Ayub 40
1 Maka jawab TUHAN kepada Ayub:
Moreouer ye Lord spake vnto Iob, and said,
2 "Apakah si pengecam hendak berbantah dengan Yang Mahakuasa? Hendaklah yang mencela Allah menjawab!"
Is this to learne to striue with the Almightie? he that reprooueth God, let him answere to it.
3 Maka jawab Ayub kepada TUHAN:
Then Iob answered the Lord, saying,
4 "Sesungguhnya, aku ini terlalu hina; jawab apakah yang dapat kuberikan kepada-Mu? Mulutku kututup dengan tangan.
Beholde, I am vile: what shall I answere thee? I will lay mine hand vpon my mouth.
5 Satu kali aku berbicara, tetapi tidak akan kuulangi; bahkan dua kali, tetapi tidak akan kulanjutkan."
Once haue I spoken, but I will answere no more, yea twise, but I will proceede no further.
6 Maka dari dalam badai TUHAN menjawab Ayub:
Againe the Lord answered Iob out of the whirle winde, and said,
7 "Bersiaplah engkau sebagai laki-laki; Aku akan menanyai engkau, dan engkau memberitahu Aku.
Girde vp now thy loynes like a man: I will demaunde of thee, and declare thou vnto me.
8 Apakah engkau hendak meniadakan pengadilan-Ku, mempersalahkan Aku supaya engkau dapat membenarkan dirimu?
Wilt thou disanul my iudgement? or wilt thou condemne me, that thou mayst be iustified?
9 Apakah lenganmu seperti lengan Allah, dan dapatkah engkau mengguntur seperti Dia?
Or hast thou an arme like God? or doest thou thunder with a voyce like him?
10 Hiasilah dirimu dengan kemegahan dan keluhuran, kenakanlah keagungan dan semarak!
Decke thy selfe now with maiestie and excellencie, and aray thy selfe with beautie and glory.
11 Luapkanlah marahmu yang bergelora; amat-amatilah setiap orang yang congkak dan rendahkanlah dia!
Cast abroad the indignation of thy wrath, and beholde euery one that is proude, and abase him.
12 Amat-amatilah setiap orang yang congkak, tundukkanlah dia, dan hancurkanlah orang-orang fasik di tempatnya!
Looke on euery one that is arrogant, and bring him lowe: and destroy the wicked in their place.
13 Pendamlah mereka bersama-sama dalam debu, kurunglah mereka di tempat yang tersembunyi.
Hide them in the dust together, and binde their faces in a secret place.
14 Maka Akupun akan memuji engkau, karena tangan kananmu memberi engkau kemenangan."
Then will I confesse vnto thee also, that thy right hand can saue thee.
15 "Perhatikanlah kuda Nil, yang telah Kubuat seperti juga engkau. Ia makan rumput seperti lembu.
Behold now Behemoth (whom I made with thee) which eateth grasse as an oxe.
16 Perhatikanlah tenaga di pinggangnya, kekuatan pada urat-urat perutnya!
Behold now, his strength is in his loynes, and his force is in the nauil of his belly.
17 Ia meregangkan ekornya seperti pohon aras, otot-otot pahanya berjalin-jalinan.
When hee taketh pleasure, his taile is like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapt together.
18 Tulang-tulangnya seperti pembuluh tembaga, kerangkanya seperti batang besi.
His bones are like staues of brasse, and his small bones like staues of yron.
19 Dia yang pertama dibuat Allah, makhluk yang diberi-Nya bersenjatakan pedang;
He is the chiefe of the wayes of God: he that made him, will make his sworde to approch vnto him.
20 ya, bukit-bukit mengeluarkan hasil baginya, di mana binatang-binatang liar bermain-main.
Surely the mountaines bring him foorth grasse, where all the beastes of the fielde play.
21 Di bawah tumbuhan teratai ia menderum, tersembunyi dalam gelagah dan paya.
Lyeth hee vnder the trees in the couert of the reede and fennes?
22 Tumbuhan-tumbuhan teratai menaungi dia dengan bayang-bayangnya, pohon-pohon gandarusa mengelilinginya.
Can the trees couer him with their shadow? or can the willowes of the riuer compasse him about?
23 Sesungguhnya, biarpun sungai sangat kuat arusnya, ia tidak gentar; ia tetap tenang, biarpun sungai Yordan meluap melanda mulutnya.
Behold, he spoyleth the riuer, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw vp Iorden into his mouth.
24 Dapatkah orang menangkap dia dari muka, mencocok hidungnya dengan keluan?"
Hee taketh it with his eyes, and thrusteth his nose through whatsoeuer meeteth him.
