2 Samuel 22
1 Inilah lagu yang dinyanyikan Daud untuk memuji TUHAN sesudah dia diselamatkan dari tangan Saul dan musuh-musuhnya yang lain:
And Dauid spake the woordes of this song vnto the Lord, what time the Lord had deliuered him out of the handes of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.
2 Bagaikan benteng yang kokoh, Engkau, ya TUHAN, melindungi aku dari musuh-musuhku!
And he sayd, The Lord is my rocke and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth mee.
3 Ya Allahku, Engkau seperti gunung batu di mana aku dapat berlindung. Lebih baik daripada perisai dalam pertempuran, Engkau melindungi dan menyelamatkan aku. Ketika musuh-musuhku mengancam aku dengan segala tindakan kejam, Engkau, ya Penyelamatku, bagaikan tempat persembunyian di padang belantara ke mana aku dapat melarikan diri dan berlindung.
God is my strength, in him will I trust: my shielde, and the horne of my saluation, my hie tower and my refuge: my Sauiour, thou hast saued me from violence.
4 Oh TUHAN, Engkau layak menerima pujian! Ketika aku berseru kepada-Mu, Engkau menyelamatkanku dari musuh-musuhku.
I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praysed: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.
5 Ketika aku merasa seperti akan tenggelam dalam ombak-ombak laut,
For the pangs of death haue compassed me: the floods of vngodlinesse haue made mee afrayd.
The sorowes of the graue compassed mee about: the snares of death ouertooke mee. (Sheol h7585)
7 aku berseru kepada-Mu, ya TUHAN! Ya, dalam kesesakan hebat, ketika aku berseru kepada-Mu, ya Allahku, dari rumah-Mu Engkau mendengarkan aku. Doaku masih Engkau dengar.
But in my tribulation did I call vpon the Lord, and crie to my God, and he did heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crie did enter into his eares.
8 Maka bangkitlah murka-Mu, sehingga bumi bergoncang dan tiang-tiang penopang langit pun gemetar.
Then the earth trembled and quaked: the foundations of the heauens mooued and shooke, because he was angrie.
9 Hembusan asap keluar dari hidung-Mu dan semburan bara api dari mulut-Mu.
Smoke went out at his nostrels, and consuming fire out of his mouth: coles were kindled thereat.
10 Engkau membuka langit dan melangkah turun untuk menyelamatkanku. Engkau berpijak di atas awan gelap.
He bowed the heauens also, and came downe, and darkenes was vnder his feete.
11 Begitu cepatnya Engkau datang, seolah dibawa terbang di atas sayap malaikat penjaga, lebih cepat daripada burung.
And he rode vpon Cherub and did flie, and hee was seene vpon the winges of the winde.
12 Engkau menyelubungi diri-Mu dengan kegelapan dan tak terlihat saat datang karena dikelilingi awan tebal.
And hee made darkenesse a Tabernacle round about him, euen the gatherings of waters, and the cloudes of the ayre.
13 Lalu dari sekeliling-Mu terpancar kilat dan api.
At the brightnesse of his presence the coles of fire were kindled.
14 Suara-Mu, ya TUHAN yang Mahatinggi, bergemuruh seperti guntur dari langit.
The Lord thundred from heauen, and the most hie gaue his voyce.
15 Saat Engkau menyerukan teriakan perang, hembusan nafas-Mu menjadi angin kencang yang menyingkapkan air laut sampai dasarnya dan fondasi bumi pun terlihat. Bagaikan pemanah, Engkau menghujani musuh-musuhku dengan tembakan kilat hingga mereka lari berhamburan.
He shot arrowes also, and scattered them: to wit, lightning, and destroyed them.
The chanels also of the sea appeared, euen the foundations of the worlde were discouered by the rebuking of the Lord, and at the blast of the breath of his nostrels.
17 Dari atas, Engkau mengulurkan tangan-Mu dan mengangkat aku keluar dari lautan bahaya.
He sent from aboue, and tooke me: hee drewe me out of many waters.
18 Terima kasih, ya TUHAN, karena Engkau melihat musuh-musuhku terlalu kuat bagiku, maka Engkau menyelamatkan aku dari semua orang yang membenciku.
He deliuered me from my strong enemie, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
19 Mereka menyerangku pada saat aku lemah dan susah, tetapi Engkaulah yang menopang aku.
They preuented me in the day of my calamitie, but the Lord was my stay,
20 Engkau membawa aku keluar ke tempat yang aman karena aku berkenan di mata-Mu.
And brought me foorth into a large place: he deliuered me, because he fauoured me.
21 Ya, TUHAN, Engkau sudah menyelamatkanku sebab aku hidup benar di hadapan-Mu. Aku diberkati karena tidak bersalah
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: according to the purenesse of mine handes he recompensed me.
22 dan aku menaati perintah-perintah-Mu. Aku tidak meninggalkan-Mu untuk melakukan kejahatan.
For I kept the wayes of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God.
23 Aku senantiasa memperhatikan semua peraturan-Mu dan tidak melanggar ketetapan-ketetapan-Mu.
For all his lawes were before me, and his statutes: I did not depart therefrom.
24 Engkau tahu bahwa aku benar-benar menjaga diriku agar tidak bercela karena dosa.
I was vpright also towarde him, and haue kept me from my wickednesse.
25 Itu sebabnya Engkau, ya TUHAN, memberkatiku, karena Engkau melihat aku hidup dengan tulus hati di hadapan-Mu.
Therefore the Lord did reward me according to my righteousnesse, according to my purenesse before his eyes.
26 Engkau setia kepada orang yang setia kepada-Mu. Engkau baik kepada orang yang baik.
With the godly thou wilt shewe thy selfe godly: with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
27 Engkau menunjukkan ketulusan hati-Mu kepada orang yang tulus hati. Tetapi Engkau membalas orang yang menipu sesuai perbuatan mereka!
