1 ALLORA il re Salomone adunò appresso di sè, in Gerusalemme, gli Anziani d'Israele, e tutti i capi delle tribù, i principali delle nazioni paterne de' figliuoli d'Israele, per trasportar l'Arca del Patto del Signore, dalla Città di Davide, la quale [è] Sion.
Thanne alle the gretter men in birthe in Israel, with the princes of lynagis, and the duykis of meynees of the sones of Israel, weren gaderid to kyng Salomon, in to Jerusalem, that thei schulden bere the arke of boond of pees of the Lord fro the citee of Dauid, that is, fro Syon.
2 Si raunarono ancora appresso del re Salomone tutti gli uomini d'Israele, nel mese di Etanim, che [è] il settimo mese, nella festa.
And al Israel cam to gidere in the moneth Bethanym, in the solempne dai; thilke is the seuenthe moneth.
3 E tutti gli Anziani d'Israele essendo arrivati, i sacerdoti levarono l'Arca[in su le spalle].
And alle the elde men of Israel camen; and the preestis token the arke,
4 E trasportarono l'Arca del Signore, e il Tabernacolo della convenenza, e tutti i vasellamenti sacri ch'[erano] nel Tabernacolo. I Sacerdoti e i Leviti li trasportarono.
and baren the arke of the Lord, and the tabernacle of boond of pees, and alle vessels of the seyntuarye, that weren in the tabernacle; and the preestis and dekenes baren tho.
5 E il re Salomone, e tutta la raunanza d'Israele che si era adunata appresso di lui, [camminavano] con lui davanti all'Arca, sacrificando pecore e buoi, in tanto numero che non si potevano nè contare,
Sotheli kyng Salomon, and al the multitude of Israel, that camen togidere to hym, yede with hym bifor the arke; and thei offriden scheep and oxis, with out gessyng and noumbre.
6 nè annoverare. Ed i sacerdoti portarono l'Arca del Patto del Signore dentro al suo luogo, nell'Oracolo della Casa, nel Luogo santissimo, sotto alle ale de' Cherubini;
And prestis brouyten the arke of boond of pees of the Lord in to his place, in to Goddis answerynge place of the temple, in to the hooli of hooli thingis, vndur the wengis of cherubyns.
7 perciocchè i Cherubini spandevano le ale sopra il luogo dell'Arca, e coprivano l'Arca, e le sue stanghe, disopra.
Forsothe cherubyns spredden forth wengis ouer the place of the arke; and hiliden the arke, and the barris therof aboue.
8 E tirarono infuori le stanghe, per tutta la lor lunghezza; ed i capi di esse si vedevano dal [Luogo] santo, in su la parte anteriore dell'Oracolo, e non si videro più di fuori; anzi son restate quivi fino a questo giorno.
And whanne the barris stoden forth, and the hiynesse of tho apperiden with out the seyntuarye, bifor `Goddis answerynge place, tho apperyden no ferther with outforth; whiche barris also weren there `til in to present day.
9 Dentro dell'Arca non [vi era] null'altro, che le due Tavole di pietra, che Mosè vi avea riposte in Horeb, quando il Signore fece patto co' figliuoli d'Israele, dopo che furono usciti del paese di Egitto.
Forsothe in the arke is noon other thing, no but twei tablis of stoon, whiche tablis Moyses in Oreb hadde put in the ark, whanne the Lord made boond of pees with the sones of Israel, whanne thei yeden out of the loond of Egipt.
10 Or avvenne che, dopo che i sacerdoti furono usciti fuori del [Luogo] santo, una nuvola riempiè la Casa del Signore.
Forsothe it was doon whanne the preestis hadden go out of the seyntuarie, a cloude fillide the hows of the Lord;
11 Ed i sacerdoti non potevano stare in piè per fare il servigio, per cagione della nuvola; perciocchè la gloria del Signore avea ripiena la Casa del Signore.
and the preestis myyten not stonde and mynystre, for the cloude; for whi the glorye of the Lord hadde fillid the hows of the Lord.
12 ALLORA Salomone disse: Il Signore ha detto ch'egli abiterebbe nella caligine.
Thanne Salomon seide, The Lord seide, that he wolde dwelle in a cloude.
