Giosué 21

1 I capifamiglia dei leviti si presentarono al sacerdote Eleazaro, a Giosuè figlio di Nun e ai capifamiglia delle tribù degli Israeliti

Then came near the ancestral heads of the Levites, unto Eleazar, the priest, and unto Joshua son of Nun, —and unto the ancestral heads of the tribes, of the sons of Israel;

2 e dissero loro a Silo, nel paese di Canaan: «Il Signore ha comandato, per mezzo di Mosè, che ci fossero date città da abitare con i loro pascoli per il nostro bestiame».

and spake unto them in Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying: Yahweh himself, commanded, by the hand of Moses, that there should be given unto us cities to dwell in, —with their pasture-lands for our cattle.

3 Gli Israeliti diedero ai leviti, sorteggiandole dal loro possesso, le seguenti città con i loro pascoli, secondo il comando del Signore.

So the sons of Israel gave unto the Levites, out of their own inheritance, at the bidding of Yahweh, —these cities, with their pasture-lands.

4 Si tirò a sorte per le famiglie dei Keatiti; fra i leviti, i figli del sacerdote Aronne ebbero in sorte tredici città della tribù di Giuda, della tribù di Simeone e della tribù di Beniamino.

And, when the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites, then had the sons of Aaron the priest, from among the Levites—out of the tribe of Judah and out of the tribe of the Simeonites and out of the tribe of Benjamin—by lot, thirteen cities.

5 Al resto dei Keatiti toccarono in sorte dieci città delle famiglie della tribù di Efraim, della tribù di Dan e di metà della tribù di Manàsse.

And, the sons of Kohath that remained, had—out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim and out of the tribe of Dan and out of the half tribe of Manasseh—by lot, ten cities.

6 Ai figli di Gherson toccarono in sorte tredici città delle famiglie della tribù d'Issacar, della tribù di Aser, della tribù di Nèftali e di metà della tribù di Manàsse in Basan.

And, the sons of Gershon, had—out of families of the tribe of Issachar and out of the tribe of Asher and out of the tribe of Naphtali and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan—by lot, thirteen cities.

7 Ai figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie, toccarono dodici città della tribù di Ruben, della tribù di Gad e della tribù di Zàbulon.

The sons of Merari, by their families, had—out of the tribe of Reuben and out of the tribe of Gad and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

8 Gli Israeliti diedero dunque a sorte queste città con i loro pascoli ai leviti, come il Signore aveva comandato per mezzo di Mosè.

So the sons of Israel gave unto the Levites these cities, with their pasture lands, —as Yahweh commanded, by the hand of Moses, by lot.

9 Diedero, cioè, della tribù dei figli di Giuda e della tribù dei figli di Simeone le città qui nominate.

Thus then they gave—out of the tribe of the sons of Judah and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon—these cities which are mentioned by name.

10 Esse toccarono ai figli d'Aronne tra le famiglie dei Keatiti, figli di Levi, perché il primo sorteggio fu per loro.

And the sons of Aaron, from among the sons of Kohath, from among the sons of Levi, had them, —because, theirs, was the first lot;

11 Furono dunque date loro Kiriat-Arba, padre di Anak, cioè Ebron, sulle montagne di Giuda, con i suoi pascoli tutt'intorno;

yea there was given unto them, the city of Arba, the father of Anak, the same, is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, —with the pasture land thereof, round about it;

12 ma diedero i campi di questa città e i suoi villaggi come possesso a Caleb, figlio di Iefunne.

whereas, the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they unto Caleb son of Jephunneh, as his possession.

13 Diedero ai figli del sacerdote Aronne Ebron, città di rifugio per l'omicida, con i suoi pascoli; poi Libna e i suoi pascoli,

But, unto the sons of Aaron the priest, gave they the city of refuge for the manslayer, even Hebron, with the pasture lands thereof, —Libnah also, with her pasture lands;

14 Iattir e i suoi pascoli, Estemoa e i suoi pascoli,

and Jattir with her pasture land, and Eshtemoa with her pasture land;

15 Debir e i suoi pascoli, Colon e i suoi pascoli,

and Holon, with her pasture land, and Debir, with her pasture land;

16 Ain e i suoi pascoli, Iutta e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Semes e i suoi pascoli: nove città di queste tribù.

and Ain, with her pasture land, and Juttah, with her pasture land, Beth-shemesh, with her pasture land, —nine cities, out of these two tribes.

17 Della tribù di Beniamino, Gàbaon e i suoi pascoli, Ghega e i suoi pascoli,

And, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon, with her pasture land, —Geba, with her pasture land;

18 Anatot e i suoi pascoli, Almon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.

Anathoth, with her pasture land, and Almon, with her pasture land, —four cities.

19 Totale delle città dei sacerdoti figli d'Aronne: tredici città e i loro pascoli.

All the cities of the sons of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities, with their pasture lands.

20 Alle famiglie dei Keatiti, cioè al resto dei leviti, figli di Keat, toccarono città della tribù di Efraim.

And, as for the families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, which remained of the sons of Kohath, the cities of their lot were out of the tribe of Ephraim.

