Ezechiele 30

1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:

And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Gemete: Ah, quel giorno! «Figlio dell'uomo, predici dicendo: Dice il Signore Dio:

Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Wail ye, Woe unto the day!

3 Perché il giorno è vicino, vicino è il giorno del Signore, giorno di nubi sarà il giorno delle nazioni.

For nigh is the day, yea nigh is the day of the Lord; a cloudy day; the time of the nations' [misfortune] shall it be.

4 La spada verrà sull'Egitto e ci sarà l'angoscia in Etiopia, quando cadranno in Egitto i trafitti, le sue ricchezze saranno asportate e le sue fondamenta disfatte.

And the sword shall come into Egypt, and there shall be trembling in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt, and when they take away its multitude, and its foundations shall be broken down.

5 Etiopia, Put e Lud e stranieri d'ogni specie e Cub e i figli del paese dell'alleanza cadranno con loro di spada.

Ethiopia, and Put, and Lud, and all the confederates, and Cub, and all the men of the leagued land, shall fall with them by the sword.

6 Dice il Signore: Cadranno gli alleati dell'Egitto e sarà abbattuto l'orgoglio della sua forza: da Migdòl fino ad Assuan cadranno di spada. Parola del Signore Dio.

Thus hath said the Lord, Yea, there shall fall those that uphold Egypt; and there shall come down the pride of her strength: from Migdol to Seveneh shall they fall in her by the sword, saith the Lord Eternal.

7 Sarà un deserto fra terre devastate e le sue città fra città desolate.

And they shall be made desolate in the midst of the desolate countries, and its cities shall be counted in the midst of the cities that have been laid in ruins.

8 Sapranno che io sono il Signore quando darò fuoco all'Egitto e tutti i suoi sostenitori saranno schiacciati.

And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I set fire to Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be broken.

9 In quel giorno partiranno da me messaggeri su navi a spargere il terrore in Etiopia che si crede sicura, e in essa vi sarà spavento nel giorno dell'Egitto, poiché ecco gia viene».

On that day shall messengers go forth from my presence in ships to terrify the secure Ethiopians, and there shall be trembling among them, as on the day of Egypt; for, lo, it cometh.

10 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Farò cessare il tumultuare dell'Egitto per mezzo di Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia.

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will also cause the multitude of Egypt to cease through the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon.

11 Egli e il suo popolo, il più violento dei popoli, saranno inviati a devastare il paese e sguaineranno la loro spada contro l'Egitto e riempiranno il terreno di cadaveri.

He and his people with him, the fiercest of nations, shall be brought to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and they shall fill the land with the slain.

12 Farò seccare i fiumi e darò il paese in mano a genti barbare, devasterò il territorio e ciò che contiene, per mezzo di stranieri: io, il Signore, l'ho detto».

And I will render the streams dry, and sell the land into the hand of evil men; and I will make the land desolate, and all that filleth it, by the hand of strangers: I the Lord have spoken it.

13 Dice il Signore Dio: «Distruggerò gli idoli e farò sparire gli dei da Menfi. Non ci sarà più principe nel paese d'Egitto, vi spanderò il terrore,

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause false gods to cease out of Noph; and a prince out of the land of Egypt shall there not be any more: and I will lay fear on the land of Egypt.

14 devasterò Patròs, darò fuoco a Tanis, farò giustizia su Tebe.

And I will make Pathros desolate, and set fire to Zo'an; and I will execute judgments in No.

15 Scatenerò l'ira su Sin, la roccaforte d'Egitto, sterminerò la moltitudine di Tebe.

And I will pour my fury over Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

16 Metterò a fuoco l'Egitto: Sin si torcerà dal dolore, Tebe sarà squassata, Menfi sarà smantellata dai nemici in pieno giorno.

And I will set fire to Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be broken in, and [over] Noph shall the besiegers [prevail] by broad day.

17 I giovani di Eliòpoli e di Bubàste cadranno di spada e queste città andranno in schiavitù.

The young men of Aven and of Pi-besseth shall fall by the sword; and they themselves shall go into captivity.

18 In Tafni si oscurerà il giorno, quando vi spezzerò i gioghi imposti dall'Egitto e verrà meno in lei l'orgoglio della sua potenza; una nube la coprirà e le sue figlie saranno condotte schiave.

And at Thechaphneches the day shall be darkened, when I break there the yoke-bars of Egypt, and the pride of her strength ceaseth therein: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 Farò giustizia dell'Egitto e si saprà che io sono il Signore».

Thus will I execute judgments on Egypt: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

20 Al settimo giorno del primo mese dell'undecimo anno, mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

21 «Figlio dell'uomo, ho spezzato il braccio del faraone re d'Egitto; egli non è stato curato con medicamenti né fasciato con bende per fargli riprender forza e maneggiare la spada».

Son of man, the arm of Pharaoh the king of Egypt have I broken; and lo, it shall not be bound up to apply remedies, to put on a bandage to bind it up, to make it strong that it may grasp the sword.

22 Perciò dice il Signore Dio: «Eccomi contro il faraone re d'Egitto: gli spezzerò il braccio ancora valido e gli farò cadere la spada di mano.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and will break his arms, both the strong, and that which was already broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

23 Disperderò gli Egiziani fra le genti e li disperderò in altre regioni.

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and I will disperse them through the countries.

24 Invece rafforzerò le braccia del re di Babilonia e nella sua mano porrò la mia spada: spezzerò le braccia del faraone che gemerà davanti a lui come geme uno ferito a morte.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and will put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shall groan, with the groanings of a deadly wounded man before him.

25 Fortificherò le braccia del re di Babilonia, mentre le braccia del faraone cadranno. Si saprà che io sono il Signore, quando porrò la mia spada nella mano del re di Babilonia ed egli la stenderà sulla terra d'Egitto.

Yea I will make strong the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I place my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, that he may stretch it out over the land of Egypt.

26 Disperderò gli Egiziani fra le genti e li disperderò in altre regioni: si saprà che io sono il Signore».

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
