1 ED I figliuoli d'Issacar[furono] quattro; Tola e Pua, Iasub e Simron.
Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 Ed i figliuoli di Tola [furono] Uzzi, e Refaia, e Ieriel, e Iamai, ed Ibsam, e Samuele, capi delle lor nazioni paterne [discese] di Tola; [ed erano] uomini di valore nelle lor generazioni. Il numero loro, al tempo di Davide, fu di ventiduemila seicento.
Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
3 E il figliuolo di Uzzi fu Izrahia; ed i figliuoli d'Izrahia [furono] Micael, ed Obadia, e Ioel, ed Isia; in tutto cinque capi.
Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
4 Ed [aveano] con loro, per le lor generazioni, e per le famiglie loro paterne, delle schiere di gente, [in numero di] trentaseimila [uomini]; perciocchè essi aveano molte mogli, e molti figliuoli.
In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
5 Ed i lor fratelli, di tutte le [altre] nazioni d'Issacar, uomini di gran valore, annoverati tutti insieme, secondo le lor generazioni, [furono] ottantasettemila.
In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
6 I [FIGLIUOLI di] Beniamino[furono] Bela, e Becher, e Iediael; tre [in tutto].
[Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 Ed i figliuoli di Bela [furono] Esbon, ed Uzzi, ed Uzziel, e Ierimot, ed Iri; cinque capi di famiglie paterne, uomini di gran valore. E [quando] furono annoverati secondo le lor generazioni, [il numero loro fu di] ventiduemila trentaquattro.
Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
8 Ed i figliuoli di Becher [furono] Zemira, e Ioas, ed Eliezer, ed Elioenai, ed Omri, e Ieremot, ed Abia, ed Anatot, ed Alemet. Tutti questi [furono] figliuoli di Becher.
Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
9 Ed essendo annoverati per le lor generazioni, nazioni, e capi delle famiglie paterne, [il numero] loro [fu di] ventimila dugent'uomini di valore.
In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
10 E di Iedial [fu] figliuolo Bilhan. Ed i figliuoli di Bilhan [furono] Ieus, e Beniamino, ed Ehud, e Chenaana, e Zetan, e Tarsis, ed Ahisahar.
Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 Tutti questi [furono] figliuoli di Iediael, [che furono] per capi di [famiglie] paterne, [uomini] di gran valore, [in numero di] diciassettemila dugent'[uomini], che potevano andare alla guerra.
They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
12 E Suppim, ed Huppim, [furono] figliuoli d'Ir; ed Husim [fu] figliuolo di Aher.
Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
13 I figliuoli di Neftali[furono] Iaoel, e Guni, e Ieser, e Sallum; discendenti di Bilha.
Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
14 DI MANASSE [fu] figliuolo Asriel, il quale [la moglie di Galaad] partorì (la concubina Sira di Manasse avea partorito Machir, padre di Galaad.
[This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
15 E Machir prese per moglie la sorella di Huppim, e di Suppim, il cui nome [era] Maaca); il nome dell'altro fu Selofad; Selofad ebbe [solo] figliuole femmine.
Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
16 E Maaca, moglie di Machir, partorì un figliuolo, al quale ella pose nome Peres; poi [un altro] suo fratello, [al quale pose] nome Seres, i cui figliuoli [furono] Ulam e Rechem.
Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 E di Ulam [fu] figliuolo Bedan. Questi [furono] i figliuoli di Galaad figliuolo di Machir, figliuolo di Manasse.
Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
18 E Molechet, sua sorella, partorì Ishod, ed Abiezer, e Mala.
Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 Ed i figliuoli di Semida furono Ahian, e Sechem, e Lichi, ed Aniam.
[One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 E D'EFRAIM[fu] figliuolo Sutela, di cui [fu] figliuolo Bered, di cui [fu] figliuolo Tahad, di cui [fu] figliuolo Elada, di cui [fu] figliuolo Tahat,
[This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.
21 di cui [fu] figliuolo Zabad, di cui [furono] figliuoli Sutela, ed Ezer, ed Elad. Ma que' di Gat, natii del paese, li uccisero; perciocchè erano scesi per predare i lor bestiami.
Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.
22 Ed Efraim, lor padre, ne fece cordoglio molti giorni; ed i suoi fratelli vennero a consolarlo.
Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
23 Poi egli entrò dalla sua moglie, la quale concepette, e partorì un figliuolo; ed egli chiamò il nome di esso Beria; perciocchè [egli era nato] nell'afflizione [ch]'era avvenuta alla sua casa.
Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
24 E la sua figliuola [fu] Seera, la quale edificò Bet-horon disopra, e Bet-horon disotto, e Uzzen-Seera.
Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.
25 E d'esso [Beria fu] figliuolo Refa, di cui [furono] figliuoli Resef e Tela, di cui [fu] figliuolo Tahan,
[Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
26 di cui [fu] figliuolo Ladan, di cui [fu] figliuolo Ammihud, di cui [fu] figliuolo Elisama,
Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
27 di cui [fu] figliuolo Non, di cui [fu] figliuolo Giosuè.
Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
28 E la lor possessione, e le loro abitazioni [furono] Betel, e le terre del suo territorio; e dall'Oriente: Naaran; e dall'Occidente: Ghezer, e le terre del suo territorio; e Sichem, e le terre del suo territorio; ed Aza, e le terre del suo territorio.
[This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.
29 E nella contrada de' figliuoli di Manasse: Betsean, e le terre del suo territorio; Tanac, e le terre del suo territorio; Meghiddo, e le terre del suo territorio; Dor, e le terre del suo territorio. In questi [luoghi] abitarono i figliuoli di Giuseppe, figliuolo d'Israele.
Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
30 I FIGLIUOLI di Aser [furono] Imna, ed Isua, ed Isui, e Beria, e Sera, lor sorella.
Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31 Ed i figliuoli di Beria [furono] Heber, e Malchiel, che [fu] padre di Birzavit.
Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith
32 Ed Heber generò Iaflet, e Somer, ed Hotam; e Sua, lor sorella.
Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.
33 Ed i figliuoli di Iaflet [furono] Pasac, e Bimhal, ed Asvat. Questi [furono] i figliuoli di Iaflet.
Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.
34 Ed i figliuoli di Semer [furono] Ahi, e Rohega, e Iehubba, ed Aram.
Japhlet’s [younger] brother was Shomer. Shomer’s sons were Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 Ed i figliuoli di Helem, fratello di esso, [furono] Sofa, ed Imna, e Seles, ed Amal.
Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 I figliuoli di Sofa [furono] Sua, ed Harnefer, e Sual, e Beri, ed Imra,
Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 e Beser, ed Hod, e Samma, e Silsa, ed Itran, e Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
38 Ed i figliuoli di Ieter [furono] Gefunne, e Pispa, ed Ara.
Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 Ed i figliuoli di Ulla [furono] Ara, ed Hanniel, e Risia.
[Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 Tutti costoro [furono] figliuoli di Aser, capi di famiglie paterne, [uomini] scelti, e di gran valore, capi de' principali. Ed essendo annoverati per le lor generazioni, il numero loro, per andare alla guerra, [fu di] ventiseimila uomini.
All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
