Mazmur 129

1 Nyanyian ziarah. Mereka telah cukup menyesakkan aku sejak masa mudaku--biarlah Israel berkata demikian--

Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel [God prevails] now say,

2 mereka telah cukup menyesakkan aku sejak masa mudaku, tetapi mereka tidak dapat mengalahkan aku.

3 Di atas punggungku pembajak membajak, membuat panjang alur bajak mereka.

The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.

4 TUHAN itu adil, Ia memotong tali-tali orang fasik.

Adonai is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.

5 Semua orang yang membenci Sion akan mendapat malu dan akan mundur.

Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking].

6 Mereka seperti rumput di atas sotoh, yang menjadi layu, sebelum dicabut,

Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up;

7 yang tidak digenggam tangan penyabit, atau dirangkum orang yang mengikat berkas,

with which the reaper does not fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.

8 sehingga orang-orang yang lewat tidak berkata: "Berkat TUHAN atas kamu! Kami memberkati kamu dalam nama TUHAN!"

Neither do those who go by say, “The blessing of Adonai be on you. We bless you in Adonai’s name.”
