Mazmur 107
1 Bersyukurlah kepada TUHAN, sebab Ia baik! Bahwasanya untuk selama-lamanya kasih setia-Nya.
Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy is with every generation.
2 Biarlah itu dikatakan orang-orang yang ditebus TUHAN, yang ditebus-Nya dari kuasa yang menyesakkan,
Let those who have been redeemed by the Lord say so: those whom he redeemed from the hand of the enemy and gathered from the regions,
3 yang dikumpulkan-Nya dari negeri-negeri, dari timur dan dari barat, dari utara dan dari selatan.
from the rising of the sun and its setting, from the north and from the sea.
4 Ada orang-orang yang mengembara di padang belantara, jalan ke kota tempat kediaman orang tidak mereka temukan;
They wandered into solitude in a waterless place. They did not find the way of the city to be their dwelling place.
5 mereka lapar dan haus, jiwa mereka lemah lesu di dalam diri mereka.
They were hungry, and they were thirsty. Their soul fainted within them.
6 Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dilepaskan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka.
And they cried out to the Lord in tribulation, and he rescued them in their necessity.
7 Dibawa-Nya mereka menempuh jalan yang lurus, sehingga sampai ke kota tempat kediaman orang.
And he led them in the right way, so that they might go forth to a city of habitation.
8 Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men.
9 sebab dipuaskan-Nya jiwa yang dahaga, dan jiwa yang lapar dikenyangkan-Nya dengan kebaikan.
For he has satisfied the empty soul, and he has satisfied the hungry soul with good things:
10 Ada orang-orang yang duduk di dalam gelap dan kelam, terkurung dalam sengsara dan besi.
those sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death, shackled by extreme poverty and by iron.
11 Karena mereka memberontak terhadap perintah-perintah Allah, dan menista nasihat Yang Mahatinggi,
For they exasperated the eloquence of God, and they irritated the deliberation of the Most High.
12 maka ditundukkan-Nya hati mereka ke dalam kesusahan, mereka tergelincir, dan tidak ada yang menolong.
And their heart was brought low with hardships. They were weakened, and there was no one to help them.
13 Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nyalah mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he freed them from their distress.
14 dibawa-Nya mereka keluar dari dalam gelap dan kelam, dan diputuskan-Nya belenggu-belenggu mereka.
And he led them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and he broke apart their chains.
15 Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men.
16 sebab dipecahkan-Nya pintu-pintu tembaga, dan dihancurkan-Nya palang-palang pintu besi.
For he has crushed the gates of brass and broken the iron bars.
17 Ada orang-orang menjadi sakit oleh sebab kelakuan mereka yang berdosa, dan disiksa oleh sebab kesalahan-kesalahan mereka;
He has taken them up, from the way of their iniquity. For they were brought low, because of their injustices.
18 mereka muak terhadap segala makanan dan mereka sudah sampai pada pintu gerbang maut.
Their soul abhorred all food, and they drew near even to the gates of death.
19 Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he delivered them in their necessity.
20 disampaikan-Nya firman-Nya dan disembuhkan-Nya mereka, diluputkan-Nya mereka dari liang kubur.
He sent his word, and he healed them, and he rescued them from their utter destruction.
21 Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men.
22 Biarlah mereka mempersembahkan korban syukur, dan menceritakan pekerjaan-pekerjaan-Nya dengan sorak-sorai!
And let them offer sacrifice with the sacrifice of praise, and let them announce his works in exultation.
23 Ada orang-orang yang mengarungi laut dengan kapal-kapal, yang melakukan perdagangan di lautan luas;
Those who descend to the sea in ships, making their livelihood in the great waters:
24 mereka melihat pekerjaan-pekerjaan TUHAN, dan perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib di tempat yang dalam.
these have seen the works of the Lord and his wonders in the deep.
25 Ia berfirman, maka dibangkitkan-Nya angin badai yang meninggikan gelombang-gelombangnya.
He spoke: and a windstorm stood up, and its waves were exalted.
26 Mereka naik sampai ke langit dan turun ke samudera raya, jiwa mereka hancur karena celaka;
They ascend even to the heavens, and they descend even to the abyss. Their soul will waste away in distress.
27 mereka pusing dan terhuyung-huyung seperti orang mabuk, dan kehilangan akal.
They were troubled, and they moved like a drunkard, and all their wisdom was consumed.
28 Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dikeluarkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he led them out of their distress.
29 dibuat-Nyalah badai itu diam, sehingga gelombang-gelombangnya tenang.
And he replaced the storm with a breeze, and its waves were stilled.
30 Mereka bersukacita, sebab semuanya reda, dan dituntun-Nya mereka ke pelabuhan kesukaan mereka.
And they were joyful that it was stilled, and he led them into the haven that they desired.
31 Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men.
32 Biarlah mereka meninggikan Dia dalam jemaat umat itu, dan memuji-muji Dia dalam majelis para tua-tua.
And let them exalt him in the Church of the people, and praise him in the chair of the elders.
33 Dibuat-Nya sungai-sungai menjadi padang gurun, dan pancaran-pancaran air menjadi tanah gersang,
He has placed rivers in the desert and sources of water in dry places,
34 tanah yang subur menjadi padang asin, oleh sebab kejahatan orang-orang yang diam di dalamnya.
a fruit-bearing land in the midst of brine, before the malice of those who dwell in it.
35 Dibuat-Nya padang gurun menjadi kolam air, dan tanah kering menjadi pancaran-pancaran air.
He has placed a desert in the midst of pools of waters, and a land without water in the midst of sources of water.
36 Ditempatkan-Nya di sana orang-orang lapar, dan mereka mendirikan kota tempat kediaman;
And he has gathered the hungry together there, and they constructed a city of habitation.
37 mereka menabur di ladang-ladang dan membuat kebun-kebun anggur, yang mengeluarkan buah-buahan sebagai hasil.
And they sowed fields and planted vineyards, and they produced the fruit of nativity.
38 Diberkati-Nya mereka sehingga mereka bertambah banyak dengan sangat, dan hewan-hewan mereka tidak dibuat-Nya berkurang.
And he blessed them, and they were multiplied exceedingly. And he did not diminish their beasts of burden.
39 Tetapi mereka menjadi berkurang dan membungkuk oleh sebab tekanan celaka dan duka.
And they became few, and they were afflicted by the tribulation of evils and of sorrow.
40 Ditumpahkan-Nya kehinaan ke atas orang-orang terkemuka, dan dibuat-Nya mereka mengembara di padang tandus yang tiada jalan;
Contempt was poured over their leaders, and he caused them to wander in an impassable place, and not on the way.
41 tetapi orang miskin dibentengi-Nya terhadap penindasan, dan dibuat-Nya kaum-kaum mereka seperti kawanan domba banyaknya.
And he helped the poor out of destitution, and he stationed families like sheep.
42 Orang-orang benar melihatnya, lalu bersukacita, tetapi segala kecurangan tutup mulut.
The upright will see, and they will rejoice. And every iniquity will block its mouth.
43 Siapa yang mempunyai hikmat? Biarlah ia berpegang pada semuanya ini, dan memperhatikan segala kemurahan TUHAN.
Who is wise and will keep these things? And who will understand the mercies of the Lord?
