Mazmur 16
1 Miktam. Dari Daud. Jagalah aku, ya Allah, sebab pada-Mu aku berlindung.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 Aku berkata kepada TUHAN: "Engkaulah Tuhanku, tidak ada yang baik bagiku selain Engkau!"
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 Orang-orang kudus yang ada di tanah ini, merekalah orang mulia yang selalu menjadi kesukaanku.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Bertambah besar kesedihan orang-orang yang mengikuti allah lain; aku tidak akan ikut mempersembahkan korban curahan mereka yang dari darah, juga tidak akan menyebut-nyebut nama mereka di bibirku.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Ya TUHAN, Engkaulah bagian warisanku dan pialaku, Engkau sendirilah yang meneguhkan bagian yang diundikan kepadaku.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Tali pengukur jatuh bagiku di tempat-tempat yang permai; ya, milik pusakaku menyenangkan hatiku.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Aku memuji TUHAN, yang telah memberi nasihat kepadaku, ya, pada waktu malam hati nuraniku mengajari aku.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 Aku senantiasa memandang kepada TUHAN; karena Ia berdiri di sebelah kananku, aku tidak goyah.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 Sebab itu hatiku bersukacita dan jiwaku bersorak-sorak, bahkan tubuhku akan diam dengan tenteram;
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 sebab Engkau tidak menyerahkan aku ke dunia orang mati, dan tidak membiarkan Orang Kudus-Mu melihat kebinasaan. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Engkau memberitahukan kepadaku jalan kehidupan; di hadapan-Mu ada sukacita berlimpah-limpah, di tangan kanan-Mu ada nikmat senantiasa.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
