Michea 6
1 Ascoltate dunque ciò che dice il Signore: «Su, fà lite con i monti e i colli ascoltino la tua voce!
Hear ye now what Yhwh saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
2 Ascoltate, o monti, il processo del Signore e porgete l'orecchio, o perenni fondamenta della terra, perchè il Signore è in lite con il suo popolo, intenta causa con Israele.
Hear ye, O mountains, Yhwh's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for Yhwh hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
3 Popolo mio, che cosa ti ho fatto? In che cosa ti ho stancato? Rispondimi.
O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
4 Forse perché ti ho fatto uscire dall'Egitto, ti ho ridi schiavitù e ho mandato davanti a te Mosè, Aronne e Maria?
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
5 Popolo mio, ricorda le trame di Balàk re di Moab, e quello che gli rispose Bàlaam, figlio di Beor. Ricordati di quello che è avvenuto da Sittìm a Gàlgala, per riconoscere i benefici del Signore».
O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of Yhwh.
6 Con che cosa mi presenterò al Signore, mi prostrerò al Dio altissimo? Mi presenterò a lui con olocausti, con vitelli di un anno?
Wherewith shall I come before Yhwh, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
7 Gradirà il Signore le migliaia di montoni e torrenti di olio a miriadi? Gli offrirò forse il mio primogenito per la mia colpa, il frutto delle mie viscere per il mio peccato?
Will Yhwh be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 Uomo, ti è stato insegnato ciò che è buono e ciò che richiede il Signore da te: praticare la giustizia, amare la pietà, camminare umilmente con il tuo Dio.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Yhwh require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
9 La voce del Signore grida alla città! Ascoltate tribù e convenuti della città:
Yhwh's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
10 Ci sono ancora nella casa dell'empio i tesori ingiustamente acquistati e le misure scarse, detestabili?
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
11 Potrò io giustificare le false bilance e il sacchetto di pesi falsi?
Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
12 I ricchi della città sono pieni di violenza e i suoi abitanti dicono menzogna.
For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
13 Anch'io ho cominciato a colpirti, a devastarti per i tuoi peccati.
Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.
14 Mangerai, ma non ti sazierai, e la tua fame rimarrà in te; metterai da parte, ma nulla salverai e se qualcuno salverai io lo consegnerò alla spada.
Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
15 Seminerai, ma non mieterai, frangerai le olive, ma non ti ungerai d'olio; produrrai mosto, ma non berrai il vino.
Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.
16 Tu osservi gli statuti di Omri e tutte le pratiche della casa di Acab, e segui i loro propositi, perciò io farò di te una desolazione, i tuoi abitanti oggetto di scherno e subirai l'obbrobrio dei popoli.
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