13 Io ti ho pure edificata, [o Signore], una Casa per tuo abitacolo, una stanza per tua dimora in perpetuo.
Y bildynge haue bildid an hows in to thi dwelling place, in to thi moost stidefast trone with outen ende.
14 Poi il re voltò la faccia, e benedisse tutta la raunanza d'Israele (or tutta la raunanza d'Israele stava [quivi] in piè),
And the kyng turnede his face, and blesside al the chirche in Israel; for al the chirche of Israel stood.
15 e disse: Benedetto [sia] il Signore Iddio d'Israele, il quale con la sua bocca parlò a Davide, mio padre, ed ha con la sua mano adempiuto [ciò ch'egli avea detto].
And Salomon seide, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, that spak with his mouth to Dauid, my fadir, and performyde in hise hondis, and seide,
16 Cioè: Dal giorno che io trassi fuor di Egitto il mio popolo Israele, io non ho scelta alcuna città d'infra tutte le tribù d'Israele, per edificar[vi] una Casa, nella quale il mio Nome dimorasse; ma io ho scelto Davide, per istabilirlo sopra il mio popolo Israele.
Fro the dai in which Y ledde my puple Israel out of Egipt, Y chees not a citee of alle the lynagis of Israel, that an hows schulde be bildid, and my name schulde be there; but Y chees Dauid, that he schulde be ouer my puple Israel.
17 Or Davide mio padre ebbe in cuore di edificare una Casa al Signore Iddio d'Israele.
And Dauid, my fadir, wolde bilde an hows to the name of the Lord God of Israel.
18 Ma il Signore disse a Davide, mio padre: Quant'è a quello che tu hai avuto in cuore di edificare una Casa al mio Nome, bene hai fatto di averlo avuto in cuore;
And the Lord seide to Dauid, my fadir, That thou thouytist in thin herte to bilde an hows to my name, thou didist wel, tretynge this same thing in soule;
19 nondimeno tu non edificherai essa Casa; anzi il tuo figliuolo, che uscirà dei tuoi lombi, sarà quello che edificherà questa Casa al mio Nome.
netheles thou schalt not bilde an hows to me, but thi sone, that schal go out of thi reynes, he schal bilde an hows to my name.
20 Il Signore adunque ha messa ad effetto la parola ch'egli avea detta; ed io son surto in luogo di Davide, mio padre, e son seduto sopra il trono d'Israele, siccome il Signore ne avea parlato, ed ho edificata questa Casa al Nome del Signore Iddio d'Israele.
The Lord hath confermyd his word, which he spak; and Y stood for Dauid, my fadir, and Y sat on the trone of Israel, as the Lord spak; and Y haue bildid an hows to the name of the Lord God of Israel.
21 E quivi ho costituito un luogo per l'Arca, nella quale [è] il Patto del Signore, ch'egli fece co' nostri padri, quando li trasse fuor del paese di Egitto.
And Y haue ordeyned there a place of the arke, in which arke the boond of pees of the Lord is, which he smoot with oure fadris, whanne thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt.
22 Poi Salomone si presentò davanti all'Altare del Signore, in presenza di tutta la raunanza d'Israele, ed aperse le palme delle sue mani verso il cielo,
Forsothe Salomon stood bifoor the auter of the Lord, in the siyt of the chirch of Israel; and he helde forth hise hondis ayens heuene,
23 e disse: O Signore Iddio d'Israele, ei non [vi è], nè disopra ne' cieli, nè disotto sopra la terra, alcun dio pari a te, che attieni il patto e la benignità inverso i tuoi servitori, che camminano davanti a te con tutto il cuor loro;
and seide, Lord God of Israel, no God in heuene aboue, nether on erthe bynethe, is lijk thee, which kepist couenaunt and mercy to thi seruauntis, that goon bifor thee in al her herte;
24 che hai attenuto al tuo servitore Davide, mio padre, ciò che tu gli avevi detto; e ciò che tu gli avevi detto con la tua bocca, tu l'hai adempiuto con la tua mano, come oggi [appare].
and thou kepist to Dauid, my fadir, thi seruaunt, tho thingis whiche thou hast spoke to him; bi mouth thou hast spoke, and bi hondis thou hast fillid, as this day preueth.
