Salmi 51
1 Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide. Quando venne da lui il profeta Natan dopo che aveva peccato con Betsabea. Pietà di me, o Dio, secondo la tua misericordia; nella tua grande bontà cancella il mio peccato.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according to the multitude of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
2 Lavami da tutte le mie colpe, mondami dal mio peccato.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 Riconosco la mia colpa, il mio peccato mi sta sempre dinanzi.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me.
4 Contro di te, contro te solo ho peccato, quello che è male ai tuoi occhi, io l'ho fatto; perciò sei giusto quando parli, retto nel tuo giudizio.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest.
5 Ecco, nella colpa sono stato generato, nel peccato mi ha concepito mia madre.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Ma tu vuoi la sincerità del cuore e nell'intimo m'insegni la sapienza.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purificami con issopo e sarò mondo; lavami e sarò più bianco della neve.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Fammi sentire gioia e letizia, esulteranno le ossa che hai spezzato.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Distogli lo sguardo dai miei peccati, cancella tutte le mie colpe.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Crea in me, o Dio, un cuore puro, rinnova in me uno spirito saldo.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Non respingermi dalla tua presenza e non privarmi del tuo santo spirito.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Rendimi la gioia di essere salvato, sostieni in me un animo generoso.
Restore to me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me [with thy] free spirit.
13 Insegnerò agli erranti le tue vie e i peccatori a te ritorneranno.
[Then] will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted to thee.
14 Liberami dal sangue, Dio, Dio mia salvezza, la mia lingua esalterà la tua giustizia.
Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: [and] my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 Signore, apri le mie labbra e la mia bocca proclami la tua lode;
O LORD, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.
16 poiché non gradisci il sacrificio e, se offro olocausti, non li accetti.
For thou desirest not sacrifice: else would I give [it]: thou delightest not in burnt-offering.
17 Uno spirito contrito è sacrificio a Dio, un cuore affranto e umiliato, Dio, tu non disprezzi.
The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Nel tuo amore fa grazia a Sion, rialza le mura di Gerusalemme.
Do good in thy good pleasure to Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Allora gradirai i sacrifici prescritti, l'olocausto e l'intera oblazione, allora immoleranno vittime sopra il tuo altare.
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt-offering and whole burnt-offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thy altar.
