1 Korintho 8
1 Itungo ile kukiila ndya nupumigwe isongeelyo kuadudu: kulengile kina “use kehi kukete usigi. Usegi weleta ntogo, inge ulowe wezenga.
Now, concerning the idol-sacrifices, we are aware—because we, all, have knowledge, —knowledge, puffeth up, but, love, buildeth up;
2 Angeze muntu wehi usigile kina ulengile ikani fulani, umuntu uyu wakile kulenga anga neyemununee walenge.
If anyone thinketh that he knoweth anything, not yet knoweth he, as he must needs come to know,
3 Kuite angeze ung'wiwao anga wamulowe Itunda, umuntu uyu wigeelekile kung'waakwe.
But, if anyone loveth God, the same, is known of him—
4 Inge kuhusu nukulya indya nupumigwe isongeelyo kuadudu kulengile kina “ududu singa kintu munu mihe eye.”
Concerning, then, the eating of idol-sacrifices, we are aware—that an idol is, nothing, in the world, and that, none, is God save one.
5 Kundogoilyo akole edu neitangwa adudu angeze kilunde ang'wi mihe, anga uu neile “adudu niakulu edu.”
For, if indeed there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or upon earth, —as indeed there are gods many and lords many,
6 “Ateze kitaitu ukole Itunda ung'wi udu nung'wenso Tata, intu yehi ipumile kung'waakwe, nusese kikie kung'waakwe nu Mukulu ung'wi Yesu Kilisto, nuanso kitaitu maintu ehi akole, hange kung'wenso nusese kukole.”
[Yet], to us, there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and, we, for him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and, we, through him.
7 Ata uu, ulugu uyu weketile kukela muntu. Kuleka ite, neangiza aeipalung'wi nikulyo laadudu apo pakali, nitungo gaa akulyaindya zizi anga kentu kepumigwe isongeelyo kuadudu. Isigo nelao apeuwe kunsoko aunegetu.
Howbeit, not in all, is the knowledge; but, some, by their familiarity, until even now, with the idol, as an idol-sacrifice, eat it, and, their conscience, being, weak, is defiled.
8 Kuite indya shanga yukuigeelya usese kung'wi Tunda. Usese singa kiabi kukila anga kukite kulya, ang'wi ukukende kukila ang'wi kuulya.
Food, indeed, will not commend us unto God, —neither, if we eat not, do we lack, nor, if we eat, do we abound.
9 Kuite mutule nuahuguku kina uwidesi wanyu uleke kutula nsoko akumela uyu numunegetu muuhueli.
But be taking heed, lest, by any means, your right, itself, become, an occasion of stumbling, unto the weak;
10 Embu siga kina umuntu ukuine uewe nukete uukugu, ukulya indya mitekelelo laadudu. Isigo lakwe umuntu uyu shayukulengeka sunga ung'wenso nuyo kulya iintu niipumigwe isongeelyo kuadudu?
For, if anyone should see [thee] who hast knowledge, in an idol-temple, reclining, will not, his conscience, being, weak, be built up for the eating of the idol-sacrifices?
11 Kuite kunsoko aulengi nuako nuatai kuupuma nuadudu, ukaka ang'wi udada nuako numunegetu, nung'we gaa aushiwe nu Kilisto kunsoko akwe, ukulimeligwe.
In fact, he that is weak, is being destroyed, by thy knowledge—the brother for whose sake Christ died.
12 Uu, nukituma umulandu kung'wa kaka nukung'wa dada ako nukumalemaalya imasigo ao nimanegetu, mukituma mulandu kung'wa Kilisto.
But, in thus sinning against the brethren am wounding their conscience, seeing it is weak, against Christ, are ye sinning.
13 Kuite angeze indya yukusasha kumumelya ukaka ang'wi udada, shakulya inyama kwee, nsoko ndeke kumusasha ukaka ang'wi udada wane wagwe. (aiōn g165)
Therefore, if food is an occasion of stumbling unto my brother, in nowise will I eat flesh unto the age that abideth, —that, I may not occasion, my brother, to stumble. (aiōn g165)
