1 Giovanni 1
1 QUELLO che era dal principio, quello che abbiamo udito, quello che abbiam veduto con gli occhi nostri, quello che abbiam contemplato, e che le nostre mani hanno toccato della Parola della vita
It is of what has been in existence from the Beginning, of what we have heard, of what we have seen with our eyes, of what we watched reverently and touched with our hands — it is about the Word who is the Life that we are now writing.
2 (e la vita è stata manifestata, e noi [l]'abbiam veduta, e [ne] rendiam testimonianza, e vi annunziamo la vita eterna, la quale era presso il Padre, e ci è stata manifestata); (aiōnios g166)
That Life was made visible, and we have seen it, and now bear our testimony to it, and tell you of that Immortal Life, which was with the Father and was made visible to us. (aiōnios g166)
3 quello, [dico], che abbiam veduto ed udito, noi ve l'annunziamo; acciocchè ancora voi abbiate comunione con noi, e che la nostra comunione [sia] col Padre, e col suo Figliuol Gesù Cristo.
It is of what we have seen and heard that we now tell you, so that you may have communion with us. And our communion is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 E vi scriviamo queste cose, acciocchè la vostra allegrezza sia compiuta.
And we are writing all this to you that our joy may be complete.
5 OR questo è l'annunzio che abbiamo udito da lui, e il qual vi annunziamo: che Iddio è luce, e che non vi sono in lui tenebre alcune.
These, then, are the Tidings that we have heard from him and now tell you — ‘God is Light, and Darkness has no place at all in him.’
6 Se noi diciamo che abbiamo comunione con lui, e camminiamo nelle tenebre, noi mentiamo, e non procediamo in verità.
If we say that we have communion with him, and yet continue to live in the Darkness, we lie, and are not living the Truth.
7 Ma, se camminiamo nella luce, siccome egli è nella luce, abbiamo comunione egli e noi insieme; e il sangue di Gesù Cristo, suo Figliuolo, ci purga di ogni peccato.
But, if our lives are lived in the Light, as God himself is in the Light, we have communion with one another, and the Blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 SE noi diciamo che non v'è peccato in noi, inganniamo noi stessi, e la verità non è in noi.
If we say that there is no sin in us, we are deceiving ourselves, and the Truth has no place in us.
9 Se confessiamo i nostri peccati, egli è fedele e giusto, per rimetterci i peccati, e purgarci di ogni iniquità.
If we confess our sins, God may be trusted, in his righteousness, to forgive us our sins and purify us from all wickedness.
10 Se diciamo di non aver peccato, lo facciamo bugiardo, e la sua parola non è in noi.
If we say that we have not sinned, we are making God a liar, and his Message has no place in us.
