< Luka 23 >
1 Umilundo wihi ukimika, ukamutwale uYesu pantongeela ang'wa Pilato.
AND the whole multitude of them rising up, led him to Pilate,
2 Ikandya kumuumbilya inkani, akazelunga, kumuhangile umuntu yu ukumunkonga ihi itu, wenda agilya iantu aleke kupumya impia kung'wa kaisari, hangi wenda hinga kina nuanso Kristo, Mtemi.
and began to accuse him, saying, We have found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar; pretending that he himself is the King Messiah.
3 Pilato akamkolya, akahunga, Uewe wintemi Wayahudi? uYesu akasusha akalunga, ingi wewe ukulanga iti.
Then Pilate interrogated him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said to him, Thou sayest so.
4 Upilato akamuila ukuhani numukulu a mitunda, shakuona igazo nila muntu uyu.
Then said Pilate unto the chief priests and the multitudes, I find nothing culpable in this man.
5 Ingi nianso ikalunga, wenda asongeela iantu, wenda amanyisa kuuyahundi ihi, kandilya kugalilaya ni tungili ukoti hapa.
But they were urgent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching through all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.
6 Upilato nai wija, akakaelya kina Umuntu uyu ang'wa waku Galilaya.
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean?
7 Naiwalinga kina aukoli mutemi wang, wa Herode, akamutwala kung'wa Herode, imatungo nanso nung'wenso aukoli kuyerusalemu imahiko nanso.
And when he knew that he came out of Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was himself at Jerusalem in those days.
8 Uherode naiwamuona Yesu, akalowa, kunsoko autakile kumuona siku idu. Aiwija ulukumo lakwe, akalowa aone ata ikuilwa ling'wi nilikitung'wa nung'wenso.
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was vastly delighted: for he had been long desirous to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some miracle wrought by him.
9 Uherode akamukolya uYesu nkani yidu, Uyesu singa akasusha kintu kihi.
And he put a variety of questions to him; but he made him no reply.
10 Iakuhani niakulu palung'wi niandiki akimika kuautaki ukazimusemela.
And the chief priests and the scribes stood up vehemently accusing him.
11 Uherode palung'wi nia hami akwe, ikmutukila nukumumda, nukumutagala inguo ninza uYesu sunga ikamususha kung'wa Pilato.
Then Herod with his guards treated him with contempt, and in derision clothed him in a splendid robe, and sent him back to Pilate.
12 Herode nu Pilato ikatula ikihumbashuya kandilya uluhiku lulo, [ntongeela apa ng'wanso aialemanilye].
And Pilate and Herod the same day became friends together: for they had previously been at enmity with each other.
13 Upilato akaitanga iakuhani niakulu nilongeeli niamilundo na antu.
Then Pilate, convoking the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Akaaila mandetela umuntu uyu, anga muntu nuiatongeela awa niyituma imabi, hangi gozi namukolekelya pa ntongeela anyu, singa naona igazo ku muntu uyu ku nkani yihi inazamenda musemela nuinso.
said unto them, Ye have brought this man to me, as one who perverteth the people: and lo! on examining him before you, I have found nothing culpable in this man, respecting the charges ye bring against him:
15 Kutile, ang'wi Herode, kunsoko wamususha kitaitu, inangi kutile kintu kihi nikibi naiwitumile nakihumile kutule apegwe ulamulwa wa nsha.
nor Herod neither: for I referred you to him; and, lo, nothing is done to this man, as if he deserved death.
16 Kululo kumupa ulamulwa nukumutunguila.
I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
17 Itungili, Upilato ukumulekela mutungwa ung'wi kua yahudi matungo na mahiku aulumbiili.
(Now he held it necessary to release one to them at the feast.)
18 Ingi ihi akazogolya palung'wi, akazelunga,''Muheje uyu, hangi kuluguilye ubaraba.''
Then the whole multitude set up a cry, saying, Away with this fellow, and release unto us Barabbas!
19 Ubaraba ai muntu nauikilwe kukitungo kunsoko au sambo mukisali palung'wi nuubulagi.
(who for a certain sedition raised in the city, and for murder, had been cast into prison.)
20 Upilato akaila hangi, ndalwe kumuleka uYesu.
Again therefore Pilate called out to them, desirous to see Jesus at liberty.
21 Kululo nianso akakulya iyogo agigwe agigwe.
But they clamoured the more, saying, Crucify, crucify him.
22 Akaakolya katatu, akaila umuntu uyu witumile mabiki? Naulya igazo nilihumile kumutwala muulamutwa wa nshaakwe, kululo ingankondye kupumya uulamulwa kumulekela.
Then the third time he said to them, What evil hath this man done? I have found nothing deserving death in him: I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
23 Akitwita kua ngulu, akalowa agig'wa, induli yao ikampembeselya upilato.
But they were instant with the most clamorous vociferations, soliciting that he might be crucified. And their clamours, and those of the chief priests, bore him down.
24 Upilato akaaila mitumi anganimuonee.
Then Pilate decreed that their petition should be granted.
25 Akamutunguila uyu nautungilwe kukitingo kunsoko akusingizeeligwa kituma ubi nu kubalaga. Uyu naumuloilwe, akamupunya uYesu amitumile nialoilwe.
Then released he to them him who for sedition and murder had been cast into prison; but he gave up Jesus to their will.
26 Naiakumuheja ikamuamba muntu ung'wi, Simoni Mkirene, naupimie kumugunda, ikamutika ikota la mpanga amutyale uYesu.
And as they led him out, laying hold on one Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, they laid on him the cross, to carry after Jesus.
27 Milundo mkulu nuantu, niasungu idu naiahumilwe ikinya uwayi nukuhongeelya kunsoko akwe, ai amutyatile.
And a great multitude of the people and of women followed him, who also beat their breasts and lamented him bitterly.