25 Ora dunque, Signore Iddio di Israele, osserva al tuo servitore Davide, mio padre, ciò che tu gli hai detto; cioè: Ei non ti verrà [giammai] meno, dal mio cospetto, uomo che segga in sul trono d'Israele; purchè i tuoi figliuoli prendano guardia alla via loro, per camminare davanti a me, come tu sei camminato.
Now therfor, Lord God of Israel, kepe thou to thi seruaunt Dauid, my fadir, tho thingis whiche thou spakist to hym, and seidist, A man of thee schal not be taken awei bifor me, which man schal sitte on the trone of Israel, so netheles if thi sones kepen thi weye, that thei go bifor me, as thou yedist in my siyt.
26 Ora dunque, o Dio d'Israele, sia, ti prego, verificata la tua parola, che tu hai detta al tuo servitore Davide, mio padre.
And now, Lord God of Israel, thi wordis be maad stidfast, whiche thou spakist to thi seruaunt Dauid, my fadir.
27 Ma pure veramente abiterà Iddio in su la terra? Ecco, i cieli, ed i cieli de' cieli non ti possono capire; quanto meno questa Casa la quale io ho edificata?
Therfor whether it is to gesse, that God dwellith verily on erthe; for if heuene, and heuene of heuenes moun not take thee, how myche more this hows, which Y bildid to thee, `mai not take thee.
28 Tuttavolta, o Signore Iddio mio, riguarda all'orazione del tuo servitore, ed alla sua supplicazione, per ascoltare il grido, e l'orazione la quale il tuo servitore fa oggi nel tuo cospetto;
But, my Lord God, biholde thou to the preiere of thi seruaunt, and to the bisechyngis of hym; here thou the `ympne, ether preysing, and preiere, which thi seruaunt preieth bifor thee to day;
29 acciocchè gli occhi tuoi sieno aperti, notte e giorno verso questa Casa; verso il luogo del qual tu hai detto: Il mio Nome sarà quivi; per ascoltar l'orazione che il tuo servitore farà, [volgendosi] verso questo luogo.
that thin iyen be openyd on this hows bi niyt and dai, on the hows, of which thou seidist, My name schal be there; that thou here the preier, which thi seruaunt preieth to thee in this place; that thou here the bisechyng of thi seruaunt,
30 Esaudisci adunque la suplicazione del tuo servitore, e del tuo popolo Israele, quando [ti] faranno orazione, [volgendosi] verso questo luogo; ascoltali dal luogo della tua stanza ne' cieli; ed ascoltando[li], perdona [loro].
and of thi puple Israel, what euer thing he preieth in this place, and here thou in the place of thi dwellyng in heuene; and whanne thou hast herd, thou schalt be mercyful.
31 Quando alcuno avrà peccato contro al suo prossimo, ed esso avrà da lui richiesto il giuramento, per farlo giurare; ed il giuramento sarà venuto davanti al tuo Altare, in questa Casa, porgi le orecchie dal cielo,
If a man synneth ayens a man, and hath ony ooth, bi which he is holdun boundun, and cometh for the ooth in to thin hows, bifor thin auter, thou schalt here in heuene,
32 ed opera, e giudica i tuoi servitori, condannando il colpevole, per fargli ritornare in su la testa ciò che egli avrà fatto; ed assolvendo il giusto, per rendergli secondo la sua giustizia.
and thou schalt do, and thou schalt deme thi seruauntis; and thou schalt condempne the wickid man, and schalt yelde his weie on his heed, and thou schalt iustifie the iust man, and schalt yelde to hym vp his riytfulnesse.
33 Quando il tuo popolo Israele sarà stato sconfitto dal nemico, perchè avrà peccato contro a te; se poi si converte a te, e dà gloria al tuo Nome, e ti fa orazione e supplicazione, in questa Casa,
If thi puple Israel fleeth hise enemyes, for he schal do synne to thee, and thei doen penaunce, and knoulechen to thi greet name, and comen, and worschipen, and bisechen thee in this hows,
34 esaudisci[lo] dal cielo, e perdona al tuo popolo Israele il suo peccato, e riconducilo al paese che tu desti a' suoi padri.
here thou in heuene, and foryyue thou the synne of thi puple; and thou schalt lede hem ayen in to the lond, which thou hast youe to the fadris of hem.