21 Fu loro data, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Sichem e i suoi pascoli sulle montagne di Efraim; poi Ghezer e i suoi pascoli,

So they gave unto them a city of refuge for the manslayer, even Shechem with her pasture land, in the hill country of Ephraim, —also Gezer, with her pasture land;

22 Chibsaim e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Coron e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.

and Kibzaim, with her pasture land, and Beth-horon, with her pasture land, —four cities.

23 Della tribù di Dan: Elteke e i suoi pascoli, Ghibbeton e i suoi pascoli,

And, out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke, with her pasture land, —Gibbethon, with her pasture land;

24 Aialon e i suoi pascoli, Gat-Rimmon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.

Aijalon, with her pasture land, Gath-rimmon, with her pasture land, —four cities.

25 Di metà della tribù di Manàsse: Taanach e i suoi pascoli, Ibleam e i suoi pascoli: due città.

And, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Taanach, with her pasture land, and Gath-rimmon, with her pasture land, —two cities.

26 Totale: dieci città con i loro pascoli, che toccarono alle famiglie degli altri figli di Keat.

All the cities, were ten, with their pasture lands: for the families of the sons of Kohath which remained.

27 Ai figli di Gherson, che erano tra le famiglie dei leviti, furono date: di metà della tribù di Manàsse, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Golan in Basan e i suoi pascoli, Astarot con i suoi pascoli: due città;

And, the sons of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, had, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, a city of refuge for the manslayer, even Golan in Bashan, with her pasture land, and Be-eshterah, with her pasture land, —two cities.

28 della tribù d'Issacar, Kision e i suoi pascoli, Daberat e i suoi pascoli,

And, out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion, with her pasture land, —Daberath, with her pasture land;

29 Iarmut e i suoi pascoli, En-Gannim e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;

Jarmuth, with her pasture land, En-gannim, with her pasture land, —four cities.

30 della tribù di Aser, Miseal e i suoi pascoli, Abdon e i suoi pascoli;

And, out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal, with her pasture land, Abdon, with her pasture land;

31 Elkat e i suoi pascoli, Recob e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;

Helkath, with her pasture land, and Rehob, with her pasture land, —four cities.

32 della tribù di Nèftali, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Kades in Galilea e i suoi pascoli, Ammot-Dor e i suoi pascoli, Kartan con i suoi pascoli: tre città.

And, out of the tribe of Naphtali, a city of refuge for the manslayer—even Kedesh in Galilee, with her pasture land, and Hammoth-dor, with her pasture land, and Kartan, with her pasture land, —three cities.

33 Totale delle città dei Ghersoniti, secondo le loro famiglie: tredici città e i loro pascoli.

All, the cities of the Gershonites, by their families, were thirteen cities, with their pasture lands.

34 Alle famiglie dei figli di Merari, cioè al resto dei leviti, furono date: della tribù di Zàbulon, Iokneam e i suoi pascoli, Karta e i suoi pascoli,

And, unto the families of the sons of Merari, the Levites that remained, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam, with her pasture land, —Kartah, with her pasture land;

35 Dimna e i suoi pascoli, Naalal e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;

Dimnah, with her pasture land, Nahalal, with her pasture land, —four cities.

36 della tribù di Ruben, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Bezer e i suoi pascoli, Iaas e i suoi pascoli,

And, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer, with her pasture land, —and Jahaz, with her pasture land;

37 Kedemot e i suoi pascoli, Mefaat e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;

Kedemoth, with her pasture land and Mephaath, with her pasture land, —four cities.

38 della tribù di Gad, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Ramot in Gàlaad e i suoi pascoli, Macanaim e i suoi pascoli,

And, out of the tribe of Gad, a city of refuge for the manslayer—even Ramoth in Gilead, with her pasture land, —and Mahanaim, with her pasture land;

39 Chesbon e i suoi pascoli, Iazer e i suoi pascoli: in tutto quattro città.

Heshbon, with her pasture land, Jazer, with her pasture land, —in all, four cities.

40 Totale delle città date in sorte ai figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie, cioè il resto delle famiglie dei leviti: dodici città.

All the cities for the sons of Merari, by their families, who remained of the families of the Levites, yea their lot was, twelve, cities.

41 Totale delle città dei leviti in mezzo ai possessi degli Israeliti: quarantotto città e i loro pascoli.

All the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were forty-eight cities, with their pasture lands:

42 Ciascuna di queste città aveva intorno il pascolo; così era di tutte queste città.

these cities passed, each severally, with its pasture lands round about it; thus, was it with all these cities.

43 Il Signore diede dunque a Israele tutto il paese che aveva giurato ai padri di dar loro e gli Israeliti ne presero possesso e vi si stabilirono.

So Yahweh gave unto Israel, all the land which he had sworn to give unto their fathers, —and they took possession thereof, and dwelt therein.

44 Il Signore diede loro tranquillità intorno, come aveva giurato ai loro padri; nessuno di tutti i loro nemici potè resistere loro; il Signore mise in loro potere tutti quei nemici.

And Yahweh gave them rest round about, according to all that he had sworn unto their fathers, —and there stood not a man before them, of all their enemies; all their enemies, did Yahweh deliver into their hand.

45 Di tutte le belle promesse che il Signore aveva fatte alla casa d'Israele, non una andò a vuoto: tutto giunse a compimento.

There failed not a thing, out of all the good things, whereof Yahweh had spoken unto the house of Israel, —the whole, came to pass.
