Salmi 109
1 Dio della mia lode, non tacere, Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.
Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise,
2 poiché contro di me si sono aperte la bocca dell'empio e dell'uomo di frode; parlano di me con lingua di menzogna.
for they have opened against me the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.
3 Mi investono con parole di odio, mi combattono senza motivo.
They have also encompassed me about with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
4 In cambio del mio amore mi muovono accuse, mentre io sono in preghiera.
For my love they are my adversaries, but I make prayer.
5 Mi rendono male per bene e odio in cambio di amore.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Suscita un empio contro di lui e un accusatore stia alla sua destra.
Set thou a wicked man over him, and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
7 Citato in giudizio, risulti colpevole e il suo appello si risolva in condanna.
When he is judged, let him come forth guilty, and let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Pochi siano i suoi giorni e il suo posto l'occupi un altro.
Let his days be few, and let another take his office.
9 I suoi figli rimangano orfani e vedova sua moglie.
Let his sons be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Vadano raminghi i suoi figli, mendicando, siano espulsi dalle loro case in rovina.
Let his sons be vagabonds, and beg, and let them seek out of their desolate places.
11 L'usuraio divori tutti i suoi averi e gli estranei faccian preda del suo lavoro.
Let a creditor exact all that he has, and let strangers make spoil of his labor.
12 Nessuno gli usi misericordia, nessuno abbia pietà dei suoi orfani.
Let there be none to extend kindness to him, nor let there be any to have pity on his fatherless sons.
13 La sua discendenza sia votata allo sterminio, nella generazione che segue sia cancellato il suo nome.
Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 L'iniquità dei suoi padri sia ricordata al Signore, il peccato di sua madre non sia mai cancellato.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Jehovah, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Siano davanti al Signore sempre ed egli disperda dalla terra il loro ricordo.
Let them be before Jehovah continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth,
16 Perché ha rifiutato di usare misericordia e ha perseguitato il misero e l'indigente, per far morire chi è affranto di cuore.
because he did not remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart, to kill.
17 Ha amato la maledizione: ricada su di lui! Non ha voluto la benedizione: da lui si allontani!
Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him. And he did not delight in blessing, and it was far from him.
18 Si è avvolto di maledizione come di un mantello: è penetrata come acqua nel suo intimo e come olio nelle sue ossa.
He also clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, and it came into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Sia per lui come vestito che lo avvolge, come cintura che sempre lo cinge.
Let it be to him as the raiment with which he covers himself, and for the belt with which he is girded continually.
20 Sia questa da parte del Signore la ricompensa per chi mi accusa, per chi dice male contro la mia vita.
This is the reward of my adversaries from Jehovah, and of those who speak evil against my soul.
21 Ma tu, Signore Dio, agisci con me secondo il tuo nome: salvami, perché buona è la tua grazia.
But deal thou with me, O Jehovah the Lord, for thy name's sake. Because thy loving kindness is good, deliver thou me,
22 Io sono povero e infelice e il mio cuore è ferito nell'intimo.
for I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Scompaio come l'ombra che declina, sono sbattuto come una locusta.
I am gone like the shadow when it declines. I am tossed up and down as the locust.
24 Le mie ginocchia vacillano per il digiuno, il mio corpo è scarno e deperisce.
My knees are weak through fasting, and my flesh fails of fatness.
25 Sono diventato loro oggetto di scherno, quando mi vedono scuotono il capo.
I also have become a reproach to them. When they see me, they shake their head.
26 Aiutami, Signore mio Dio, salvami per il tuo amore.
Help me, O Jehovah my God. O save me according to thy loving kindness,
27 Sappiano che qui c'è la tua mano: tu, Signore, tu hai fatto questo.
that they may know that this is thy hand, that thou, Jehovah, have done it.
28 Maledicano essi, ma tu benedicimi; insorgano quelli e arrossiscano, ma il tuo servo sia nella gioia.
Let them curse, but bless thou. When they arise, they shall be put to shame, but thy servant shall rejoice.
29 Sia coperto di infamia chi mi accusa e sia avvolto di vergogna come d'un mantello.
Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor, and let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.
30 Alta risuoni sulle mie labbra la lode del Signore, lo esalterò in una grande assemblea;
I will give great thanks to Jehovah with my mouth. Yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 poiché si è messo alla destra del povero per salvare dai giudici la sua vita.
For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who judge his soul.
