeone, [di] Levi, [di] Giuda, [d]'Issacar, [di] Giuseppe, e [di] Beniamino;

“After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.

13 e gli altri stieno sopra il monte di Ebal, per [pronunziar] la maledizione; [cioè, le tribù di] Ruben, [di] Gad, [di] Aser, [di] Zabulon, [di] Dan, e [di] Neftali.

And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.

14 E parlino i Leviti, e dicano ad alta voce a tutti gl'Israeliti:

The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:

15 Maledetto [sia] l'uomo che avrà fatta scultura, o statua di getto, [che è] cosa abbominevole al Signore, opera di man di artefice, e l'avrà riposta in luogo occulto. — E risponda tutto il popolo, e dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

16 Maledetto [sia] chi sprezza suo padre o sua madre. — E dica tutto il popolo: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

17 Maledetto [sia] chi muove i termini del suo prossimo. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

18 Maledetto [sia] chi trasvia il cieco. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

19 Maledetto [sia] chi pervertisce la ragione del forestiere, dell'orfano, e della vedova. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

20 Maledetto [sia] chi giace con la moglie di suo padre; perciocchè egli scopre il lembo di suo padre. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

21 Maledetto [sia] chi si congiugne con alcuna bestia. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

22 Maledetto [sia] chi giace con la sua sorella, figliuola di suo padre, o figliuola di sua madre. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

23 Maledetto [sia] chi giace con la sua suocera. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

24 Maledetto [sia] chi uccide il suo prossimo in occulto. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

25 Maledetto [sia] chi prende presente, per far morir l'innocente. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’

26 Maledetto [sia] chi non avrà attenute le parole di questa Legge, per metterle in opera. — E tutto il popolo dica: Amen.

‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
