Salmi 125

1 Chi confida nel Signore è come il monte Sion: non vacilla, è stabile per sempre. Canto delle ascensioni.

THEY that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

2 I monti cingono Gerusalemme: il Signore è intorno al suo popolo ora e sempre.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

3 Egli non lascerà pesare lo scettro degli empi sul possesso dei giusti, perché i giusti non stendano le mani a compiere il male.

For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 La tua bontà, Signore, sia con i buoni e con i retti di cuore.

Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

5 Quelli che vanno per sentieri tortuosi il Signore li accomuni alla sorte dei malvagi. Pace su Israele!

As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
