< 1 Petelo 3 >
1 Kumila iyi, unye nimiasungu, inonee kipumya kuagoha anyu unyenye, ataeza niang'wi shaaugombile ulukani, kukiila ntendo ya sungu ao ahumile kulutwa ata ize kutili ulukani.
Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the deportment of the wives;
2 Kunsoko nianso azezeaiona intendo yanyu ninza palung'wi nikulyo.
While they behold your chaste manner of life [coupled] with fear.
3 Iyi itung'wi singa kinonelya kua kunzi kusogota masingi, maintu nimaza ang'wi nguo nia mampilu.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on apparel;
4 Kululo ntongeela akuwe itume kua uza nua munkolo, nukukilinkila ikulyo nuupolo wa munkolo, uwu nuuza paulongeela ang'wi Tunda.
But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 ia sungu niaza ainoneeye ienso kunzila iye. Aiatite uhuili kung'wi Tunda hangi aiapee ikulyo iakoha ao.
For after this manner in former times the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
6 Kuanzila iyi u Sara autite ukulyo kung'wa Ibrahimu, nukumitanga ng'wenso. Mukulu wakwe. Ni tungili unyenye miana akuwe, ang'wi mukituma ayo nimaza, hangi shamogopile nimabi.
Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Kunzila yiyoyiyo unye itunja inonee kikie niasungu anyu kunu muze mulingile kina iasungu anyu agila anga ngulu, iga mualinge kina nianso anga asingilya eitu niamasongeelyo au panga. Itumi uu imatompi anyu aleke kugieligwa.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Sunga unye mutule nimasigo apalung'wi, nialite ikinya uwai, ulowa anga muluna, niakite ikulyo, nawa niapolo.
Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another; love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
9 Leki kulipi ubi kua ubi, kituki kwa kituki, ingi gwa mulongoleke kukembeta, kunsoko iyi amitangilwe uuhuma kusala ukombetwa.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but on the contrary, blessing; knowing that ye are called to this, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 Uyu nukuulowa umahiku ihi, nukuona luhiku luza. Ikutula iza aluailye ululimi lakwe kumabi ni milomo akuwe kuligitya uukinyili.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Hangi apiluke nukuleka nimabi, nukituma aya nimaza. Adume upolo nukutatya.
Let him shun evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it.
12 Imiho ang'wa Tata imuona umunyatai, niakutui akwe ijaa imalompi akwe, ingi gwa usu wang'wa Tata singa wiagoza ao niituma uubi.
For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] to their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
13 Nyenyu nukumualya anga mulule mukituma nimaza?
And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye are followers of that which is good?
14 Anga mutule mukaga kunsoko atai. Makembetwa. Leki kogopi kuayo nianso niza amogapile leki kutula nu woa.
But if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 Ntongeela akwe, mnuueke Kilisto munkolo yanyu anga muntu numuza. Mahiku ihi muzamihambile kumusukiilya umuntu nukumukolya unyenye kuniki muhuie kung'wi Tunda. Itumi uu kuupolo ni kulyo.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
16 Mutule nuhuili nuuza, sunga iantu awa niutukila upanga wanyu kung'wa Kilisto ahume kuhung'waiminyala kunsoko akuligitya uteele kina aimituma mabi.
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evil-doers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good deportment in Christ.
17 Iziza nangulu, ang'wiTunda uloilwe, kina mikenda ga kunsoko akituma nimaza kukila kituma nimabi
For [it is] better, if the will of God is so, that ye suffer for well-doing, than for evil-doing.
18 Ukilisto aiwagile kang'wi kunsoko amilandu. Nuanso aimunya tai, aiwagigwe kunsoko itu, naikiagila itai, kina akulete kung'wi Tunda. Aukupe kimuili. Kululo aiwitumile upanga munkolo.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:
19 Ku kiila ng'waungwelu, akalongola kuitanantilya inkolo izo nikoli kukitungo.
By which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison;
20 Aiagila ukilyoimahungo na ng'wandyo ugimya wang'wi Tunda nau ualindie imatungo ang'wa Nuhu, mahiku nauzengi wa safina, ni Tunda augunile antu akehu-nkolo munane kupuma mumazi.
Who formerly were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was preparing, in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved by water.
21 Iki kilinga siilyo nikikumuguna unyenye utungile, singa anga kaja ubi kupuma mumuili, kululo anga ilombi la kituma uza kung'wi Tunda kukiila uuki wang'wa Yesu Kilisto.
The like figure to which, [even] baptism, doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience towards God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Nuanso ukoli mukono wa kigoha nua ng'wi Tunda. Aulongoe kilunde iamalaika, nuhumi ni nguluimukulye ng'wenso.
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels, and authorities, and powers being made subject to him.
