Michea 7

1 Ahimè! Sono diventato come uno spigolatore d'estate, come un racimolatore dopo la vendemmia! Non un grappolo da mangiare, non un fico per la mia voglia.

Alas for me! for I am become as gatherings of summer fruit, as gleaning-grapes in harvest, there is no cluster to eat, the first ripe fruit, my soul, craved.

2 L'uomo pio è scomparso dalla terra, non c'è più un giusto fra gli uomini: tutti stanno in agguato per spargere sangue; ognuno dà la caccia con la rete al fratello.

Perished is the man of lovingkindness out of the earth, and, upright among men, is there none, —they all, for bloodshed, lie in wait. Every man—for his brother, do they hunt as for one devoted to destruction.

3 Le loro mani son pronte per il male; il principe avanza pretese, il giudice si lascia comprare, il grande manifesta la cupidigia e così distorcono tutto.

Of wickedness with both hands to make sure, the ruler, doth make demand—and the judge—for a recompense, —and, as for the great man, he, is putting into words the desire of his soul, So have they woven the net!

4 Il migliore di loro non è che un pruno, il più retto una siepe di spine. Il giorno predetto dalle tue sentinelle, il giorno del castigo è giunto, adesso è la loro rovina.

The best of them, is as a sharp briar, and, the most upright, worse than a thorn hedge, The day of thy watchmen—of thy visitation, hath come, Now, shall be their confusion!

5 Non credete all'amico, non fidatevi del compagno. Custodisci le porte della tua bocca davanti a colei che riposa vicino a te.

Do not trust in a friend, do not put confidence in an associate, —from her that lieth in thy bosom, keep thou the doors of thy mouth;

6 Il figlio insulta suo padre, la figlia si rivolta contro la madre, la nuora contro la suocera e i nemici dell'uomo sono quelli di casa sua.

For, the son, treateth as foolish, the father, and, the daughter, riseth up against, her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, —The foes of a man, are the men of his own house.

7 Ma io volgo lo sguardo al Signore, spero nel Dio della mia salvezza, il mio Dio m'esaudirà.

But, I, for Yahweh, will watch, I will wait for the God of my salvation, —My God, will hear me.

8 Non gioire della mia sventura, o mia nemica! Se son caduta, mi rialzerò; se siedo nelle tenebre, il Signore sarà la mia luce.

Do not rejoice, O mine enemy, against me, Though I fall, I shall rise again! Though I sit in darkness, Yahweh, is a light to me.

9 Sopporterò lo sdegno del Signore perchè ho peccato contro di lui, finchè egli tratti la mia causa e mi renda ragione, finchè mi faccia uscire alla luce e io veda la sua giustizia.

The indignation of Yahweh, will I bear, for I have sinned against him, —until he take up my controversy, then will he do me justice, he will bring me forth to the light, I shall behold his righteousness.

10 La mia nemica lo vedrà e sarà coperta di vergogna, lei che mi diceva: «Dov'è il Signore tuo Dio?». I miei occhi gioiranno nel vederla calpestata come fango della strada.

So shall she who had been mine enemy fear, and shame, shall cover her, who used to say unto me—Where is Yahweh thy God? Mine own eyes, shall look upon her, Now, shall she become one to he trodden down, like the mire of the lanes.

11 E' il giorno in cui le tue mura saranno riedificate; in quel giorno più ampi saranno i tuoi confini;

On the day for building thy walls, —on that day, far away shall be thy boundary:

12 in quel giorno si verrà a te dall'Assiria fino all'Egitto, dall'Egitto fino all'Eufrate, da mare a mare, da monte a monte.

The very day, that, against thee, shall one come from Assyria, and [from] the cities of Egypt; yea from Egypt, even unto the River, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain:

13 La terra diventerà un deserto a causa dei suoi abitanti, a motivo delle loro azioni.

Though the land become a desolation, because of them that dwell therein, —by reason of the fruit of their doings.

14 Pasci il tuo popolo con la tua verga, il gregge della tua eredità, che sta solitario nella foresta in mezzo ai giardini; pascolino in Basàn e in Gàlaad come nei tempi antichi.

Shepherd thou thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine inheritance, Dwell thou alone, a jungle in the midst of a fruitful field, —Let them feed in Bashan and in Gilead, as in the days of age-past times.

15 Come quando sei uscito dall'Egitto, mostraci cose prodigiose.

As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, will I shew him wonders.

16 Vedranno le genti e resteranno deluse di tutta la loro potenza. Si porranno la mano sulla bocca, i loro orecchi ne resteranno assorditi.

Nations, shall see, that they may turn pale at all their valour, —they shall lay hand on mouth, their ears, shall be silent:

17 Leccheranno la polvere come il serpente, come i rettili della terra; usciranno tremanti dai loro nascondigli, trepideranno e di te avranno timore.

They shall lick the dust like the serpent, Like the crawlers of the earth, shall they come quaking out of their fastnesses, —Towards Yahweh our God, shall they pay adoration, and shall fear because of thee.

18 Qual dio è come te, che toglie l'iniquità e perdona il peccato al resto della sua eredità; che non serba per sempre l'ira, ma si compiace d'usar misericordia?

Who is a GOD like unto thee, taking away the iniquity—and passing over the transgression—of the remnant of his inheritance? He hath not held fast, perpetually, his anger, for, one who delighteth in lovingkindness, is he!

19 Egli tornerà ad aver pietà di noi, calpesterà le nostre colpe. Tu getterai in fondo al mare tutti i nostri peccati.

He will again have compassion upon us, he will subdue our iniquities, —Thou wilt cast—into the depths of the sea—all their sins.

20 Conserverai a Giacobbe la tua fedeltà, ad Abramo la tua benevolenza, come hai giurato ai nostri padri fino dai tempi antichi.

Thou wilt grant—the faithfulness to Jacob, the lovingkindness to Abraham, —which thou didst swear to our fathers, from the days of ancient time.
