Salmi 146

1 Loda il Signore, anima mia: Alleluia.

Hallelujah. Praise, O my soul, the Lord.

2 loderò il Signore per tutta la mia vita, finché vivo canterò inni al mio Dio.

I will praise the Lord throughout my life: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

3 Non confidate nei potenti, in un uomo che non può salvare.

Put not your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

4 Esala lo spirito e ritorna alla terra; in quel giorno svaniscono tutti i suoi disegni.

When his spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his [native] earth: on that very day perish his thoughts.

5 Beato chi ha per aiuto il Dio di Giacobbe, chi spera nel Signore suo Dio,

[But] happy is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is on the Lord his God;

6 creatore del cielo e della terra, del mare e di quanto contiene. Egli è fedele per sempre,

Who hath made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

7 rende giustizia agli oppressi, dà il pane agli affamati. Il Signore libera i prigionieri,

Who executeth justice for the oppressed: who giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseneth the prisoners;

8 il Signore ridona la vista ai ciechi, il Signore rialza chi è caduto, il Signore ama i giusti,

The Lord causeth the blind to see; the Lord raiseth up those who are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous:

9 il Signore protegge lo straniero, egli sostiene l'orfano e la vedova, ma sconvolge le vie degli empi.

The Lord guardeth the strangers; the fatherless and widow he helpeth up; but the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.

10 Il Signore regna per sempre, il tuo Dio, o Sion, per ogni generazione.

The Lord will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.