35 Quando il cielo sarà serrato, e non pioverà, perchè [i figliuoli d'Israele] avranno peccato contro a te; se essi fanno orazione, [volgendosi] verso questo luogo, e dànno gloria al tuo Nome, e si convertono da' lor peccati, perciocchè tu li avrai afflitti,
If heuene is closid, and reyneth not for the synnes of hem, and thei preyen in this place, and doen penaunce to thi name, and ben conuertid fro her synnes for her turment,
36 esaudisci[li] dal cielo, e perdona a' tuoi servitori, ed al tuo popolo Israele, il lor peccato, dopo che tu avrai loro mostrato il buon cammino, per lo quale hanno da camminare; e manda la pioggia in su la terra, la quale tu hai data per eredità al tuo popolo.
here thou hem in heuene, and foryyue thou the synnes of thi seruauntis, and of thi puple Israel, and schewe thou to hem good weie, bi which thei schulen go, and yyue thou reyn to hem on the lond, which thou hast youe to hem in to possessioun.
37 Quando vi sarà nel paese fame, [o] pestilenza, [od] arsura, [o] rubigine, [o] locuste, [o] bruchi; [ovvero], quando i nemici strigneranno il [tuo popolo], nel paese della sua stanza; [ovvero, quando vi sarà] qualunque piaga, [e] qualunque infermità,
If hungur risith in the lond, ether pestilence is, ether corrupt eyr is, ether rust, ether locuste, ether myldew, and his enemy turmentith hym, and bisegith the yatis, al wounde, al sikenesse, al cursyng,
38 esaudisci ogni orazione, ed ogni supplicazione, che farà qualunque persona, o tutto il tuo popolo Israele, quando ciascuno di loro avrà conosciuta la piaga del suo cuore, ed avrà aperte le palme delle sue mani verso questa Casa.
and wichyng of yuel, that bifallith to ech man of thi puple Israel, if ony man knowith the wounde of his herte, and holdith forth hise hondis in this hows,
39 [Esaudiscila] dal cielo, stanza della tua abitazione, e perdona, ed opera, e rendi a ciascuno secondo ogni sua via, come tu avrai conosciuto il suo cuore; perciocchè tu solo conosci il cuore di tutti i figliuoli degli uomini;
thou schalt here in heuene, in the place of thi dwellyng, and thou schalt do mercy, and thou schalt do that thou yyue to ech man vpe alle hise weies, as thou seest his herte; for thou aloone knowist the herte of alle the sones of men,
40 acciocchè essi ti temano tutto il tempo che viveranno in su la terra che tu hai data a' padri nostri.
that thei drede thee in alle daies in whiche thei lyuen on the face of the lond, which thou hast youe to oure fadrys.
41 Esaudisci eziandio il forestiere che non sarà del tuo popolo Israele, e sarà venuto di lontan paese, per cagione del tuo Nome.
Ferthermore and whanne an alien, which is not of thi puple Israel, cometh fro a fer lond for thi name; for thi grete name, and thi strong hond,
42 Perciocchè udiranno [parlare] del tuo gran Nome, e della tua possente mano, e del tuo braccio steso. Quando adunque un tale sarà venuto, ed avrà fatta orazione in questa Casa,
and thin arm `holdun forth schal be herd euery where; therfor whanne he cometh, and preieth in this place,
43 [esaudiscila] dal cielo, stanza della tua abitazione, e fa' secondo tutto quello per che quel forestiere ti avrà invocato; acciocchè tutti i popoli della terra conoscano il tuo Nome, per temerti, come il tuo popolo Israele; e per conoscere che questa Casa che io ho edificata, si chiama del tuo Nome.
thou schalt here in heuene, in the firmament of thi dwellyng place, and thou schalt do alle thingis, for whiche the alien clepith thee, that alle puplis of londis lerne to drede thi name, as thi puple Israel doith, and preue, that thi name is clepid on this hows, which Y bildide.
