Yosua 11
1 Ketika Yabin, raja kota Hazor, mendengar tentang semua kemenangan bangsa Israel, dia memanggil raja-raja lain yaitu Raja Yobab dari kota Madon, raja kota Simron, raja kota Aksaf,
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard, that he sent unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph;
2 juga raja-raja di pegunungan sebelah utara, di lembah Yordan sebelah selatan danau Galilea, di daerah kaki pegunungan, dan di pesisir dekat kota Dor.
and unto the kings who were on the north in the hill country and in the waste plain south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, —and in the heights of Dor, on the west:
3 Yabin juga memanggil orang Kanaan di sebelah timur dan sebelah barat sungai Yordan, orang Amori, orang Het, orang Feris, orang Yebus di daerah pegunungan, dan orang Hewi di kaki gunung Hermon di daerah Mispa.
the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite and the Jebusite, in the hill country, —and the Hivite, under Hermon, in the land of Mizpah;
4 Raja-raja itu maju membawa pasukan mereka. Jumlah mereka sangat banyak, seperti pasir di tepi pantai. Kuda dan kereta perang mereka juga sangat banyak.
and they came out—they, and all their hosts with them, much people, like the sand that is upon the seashore for multitude, —with horses and chariots very many.
5 Semua raja itu menggabungkan pasukan. Mereka berkemah di sungai Merom untuk menyerang Israel.
And, when all these kings were gathered together, they came in, and encamped as one man, at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Berkatalah TUHAN kepada Yosua, “Jangan takut terhadap mereka. Karena besok, pada waktu yang sama seperti sekarang, Aku akan menyerahkan mereka semua mati terbunuh di tangan kalian. Lumpuhkan kuda-kuda mereka dan bakarlah kereta-kereta perang mereka.”
Then said Yahweh unto Joshua—Do not fear because of them, for, to-morrow, about this time, am I going to deliver up all of them, slain, before Israel, —their horses, shalt thou ham-string, and, their chariots, shalt thou burn up with fire.
7 Maka Yosua dan seluruh pasukannya menyerang pasukan musuh itu dengan tiba-tiba di dekat sungai Merom.
So Joshua, and all the army with him, came in upon them, by the waters of Merom, suddenly, and fell upon them.
8 TUHAN menyerahkan mereka semua kepada orang Israel. Pasukan Israel mengalahkan musuh dan memburu mereka sampai ke kota besar Sidon, kota Misrefot Maim di sebelah barat laut, dan sampai ke lembah Mispa di sebelah timur laut. Tidak ada seorang pun yang selamat.
And Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them as far as great Zidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpeh, eastward, —yea they smote them until they left them not a survivor.
9 Yosua dan pasukan Israel melumpuhkan semua kuda musuh dan membakar semua kereta perang mereka, sesuai dengan perintah TUHAN kepadanya.
And Joshua did unto them, as Yahweh had said unto him, —their horses, he ham-strung, and, their chariots, burned he up with fire.
10 Kemudian Yosua dan pasukannya berbalik lalu pergi merebut kota Hazor dan membunuh rajanya. Dahulu, kota Hazor adalah pusat kerajaan-kerajaan yang melawan Israel itu.
Then Joshua turned back, at that time, and captured Hazor, and, the king thereof, smote he with the sword, —for, Hazor, aforetime, was the head of all these kingdoms.
11 Pasukan Yosua membunuh semua orang di kota Hazor, lalu membakar kota itu. Tidak ada satu pun yang selamat.
And they smote all the souls that were therein, with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, there was left no breathing thing, —and, Hazor, burned he up with fire.
12 Yosua merebut semua kota lainnya dan membunuh raja-raja mereka, seperti yang diperintahkan Musa, hamba TUHAN itu.
And, all the cities of these kings, and all the kings thereof, did Joshua capture, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, —as Moses, the servant of Yahweh, commanded.
13 Akan tetapi, orang Israel tidak membakar kota-kota yang di atas bukit, kecuali Hazor yang dibakar oleh Yosua dan pasukannya.
Yet, none of the cities that were still standing upon their mound, did Israel burn, none but Hazor alone, did Joshua burn.
14 Orang Israel mengambil semua barang berharga dan ternak-ternak dari kota-kota itu. Tetapi seluruh penduduknya mereka habisi. Tidak ada seorang pun yang dibiarkan hidup.
But, all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, did the sons of Israel take as their prey, —nevertheless, all the human beings, smote they with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, they left remaining no breathing thing.
15 Demikianlah Yosua menjalankan segala perintah TUHAN yang disampaikan-Nya melalui Musa. Tak ada satu pun yang tidak terlaksana.
As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so, Moses commanded Joshua, and, so, Joshua, did, he set aside nothing of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
16 Jadi, Yosua berhasil merebut seluruh negeri itu bagi Israel, mulai dari daerah pegunungan, seluruh padang belantara Negeb, seluruh daerah di sekitar kota Gosyen, dan lembah Yordan. Yosua sudah menguasai seluruh daerah pegunungan Israel dan dataran rendahnya,
So Joshua took all this land—the hill country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the waste plain, —and the hill country of Israel, and the lowland thereof:
17 dari gunung Halak di selatan, naik sampai ke gunung Seir, sampai kota Baal Gad di Lembah Libanon di utara, di bawah gunung Hermon. Yosua berperang melawan raja-raja itu selama bertahun-tahun sampai dia berhasil menangkap dan membunuh mereka semua.
from Mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even as far as Baal-gad, in the valley of the Lebanon, under Mount Hermon, —and, all their kings, he captured, and smote them, and put them to death.
Many days, did Joshua, with all these kings, make war.
19 Tidak ada kota yang membuat perjanjian damai dengan Israel kecuali orang Hewi di kota Gibeon. Semua kota lainnya sudah dikalahkan,
There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel, save the Hivites dwelling in Gibeon, —the whole, took they in battle.
20 karena TUHAN sengaja membuat musuh-musuh Israel keras kepala dan berani melawan Israel. Tujuannya supaya mereka dimusnahkan tanpa belas kasihan, seperti yang sudah diperintahkan-Nya kepada Musa.
For, from Yahweh, came it to pass, that their heart was emboldened to come out to war with Israel, that he might devote them to destruction, that they might find no favour, —but that he might destroy them, —as Yahweh commanded Moses.
21 Pada waktu itu, Yosua juga menyerang dan menghabisi orang raksasa Anakim dari Hebron, Debir, Anab, dan seluruh daerah pegunungan Yehuda dan Israel. Yosua memusnahkan mereka seluruhnya dan menghancurkan kota-kota mereka.
And Joshua came in, at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country—from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel, —with their cities, did Joshua devote them to destruction.
22 Karena itu, tidak ada lagi keturunan raksasa Anakim di wilayah Israel. Mereka hanya tersisa di kota Gaza, Gat, dan Asdod.
There was left remaining none of the Anakim, in the land of the sons of Israel, —save only, in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
23 Demikianlah Yosua menguasai seluruh negeri itu, seperti yang TUHAN sudah janjikan kepada Musa. Yosua membagikan negeri itu kepada suku-suku Israel sebagai tanah warisan mereka, dan sesudah itu perang pun berhenti.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken unto Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel, according to their portions by their tribes, —and, the land, had rest from war.
