Yeremia 41
1 Dalam bulan yang ketujuh datanglah Ismael bin Netanya bin Elisama--ia keturunan raja dan perwira tinggi raja--beserta sepuluh orang kepada Gedalya bin Ahikam di Mizpa. Sementara mereka makan roti bersama-sama di Mizpa,
But in the seuenth moneth came Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, the sonne of Elishama of the seede royall, and the princes of the King, and tenne men with him, vnto Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam to Mizpah, and there they did eate bread together in Mizpah.
2 maka bangkitlah Ismael bin Netanya dengan kesepuluh orang yang ada bersama-sama dia, lalu mereka memukul mati Gedalya bin Ahikam bin Safan dengan pedang; demikianlah Ismael membunuh dia yang telah diangkat raja Babel atas negeri itu.
Then arose Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah with these tenne men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan with the sword, and slewe him, whom the King of Babel had made gouernour ouer the lande.
3 Juga semua orang Yehuda yang ada bersama-sama dengan Gedalya di Mizpa dan orang-orang Kasdim, yakni prajurit, yang terdapat di sana dipukul mati oleh Ismael.
Ishmael also slewe all the Iewes that were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and all the Caldeans that were found there, and the men of warre.
4 Esok harinya sesudah ia membunuh Gedalya--ketika itu belum ada yang tahu--
Now the second day that he had slaine Gedaliah, and no man knewe it,
5 datanglah orang-orang dari Sikhem, dari Silo dan dari Samaria, delapan puluh orang jumlahnya, yang janggutnya bercukur, pakaiannya koyak-koyak dan badannya bertoreh-toreh; mereka membawa korban sajian dan kemenyan untuk dipersembahkan di rumah TUHAN.
There came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, euen fourescore men, hauing their beardes shauen, and their clothes rent and cut, with offerings and incense in their hands to offer in the house of the Lord.
6 Lalu keluarlah Ismael bin Netanya dari Mizpa untuk mendapatkan mereka sambil menangis. Ketika ia bertemu dengan mereka, berkatalah ia kepada mereka: "Pergilah kepada Gedalya bin Ahikam!"
And Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meete them, weeping as he went: and when he met them, he said vnto them, Come to Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam.
7 Tetapi ketika mereka sampai ke tengah-tengah kota itu, maka mereka disembelih oleh Ismael bin Netanya dengan dibantu oleh orang-orang yang bersama-sama dengan dia; mayat-mayat mereka dicampakkan ke dalam perigi.
And when they came into the middes of the citie, Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah slewe them, and cast them into the middes of the pit, he and the men that were with him.
8 Tetapi di antara mereka terdapat sepuluh orang yang berkata kepada Ismael: "Janganlah bunuh kami, sebab kami masih mempunyai perbekalan tersembunyi di luar kota, yakni gandum, jelai, minyak dan madu!" Maka iapun membiarkan mereka, tidak membunuhnya bersama-sama dengan rekan-rekan mereka.
But tenne men were founde among them, that saide vnto Ishmael, Slay vs not: for we haue treasures in the fielde, of wheate, and of barley, and of oyle, and of honie: so he stayed, and slew them not among their brethren.
9 Adapun perigi, ke mana Ismael melemparkan segala mayat orang-orang yang dipukulnya mati itu adalah perigi besar yang telah dibuat oleh raja Asa untuk menghadapi Baesa, raja Israel; itulah yang diisi Ismael bin Netanya dengan mayat orang-orang yang mati terbunuh itu.
Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast the dead bodies of the men (whom he had slayne because of Gedaliah) is it, which Asa the King had made because of Basha King of Israel, and Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slaine.
10 Lalu Ismael mengangkut sebagai tawanan seluruh sisa-sisa rakyat yang ada di Mizpa itu, puteri-puteri raja dan semua orang yang masih tinggal di Mizpa yang telah ditempatkan di bawah Gedalya bin Ahikam oleh Nebuzaradan, kepala pasukan pengawal itu. Ismael bin Netanya mengangkut mereka sebagai tawanan, lalu ia berangkat untuk menyeberang ke daerah bani Amon.
Then Ishmael caryed away captiue all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, euen the Kings daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-adan the chiefe steward had committed to Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, and Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah caried them away captiue, and departed to goe ouer to the Ammonites.
11 Tetapi ketika Yohanan bin Kareah serta semua perwira tentara, yang bersama-sama dengan dia, mendengar tentang segala kejahatan yang telah dilakukan Ismael bin Netanya,
But when Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste that were with him, heard of all the euill that Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah had done,
12 maka merekapun mengumpulkan semua anak buah mereka, lalu mereka berangkat memerangi Ismael bin Netanya. Mereka bertemu dengan dia di telaga yang di Gibeon.
Then they all tooke their men, and went to fight with Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, and founde him by ye great waters that are in Gibeon.
13 Ketika seluruh rakyat yang bersama-sama dengan Ismael melihat Yohanan bin Kareah serta semua perwira tentara yang bersama-sama dengan dia, maka bersukacitalah mereka.
Nowe when all the people whom Ishmael caryed away captiue, sawe Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste, that were with him, they were glad.
14 Semua orang yang diangkut sebagai tawanan oleh Ismael dari Mizpa itu berbalik dan pergi mengikuti Yohanan bin Kareah.
So all the people, that Ishmael had caryed away captiue from Mizpah, returned and came againe, and went vnto Iohanan the sonne of Kareah.
15 Tetapi Ismael bin Netanya beserta delapan orang terluput dari tangan Yohanan dan pergi ke daerah bani Amon.
But Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, escaped from Iohanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites.
16 Lalu Yohanan bin Kareah serta semua perwira tentara yang bersama-sama dengan dia mengumpulkan seluruh sisa-sisa rakyat yang diangkut sebagai tawanan oleh Ismael bin Netanya dari Mizpa, setelah ia memukul mati Gedalya bin Ahikam: yaitu laki-laki, prajurit-prajurit, perempuan, anak-anak dan pegawai-pegawai istana yang dibawa kembali dari Gibeon,
Then tooke Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste that were with him, all the remnant of the people, whom Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah had caried away captiue from Mizpah, (after that he had slaine Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam) euen the strong men of warre, and the women, and the children, and the eunuches, whom hee had brought againe from Gibeon:
17 kemudian mereka berjalan terus dan berhenti di tempat penginapan milik Kimham dekat Betlehem, dengan maksud berjalan terus menuju Mesir,
And they departed and dwelt in Geruth Chimham, which is by Beth-lehem, to goe and to enter into Egypt,
18 untuk mengelakkan orang-orang Kasdim, yang ditakuti mereka, oleh karena Ismael bin Netanya telah memukul mati Gedalya bin Ahikam yang telah diangkat raja Babel atas negeri itu.
Because of the Caldeans: for they feared them, because Ishmael ye sonne of Nethaniah had slaine Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, whom the King of Babel made gouernour in the land.
