Salmi 47

1 Al maestro del coro. Dei figli di Core. Salmo. Applaudite, popoli tutti, acclamate Dio con voci di gioia;

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. Oh clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

2 perché terribile è il Signore, l'Altissimo, re grande su tutta la terra.

For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is a great King over all the earth.

3 Egli ci ha assoggettati i popoli, ha messo le nazioni sotto i nostri piedi.

He subdues nations under us, and peoples under our feet.

4 La nostra eredità ha scelto per noi, vanto di Giacobbe suo prediletto.

He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. (Selah)

5 Ascende Dio tra le acclamazioni, il Signore al suono di tromba.

God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Cantate inni a Dio, cantate inni; cantate inni al nostro re, cantate inni;

Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our King! Sing praises!

7 perché Dio è re di tutta la terra, cantate inni con arte.

For God is the King of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.

8 Dio regna sui popoli, Dio siede sul suo trono santo.

God reigns over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.

9 I capi dei popoli si sono raccolti con il popolo del Dio di Abramo, perché di Dio sono i potenti della terra: egli è l'Altissimo.

The princes of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God. He is greatly exalted!