44 Quando il tuo popolo sarà uscito in guerra contro a' suoi nemici, per la via per la quale tu lo avrai mandato, e ti avrà fatta, o Signore, orazione [volgendosi] verso la città che tu hai eletta, e verso la Casa che io ho edificata al tuo Nome,
If thi puple goith out to batel ayens hise enemyes, bi the weie whidir euer thou sendist hem, thei schulen preye thee ayens the weie of the citee which thou hast chose, and ayens the hows which Y bildide to thi name,
45 esaudisci dal cielo la sua orazione, e la sua supplicazione, e fagli ragione.
and thou schalt here in heuene the preyeris of hem, and the bisechyngis of hem, and thou schalt make the doom of hem.
46 Quando avranno peccato contro a te (perciocchè non [vi è] uomo alcuno che non pecchi), e tu ti sarai adirato contro a loro, e li avrai messi in potere dei [lor] nemici, e quelli che li avranno presi li avranno menati in cattività, in paese nemico, o lontano, o vicino;
That if thei synnen to thee, for no man is that synneth not, and thou art wrooth, and bitakist hem to her enemyes, and thei ben led prisoneris in to the lond of enemyes,
47 se nel paese, nel quale saranno stati menati in cattività, si ravveggono, e si convertono, e ti supplicano, nel paese di coloro che li avranno menati in cattività, dicendo: Noi abbiamo peccato, e commessa iniquità, noi siamo colpevoli;
fer ether nyy, and thei doon penaunce in her herte in the place of prisonyng, and ben conuertid, and bisechen in her prisonyng, and seien, We han synned, we han do wickidli, we han do vnfeithfuli;
48 se si convertono a te con tutto il cuor loro, e con tutta l'anima loro, nel paese dei loro nemici, che li avranno menati in cattività; e ti fanno orazione, [volgendosi] verso il paese loro, che tu hai dato a' lor padri, [e verso] la città che tu hai eletta, e [verso] la Casa che io ho edificata al tuo Nome,
and thei turnen ayen to thee in al her herte and al her soule, in the lond of her enemyes, to which thei ben led prisoneris, and thei preyen thee ayens the weie of her lond which thou hast youe to her fadris, and of the citee which thou hast chose, and of the temple which Y bildide to thi name, thou schalt here in heuene,
49 esaudisci dal cielo, stanza della tua abitazione, la loro orazione, e la lor supplicazione, e fa' lor ragione.
in the firmament of thi seete, the preiers of hem, and the bisechingis of hem, and thou shalt make the doom of hem;
50 E perdona al tuo popolo che avrà peccato contro a te; [e rimetti] loro tutti i lor misfatti, che avranno commessi contro a te; e rendi loro misericordiosi quelli che li avranno menati in cattività, acciocchè abbiano pietà di loro;
and thou schalt be merciful to thi puple, that synnede to thee, and to alle the wickidnessis, bi whiche thei trespassiden ayens thee; and thou schalt do merci bifor tho men, that hadden hem prisoneris, that tho men do mercy to hem.
51 perciocchè essi [sono] tua gente, e tua eredità, che tu hai tratta fuor di Egitto, di mezzo della fornace di ferro.
For it is thi puple, and thin erytage, whiche thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt, fro the myddis of yrone furneis;
52 Sieno gli occhi tuoi aperti alla supplicazione del tuo servitore, ed alla supplicazione del tuo popolo Israele, per esaudirli in tutto ciò per che t'invocheranno.
that thin yyen be opyn to the bisechyng of thi seruaunt, and of thi puple Israel; and thou schalt here hem in alle thingis, for whiche thei clepen thee.
53 Perciocchè tu li hai messi da parte, per tua eredità, d'infra tutti i popoli della terra, siccome tu ne parlasti per lo tuo servitore Mosè, quando tu traesti fuor di Egitto i padri nostri, o Signore Iddio.
For thou hast departid hem to thee in to heritage fro alle the puplis of erthe, as thou spakist bi Moyses, thi seruaunt, whanne thou, Lord God, leddist oure fadris out of Egipt.
54 Ora, quando Salomone ebbe finito di far tutta questa orazione, e supplicazione al Signore, egli si levò su d'innanzi all'Altare del Signore, dove era stato inginocchione, con le palme delle mani aperte verso il cielo.
Forsothe it was don, whanne Salomon, preiynge the Lord, hadde fillid al this preier and bisechyng, he roos fro the siyt of the auter of the Lord; for he hadde set fast euer either kne to the erthe, and hadde holde forth the hondis to heuene.
