1 Anak-anak Yehuda ialah Peres, Hezron, Karmi, Hur dan Syobal.

The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

2 Reaya, anak Syobal, memperanakkan Yahat, dan Yahat memperanakkan Ahumai dan Lahad. Itulah kaum-kaum orang Zora.

Truly, Reaiah, the son of Shobal, conceived Jahath; from him were born Ahumai and Lahad. These are the kindred of the Zorathites.

3 Inilah anak-anak Etam: Yizreel, Isma dan Idbas; nama saudara perempuan mereka ialah Hazelelponi;

And this is the stock of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.

4 lalu Pnuel, bapa Gedor, dan Ezer, bapa Husa. Itulah keturunan Hur, anak sulung Efrata, bapa Betlehem.

Now Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratha, the father of Bethlehem.

5 Asyur, bapa Tekoa, mempunyai dua isteri, yakni Hela dan Naara.

Truly, for Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, there were two wives: Helah and Naarah.

6 Naara melahirkan baginya Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni dan orang Ahastari. Itulah anak-anak Naara.

And Naarah bore to him: Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These are the sons of Naarah.

7 Anak-anak Hela ialah Zeret, Yezohar dan Etnan.

And the sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

8 Kos memperanakkan Anub, Hazobeba dan kaum-kaum Aharhel bin Harum.

Now Koz conceived Anub, and Zobebah, and the kindred of Aharhel, the son of Harum.

9 Yabes lebih dimuliakan dari pada saudara-saudaranya; nama Yabes itu diberi ibunya kepadanya sebab katanya: "Aku telah melahirkan dia dengan kesakitan."

But Jabez was renowned, more so than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “For I bore him in sorrow.”

10 Yabes berseru kepada Allah Israel, katanya: "Kiranya Engkau memberkati aku berlimpah-limpah dan memperluas daerahku, dan kiranya tangan-Mu menyertai aku, dan melindungi aku dari pada malapetaka, sehingga kesakitan tidak menimpa aku!" Dan Allah mengabulkan permintaannya itu.

Truly, Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “If only, when blessing, you will bless me, and will broaden my borders, and your hand will be with me, and you will cause me not to be oppressed by evil.” And God granted to him the things for which he prayed.

11 Kelub, saudara Suha, memperanakkan Mehir, dialah ayah Eston;

Now Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, conceived Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 dan Eston memperanakkan Bet-Rafa, Paseah dan Tehina, bapa Ir-Nahas. Itulah orang-orang Rekha.

Then Eshton conceived Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13 Anak-anak Kenas ialah Otniel dan Seraya; dan anak-anak Otniel ialah Hatat dan Meonotai;

Now the sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel were Hathath and Meonothai.

14 dan Meonotai memperanakkan Ofra. Seraya memperanakkan Yoab, bapa Lembah Tukang-tukang, karena mereka adalah tukang-tukang.

Meonothai conceived Ophrah, but Seraiah conceived Joab, the father of the Valley of Artisans. For indeed, there were artisans there.

15 Anak-anak Kaleb bin Yefune ialah Iru, Ela dan Naam; dan keturunan Ela ialah Kenas.

Truly, the sons of Chelub, the son of Jephunneh, were Iru, and Elah, and Naam. And the sons of Elah: Kenaz.

16 Anak-anak Yehaleleel ialah Zif, Zifa, Tireya dan Asareel.

Also, the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.

17 Anak-anak Ezra ialah Yeter, Mered, Efer dan Yalon. Itulah anak-anak Bica, puteri Firaun yang telah dikawini Mered. Perempuan ini melahirkan Miryam, Samai dan Yisbah, bapa Estemoa.

And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and he conceived Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.

19 Anak-anak isteri Hodia, saudara perempuan Naham, ialah Abu Kehila, orang Garmi itu, dan Estemoa, orang Maakha itu.

21 Keturunan Sela, anak Yehuda, ialah Er, bapa Lekha, dan Lada, bapa Maresa, dan kaum-kaum para pengusaha kain lenan halus di Bet-Asybea,

The sons of Shelah, the son of Judah: Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, and the kindred of the house of the workers of fine linen in the house of the oath,

22 lalu Yokim dan orang-orang Kozeba, lagi Yoas dan Saraf yang menguasai Moab dan kemudian pulang ke Betlehem; --riwayat-riwayat ini tua.

28 Mereka diam di Bersyeba, Molada, Hazar-Sual,

30 Betuel, Horma, Ziklag,

And their towns were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,

33 juga segala desanya yang di sekitar perkampungan-perkampungan itu sampai ke Baal. Itulah tempat-tempat kediaman mereka dan mereka mempunyai silsilahnya sendiri.

with all their villages, on every side of these cities, as far as Baal. This is their habitation and the distribution of the settlements.

34 Dan Mesobab, Yamlekh, Yosa bin Amazia,

And there were Meshobab and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah,

35 Yoel, Yehu bin Yosibya bin Seraya bin Asiel,

and Joel, and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 Elyoenai, Yaakoba, Yesohaya, Asaya, Adiel, Yesimiel, Benaya,

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 Ziza bin Sifei bin Alon bin Yedaya bin Simri bin Semaya--

as well as Ziza, the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.

38 orang-orang ini yang disebutkan dengan nama-namanya adalah pemimpin-pemimpin di antara kaum-kaum mereka. Keluarga-keluarga mereka makin bertambah banyak.

These were the names of the leaders in their kindred. And they were multiplied greatly within the houses of their marriages.

39 Oleh sebab itu mereka pindah ke arah Gedor sampai ke sebelah timur lembah untuk mencari padang rumput bagi kambing domba mereka.

And they set out, so that they might enter into Gedor, as far as the eastern valley, and so that they might seek pastures for their flocks.

40 Mereka menemui padang rumput yang gemuk dan baik; negeri itu luas, aman dan sentosa; orang-orang yang diam di sana sebelum mereka berasal dari Ham.

And they found fat and very good pastures, and a very wide and quiet and fruitful land, in which some from the stock of Ham had lived before.

41 Orang-orang yang namanya tertulis ini datang dalam zaman Hizkia, raja Yehuda, dan memusnahkan kemah-kemah orang Ham dan orang Meunim yang terdapat di sana dan menumpas mereka; demikianlah sampai hari ini. So then, those whose names have been written above, went forth in the days of Hezekiah, the king of Judah. And they struck down the inhabitants who had been found there with their dwellings. And they wiped them out, even to the present day. And they lived in place of them, because they found very fat pastures there.