With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the frowarde thou wilt shew thy selfe frowarde.
28 Engkau menyelamatkan orang yang rendah hati. Tetapi orang yang sombong akan Engkau rendahkan pada waktu yang tepat.
Thus thou wilt saue the poore people: but thine eyes are vpon the hautie to humble them.
29 Ya TUHAN, Engkau bagaikan cahaya yang menerangi aku dalam kegelapan.
Surely thou art my light, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkenes.
30 Dengan pertolongan-Mu aku sanggup menghadapi gerombolan musuh. Ketika Engkau menguatkan aku, ya Allahku, aku bisa melompati benteng kota musuh-musuhku!
For by thee haue I broken through an hoste, and by my God haue I leaped ouer a wall.
31 Segala sesuatu yang Engkau lakukan itu sempurna dan setiap perkataan-Mu terbukti benar. Engkau seperti perisai bagi semua yang berlindung pada-Mu.
The way of God is vncorrupt: the word of the Lord is tryed in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
32 Sebab tidak ada dewa yang sebanding dengan Engkau, ya TUHAN. Hanya Engkau, ya Allah kami, yang bagaikan gunung batu bagi umat-Mu.
For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie, saue our God?
33 Ya, Engkau adalah Pelindung yang kuat bagiku. Engkau menjaga jalan hidupku selalu aman.
God is my strength in battel, and maketh my way vpright.
34 Dan kepadaku Engkau memberikan kemampuan seperti rusa supaya aku dapat berlari di gunung tanpa tersandung.
He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and hath set me vpon mine hie places.
35 Engkau yang melatih tubuhku untuk bertempur hingga tanganku kuat membidikkan busur yang berat.
He teacheth mine handes to fight, so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes.
36 Aku dapat menang dalam pertempuran hanya karena Engkau melindungiku. Aku memperoleh kedudukan tinggi hanya karena Engkau membungkuk untuk mengangkatku.
Thou hast also giuen me the shield of thy saluation, and thy louing kindnesse hath caused me to increase.
37 Aku tidak tersandung jatuh karena Engkau melebarkan jalan bagiku.
Thou hast inlarged my steppes vnder me, and mine heeles haue not slid.
38 Aku sudah mengejar dan membantai semua musuhku. Aku tidak berhenti mengejar mereka sebelum semuanya dimusnahkan.
I haue pursued mine enemies and destroyed them, and haue not turned againe vntill I had consumed them.
39 Aku menghancurkan dan menghabisi mereka hingga tergeletak di kakiku dan tak bisa bangkit.
Yea, I haue consumed them and thrust them through, and they shall not arise, but shall fall vnder my feete.
40 Engkau sudah memperlengkapi aku dengan kekuatan untuk bertempur. Engkau membuat musuh-musuhku bertekuk lutut di kakiku.
For thou hast girded me with power to battell, and them that arose against me, hast thou subdued vnder me.
41 Engkaulah yang membuat mereka berbalik dan melarikan diri, agar aku dapat melenyapkan semua yang membenciku.
And thou hast giuen me the neckes of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
42 Mereka berteriak minta tolong kepada dewa-dewa, tetapi tidak ada yang menyelamatkan mereka. Bahkan mereka berseru kepada-Mu, ya TUHAN, tetapi Engkau tidak menjawab mereka.
They looked about, but there was none to saue them, euen vnto the Lord, but he answered them not.
43 Aku memukul mereka sampai hancur seperti debu tanah dan menginjak-injak mereka seperti lumpur di jalan.
Then did I beate them as small as the dust of the earth: I did treade them flat as the clay of the streete, and did spread them abroad.
44 Engkau sudah meluputkan aku dari perlawanan rakyatku sendiri dan mengangkat aku sebagai penguasa atas bangsa-bangsa. Orang-orang yang tidak aku kenal melayaniku.
Thou hast also deliuered me from the contentions of my people: thou hast preserued me to be the head ouer nations: the people which I knewe not, doe serue me.
45 Baru saja mereka mendengar tentang kuasaku, mereka langsung bersujud dan tunduk kepadaku.
Strangers shalbe in subiection to me: assoone as they heare, they shall obey me.
46 Dengan gemetar mereka keluar dari kota benteng mereka dan menyerahkan diri menjadi budak-budakku.
Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers.
47 Oh TUHAN, Engkau hidup! Terpujilah Engkau yang bagaikan gunung batu bagiku! Biarlah Engkau, ya Pelindung dan Penyelamatku, senantiasa ditinggikan.
Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength: and God, euen the force of my saluation be exalted.
48 Engkau selalu menyelamatkan aku dari musuh-musuhku dan membalas mereka yang hendak melakukan kejahatan dan kekerasan kepadaku. Engkau bahkan membuat bangsa-bangsa tunduk kepadaku.
It is God that giueth me power to reuenge me, and subdue the people vnder me,
And rescueth me from mine enemies: (thou also hast lift me vp from them that rose against me, thou hast deliuered me from the cruell man.
50 Maka di hadapan orang dari segala bangsa, aku akan bersyukur kepada-Mu, ya TUHAN! Aku akan senantiasa menyanyikan puji-pujian bagi-Mu!
Therefore I will praise thee, O Lord amog the nations, and will sing vnto thy Name)
51 Terima kasih, TUHAN, karena Engkau memberikan kemenangan besar kepada raja pilihan-Mu dan tetap menunjukkan kasih serta kesetiaan-Mu kepadaku dan keturunanku untuk selama-lamanya!
He is the tower of saluation for his King, and sheweth mercie to his anointed, euen to Dauid, and to his seede for euer.
