1 Setelah lewat dua puluh tahun selesailah Salomo mendirikan rumah TUHAN dan istananya sendiri.
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of Jehovah, and his own house,
2 Maka Salomo memperkuat kota-kota yang diberikan Huram kepadanya, dan menyuruh orang Israel menetap di sana.
that the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the sons of Israel to dwell there.
3 Lalu Salomo pergi ke Hamat-Zoba dan menaklukkannya.
And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah, and prevailed against it.
4 Kemudian ia memperkuat Tadmor di padang gurun dan semua kota perbekalan yang didirikannya di Hamat.
And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store-cities, which he built in Hamath.
5 Ia memperkuat juga Bet-Horon Hulu dan Bet-Horon Hilir menjadi kota kubu yang bertembok, berpintu gerbang dan berpalang,
Also he built Beth-horon the upper, and Beth-horon the lower, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars,
6 dan juga Baalat, dan segala kota perbekalan kepunyaan Salomo, segala kota tempat kereta, kota-kota tempat orang berkuda dan apa saja yang Salomo ingin mendirikannya di Yerusalem, atau di gunung Libanon, atau di segenap negeri kekuasaannya.
and Baalath, and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
7 Semua orang yang masih tinggal dari orang Het, orang Amori, orang Feris, orang Hewi dan orang Yebus, yang tidak termasuk orang Israel,
As for all the people who were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, that were not of Israel,
8 yakni keturunan bangsa-bangsa yang masih tinggal di negeri itu dan yang tidak dibinasakan oleh orang Israel, merekalah yang dikerahkan Salomo untuk menjadi orang rodi; demikianlah mereka sampai hari ini.
of their sons who were left after them in the land whom the sons of Israel did not consumed, of them Solomon raised a levy of bondservants to this day.
9 Tetapi orang Israel tidak ada yang dijadikan budak oleh Salomo untuk pekerjaannya, melainkan mereka menjadi prajurit, atau perwira pasukan berkuda, atau panglima atas pasukan kereta dan pasukan berkuda.
But Solomon made no servants of the sons of Israel for his work, but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.
10 Dan inilah pemimpin-pemimpin umum raja Salomo: dua ratus lima puluh orang yang memerintah rakyat.
And these were the chief officers of king Solomon, even two hundred and fifty that bore rule over the people.
11 Dan Salomo memindahkan anak Firaun dari kota Daud ke rumah yang didirikannya baginya, karena katanya: "Tidak boleh seorang isteriku tinggal dalam istana Daud, raja Israel, karena tempat-tempat yang telah dimasuki tabut TUHAN adalah kudus."
And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David to the house that he had built for her. For he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy in which the ark of Jehovah has come.
12 Lalu Salomo mempersembahkan korban-korban bakaran bagi TUHAN di atas mezbah TUHAN yang didirikannya di depan balai Bait Suci,
Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah, which he had built before the porch,
13 sesuai dengan apa yang menurut perintah Musa ditetapkan sebagai korban untuk setiap hari, yakni pada hari-hari Sabat, pada bulan-bulan baru, dan tiga kali setahun pada hari-hari raya: pada hari raya Roti Tidak Beragi, pada hari raya Tujuh Minggu dan pada hari raya Pondok Daun.
even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
14 Dan menurut peraturan Daud, ayahnya, ia menetapkan rombongan para imam dalam tugas jabatan mereka, dan orang-orang Lewi dalam tugas menyanyikan puji-pujian dan menyelenggarakan ibadah di hadapan para imam, setiap hari menurut yang ditetapkan untuk hari itu, dan juga penunggu-penunggu pintu gerbang dalam rombongan mereka untuk setiap pintu gerbang. Karena demikianlah perintah Daud, abdi Allah.
And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required, also the porters by their divisions at every gate. For so David the man of God had commanded.
15 Mereka tidak menyimpang dari perintah raja mengenai para imam dan orang-orang Lewi dalam perkara apapun, juga mengenai perbendaharaan.
And they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
16 Maka terlaksanalah segala pekerjaan Salomo, dari hari dasar rumah TUHAN diletakkan sampai kepada hari rumah itu selesai. Dengan demikian selesailah sudah rumah TUHAN.
Now all the work of Solomon was prepared from the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and until it was finished. So the house of Jehovah was completed.
17 Kemudian Salomo pergi ke Ezion-Geber dan ke Elot, yang letaknya di tepi laut, di tanah Edom.
Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.
18 Dengan perantaraan anak buahnya Huram mengirim kapal-kapal kepadanya dan anak buah yang tahu tentang laut. Bersama-sama anak buah Salomo mereka sampai ke Ofir dan dari sana mereka mengambil empat ratus lima puluh talenta emas, yang mereka bawa kepada raja Salomo.
And Huram sent ships to him by the hands of his servants, and servants who had knowledge of the sea. And they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