28 Akaa pilukila akaaila, Ananso niamu Yerusalemu, leki kundiili unene, iliili unyenye niana anyu.
But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but for yourselves, and for your children.
29 Goza imahiku apembilye,''niazelunga, akembetwa iagumba ni nda nishayiluga nimaele aya nisinga aiankilye.
For, behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs which have not borne, and the breasts which never suckled.
30 Pang'wanso azetula maila imalugulu, kugwili, ana malugulu kukunikili.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover us!
31 Ang'wi akituma nkanizizi mu mti nutotu ukatula uli mu mti nuwumo?
For if they do all these things with the green wood, what will be done with the dry?
32 Intunja abiili hangi niansambo aiatwawe palung'wi nung'wenso ende abulagwe.
Now there were two other persons, malefactors, led out with him to be executed.
33 Naipaka apo niitangwa ing'ang'a Iitwe, ikatula maja palung'wi niasambo, ung'wi mukono nuakigiha numuya mukono nua kikima.
And when they came to a place called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, the one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Uyesu akahinga, Tata alekole kunsoko shangaalikile niakituma. Nienso ikaku ialo ahume kugalana imyenda akwe.
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Then dividing his garments, they cast the lot.
35 Iantu ainukile akazeagozeeye kunu iatemi akazemumela, akazelunga, aiwiaguna niangizeo, itungili nigune nung'wenso, ang'wi nuanso Kristo wang'wi, Itunda, naushaguwe.
And the people stood looking on. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this fellow is the Messiah, the elect of God.
36 Iahomi neonso ikamudalaha, Ikamuhugeela ikamupa inkungu.
And the soldiers also insulted him, coming and offering him vinegar,
37 Ikalunga, ang'wi uewe wimu temi wayahudi igune uewe.
and saying, if thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.
38 Aikikoli hangi kilingasiilyo migulya akwe naikiandikilwe, ''UYU NGWENSO MUTEMI WAYAHUDI”.
And there was an inscription written over him in Greek, Roman, and Hebrew characters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Ung'wi wa Sambo naukagigwa akamutuhila akalunga, uewe wi Kristo? Iguno uewe nu sese.
Then one of the suspended malefactors blasphemed him, saying, If thou art the Messiah, save thyself and us.
40 Ingi gwa umuya akasusha, akamukenela akalunga, uewe shumogopile ne Itunda? nuewe ukoli mulamulwa wuwo wuwo?
But the other addressing him, rebuked him, saying, Hast thou no fear of God, when thou art under the same condemnation?
41 Use kukoli kutai, Kunsoko usese kusingiilya iko nikimpyani ni ntendo yitie ingi umuntie uyu shawitumile anga kintu kihi nikibi.
And we indeed justly, for we receive deserved punishment for the crimes we have committed: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 Hangi akongeelya, Yesu unkimbuke nukingila mutemi wako.
And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom.
43 Uyesu akamuila, huila kuila ilelo iyi ukutula palung'wi nunene kuparadiso.
And Jesus said to him. Verily I say unto thee, To-day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
44 Ainugee kutula matungo mutandatu, ihe ihi ikakunikilwa ni kiti sunga imatungo kenda ikapika.
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
45 Uwelu wa lyoa ukalima, sunga ung'wenda nuitekeelo ukatamuka pakati kandiilya migulya.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 Akalila kua luli lukulu, Uyesu akalunga, Tata mumikono nako, namiika inkolo ane, naiwaligitya aya akasha.
And Jesus crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit: and having said this, he expired.
47 Matungo uakida naiwaona ayo naitumilwe akamukolya Itunda akalunga, itai uyu ai muntu wa tai.
And the centurion observing what had come to pass, glorified God, saying, Verily this man was a righteous person.
48 Matungo umilundo wa antu naiazile palung'wi kihenga naiaona ayo naitumilwe, ikasuka akaze kuaga ikue yao.
And all the multitudes who had come together for this spectacle, when they saw the things which were done, beating their breasts, returned.
49 Ingi gwa iahumba uya akwe, niasunga ikamutatya kupuma kugalilaya, akimika kuli akazegoza ayo naitumilwe.
And all his acquaintance stood afar off, and the women which followed him from Galilee, beholding these things.
50 Goza aukoli muntu nai witangwa Yusufu nai muntu wianza, Muntu muza nuatai.
And lo! a man named Joseph, being a member of the council, a good man, and a just;
51 [Akili kigombya ni ntendo yao, ] kupuma Armathaya kisali ka kiyahudi uo naizaulindie utemi wang'wi Tunda.
(who had not given his assent to their determination and deed; ) being of Arimathea, a city of the Jews: who himself also expected the coming of the kingdom of God.
52 Umuntu uyu, akamuhugeela upilato, akalompa apeng'we umuili wang'wa Yesu.
He went in to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 Akausimya hangi akaukumba isanda akauka mukibiila naikimbihiimbilwe mungwe, omo naizakili muntu wihi kuikwa.
And taking it down from the cross, he wrapped it in linen cloth, and laid it in a sepulchre hewn out of a rock, where none had ever yet lain.
54 luhiku la kunonelya ni Sabato ahugeela.
And that was the preparation-day, and the sabbath’s twilight was approaching.
55 Iasungu, naiazile kupuma Kugalilaya, aiamulyatile ikibiila nu muili wakwe naiulalikigwe.
Then the women also, his attendants, who had followed him out of Galilee, observed the sepulchre, and how his corpse was laid out.
56 Akasuka ikatula nonelya imakuta nakunyunkilya. Sunga luhiku la sabato akasupya anga naiza malagiilyo ao.
And returning, they made preparation of aromatics and unguents; and they rested the sabbath-day, according to the commandment.