55 E rizzatosi in piè, benedisse tutta la raunanza d'Israele, ad alta voce, dicendo:
Therfor he stood, and blesside al the chirche of Israel, and seide with greet vois,
56 Benedetto [sia] il Signore, il quale ha dato riposo al suo popolo Israele, interamente secondo ch'egli ne avea parlato; e' non è caduto a terra nulla di tutte le buone parole ch'egli avea pronunziate per Mosè, suo servitore.
Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, that yaf reste to his puple Israel, bi alle thingis whiche he spak; a word felde not doun, sotheli nether oon, of alle goodis whiche he spak bi Moises, his seruaunt.
57 Il Signore Iddio nostro sia con noi, come è stato co' padri nostri; [il Signore] non ci abbandoni, e non ci lasci;
Oure Lord God be with vs, as he was with oure fadris, and forsake not vs, nether caste awey;
58 per piegare il cuor nostro inverso lui, acciocchè camminiamo in tutte le sue vie, ed osserviamo i suoi comandamenti, ed i suoi statuti, e le sue leggi, ch'egli ha ordinate ai nostri padri.
but bowe he oure hertis to hym silf, that we go in alle hise weies, and kepe hise comaundementis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche euere he comaundide to oure fadris.
59 E queste mie parole, con le quali io ho fatta supplicazione nel cospetto del Signore, stieno presso del Signore Iddio nostro, giorno e notte; acciocchè egli mantenga la ragione del suo servitore, e del suo popolo Israele, secondo che occorrerà giorno per giorno;
And these wordis of me, bi whiche Y preiede bifor the Lord, be neiyynge to oure Lord God bi dai and niyt, that he make doom to his seruaunt, and to his puple Israel bi alle daies;
60 affinchè tutti i popoli della terra conoscano che il Signore [è] Dio, [e che] non [ve n'è] alcun altro.
and alle the puplis of erthe wite, that the Lord hym silf is God, and noon `is ouer `with out hym.
61 Sia dunque il cuor vostro intiero inverso il Signore Iddio nostro, per camminar ne' suoi statuti, e per osservare i suoi comandamenti, come [fate] oggi.
Also oure herte be perfit with oure Lord God, that we go in hise domes, and kepe hise comaundementis, as and to dai.
62 Poi il re, e tutto Israele con lui, sacrificarono sacrificii davanti al Signore.
Therfor the kyng, and al Israel with hym, offriden sacrifices bifor the Lord.
63 E Salomone sacrificò, per sacrificio da render grazie, il quale egli fece al Signore, ventiduemila buoi, e cenventimila pecore. Così il re e tutti i figliuoli d'Israele dedicarono la Casa del Signore.
And Salomon killide pesible sacrifices, whiche he offride to the Lord; of oxis two and twenti thousynde, and of scheep sixe score thousynde; and the king and the sones of Israel halewiden the temple of the Lord.
64 In quel giorno il re dedicò il mezzo del Cortile, ch'[era] davanti alla Casa del Signore; perciocchè sacrificò quivi olocausti ed offerte, e il grasso de' sacrificii da render grazie; perchè l'Altare di rame ch'[era] davanti al Signore, [era] troppo piccolo, per capirvi gli olocausti, e le offerte, e il grasso de' sacrificii da render grazie.
In that dai the kyng halewide the myddil of the greet street, that was bifor the hows of the Lord; for he made there brent sacrifice, and sacrifice, and the innere fatnesse of pesible thingis; for the brasun auter that was bifor the Lord, was to litil, and myyte not take the brent sacrifice, and the sacrifice, and the ynnere fatnesse of pesible thingis.
65 Ed in quel tempo Salomone celebrò la solennità, insieme con tutto Israele, [ch'era] una gran raunanza, [raccolta] dall'entrata di Hamat fino al Torrente di Egitto, davanti al Signore Iddio nostro; [e quella solennità durò] sette giorni, e poi ancora sette [altri], che furono quattordici giorni.
Therfor Salomon made in that tyme a solempne feeste, and al Israel with hym, a grete multitude, fro the entryng of Emath `til to the stronde of Egipt, bifor oure Lord God, in seuene daies and seuene daies, that is, fourtene daies.
