Mazmur 89
1 Nyanyian pengajaran Etan, orang Ezrahi.
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2 Sebab aku tahu kasih-Mu kekal abadi, kesetiaan-Mu teguh seperti langit.
For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: your faithfulness shall you establish in the very heavens.
3 Engkau berkata, "Aku sudah membuat perjanjian dengan orang pilihan-Ku; Aku telah bersumpah kepada Daud, hamba-Ku:
I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 'Takhtamu Kupertahankan untuk selama-lamanya, turun-temurun anak cucumu akan mendudukinya.'"
Your seed will I establish for ever, and build up your throne to all generations. (Selah)
5 Sidang surgawi memuji perbuatan-perbuatan-Mu yang ajaib, dan menyanyikan kesetiaan-Mu, TUHAN.
And the heavens shall praise your wonders, O LORD: your faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 Di langit tak ada yang seperti Engkau, ya TUHAN, tak ada makhluk surgawi yang menyamai Engkau.
For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7 Engkau dihormati di kalangan para suci, ditakuti lebih dari semua di sekeliling-Mu.
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
8 TUHAN, Allah Yang Mahakuasa, siapakah sekuat Engkau? Engkau setia dalam segala-galanya ya TUHAN.
O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto you? or to your faithfulness round about you?
9 Engkau menguasai laut yang bergelora, dan meredakan ombaknya yang dahsyat.
You rule the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, you still them.
10 Rahab, naga laut, Kauremukkan dan Kaubunuh, dengan tangan kuat Kaukalahkan musuh-musuh-Mu.
You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; you have scattered your enemies with your strong arm.
11 Langit dan bumi adalah milik-Mu, dunia dan segala isinya ciptaan-Mu.
The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours: as for the world and the fullness thereof, you have founded them.
12 Engkaulah yang menjadikan utara dan selatan, Gunung Tabor dan Hermon bersorak-sorai bagi-Mu.
The north and the south you have created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name.
13 Betapa besar kuasa-Mu, dan betapa hebat kekuatan-Mu!
You have a mighty arm: strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.
14 Keadilan dan hukum adalah dasar kerajaan-Mu, kasih dan kesetiaan nyata dalam segala tindakan-Mu.
Justice and judgment are the habitation of your throne: mercy and truth shall go before your face.
15 Berbahagialah bangsa yang beribadat dengan gembira, yang hidup dalam cahaya kehadiran-Mu, TUHAN.
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance.
16 Sepanjang hari mereka bersukacita dan tetap teguh, karena kebaikan-Mu.
In your name shall they rejoice all the day: and in your righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 Engkau memberi kami kemenangan yang gilang-gemilang, karena kebaikan-Mulah kami menang.
For you are the glory of their strength: and in your favour our horn shall be exalted.
18 Sebab pelindung kami adalah orang pilihan-Mu, ya TUHAN; raja kami adalah milik Allah Kudus Israel.
For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19 Dahulu kala dalam suatu penglihatan, Engkau berkata kepada hamba-Mu yang setia, "Aku telah menolong seorang pahlawan, seorang yang Kupilih dari rakyat telah Kutinggikan.
Then you spoke in vision to your holy one, and said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 Aku telah menemukan Daud, hamba-Ku, dan Kulantik dia dengan minyak upacara.
I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 Kekuatan-Ku akan selalu melindunginya, kuasa-Ku akan menguatkan dia.
With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 Ia tak akan dikalahkan musuh, dan tak akan ditindas orang jahat.
The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 Semua musuhnya akan Kubinasakan, Kubunuh siapa saja yang membenci dia.
And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 Aku akan tetap mengasihi dia dan setia kepadanya, dan membuat dia semakin berkuasa.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 Kerajaannya akan Kuluaskan, dari Laut Tengah sampai ke Sungai Efrat.
I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 Ia akan berkata kepada-Ku, 'Engkaulah Bapaku, Allahku, pelindung dan penyelamatku.'
He shall cry unto me, You are my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Aku akan menjadikan dia putra-Ku yang sulung, yang paling agung di antara semua raja.
Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 Dia akan tetap Kukasihi sampai kekal, perjanjian-Ku dengan dia tetap teguh.
My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 Takhtanya Kupertahankan selama langit ada di atas bumi, turun-temurun anak cucunya akan mendudukinya.
His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Tetapi kalau keturunannya melanggar hukum-Ku, dan tidak hidup menurut perintah-Ku,
If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 kalau mereka tidak mengindahkan ketetapan-Ku dan mengabaikan peraturan-Ku,
If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
32 mereka Kuhukum dengan cambuk karena pelanggarannya, dan Kutimpa dengan bencana karena dosa-dosanya.
Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Tetapi Aku akan tetap mengasihi Daud, dan tak akan mengingkari kesetiaan-Ku.
Nevertheless my loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
34 Perjanjian-Ku dengan dia takkan Kubatalkan, dari janji-Ku tak satu pun Kutarik kembali.
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Sekali untuk selamanya Aku bersumpah demi nama-Ku yang suci; Aku tak akan berbohong kepada Daud.
Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36 Takhtanya akan bertahan selama matahari ada, turun-temurun anak cucunya akan mendudukinya.
His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37 Kerajaannya tetap ada seperti bulan, saksi setia di awan-awan."
It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. (Selah)
38 Tetapi sekarang Engkau marah kepada raja, Engkau membuang dan menolak orang pilihan-Mu.
But you have cast off and abhorred, you have been angry with your anointed.
39 Kaubatalkan perjanjian-Mu dengan hamba-Mu, mahkotanya Kaulemparkan ke dalam lumpur.
You have made void the covenant of your servant: you have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
40 Kaurobohkan tembok-tembok kotanya, benteng-benteng Kaujadikan reruntuhan.
You have broken down all his hedges; you have brought his strong holds to ruin.
41 Semua orang yang lewat merampas miliknya, ia menjadi bahan ejekan bagi tetangganya.
All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
42 Engkau memberi kemenangan kepada musuh-musuhnya, dan membuat semua lawannya bergembira.
You have set up the right hand of his adversaries; you have made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Bahkan senjatanya Kaujadikan tak berguna, Engkau tidak menolong dia dalam perang.
You have also turned the edge of his sword, and have not made him to stand in the battle.
44 Kauakhiri kuasanya yang semarak, takhtanya Kaucampakkan ke tanah.
You have made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
45 Engkau memperpendek masa mudanya, dan menutupi dia dengan malu.
The days of his youth have you shortened: you have covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Sampai kapan Engkau bersembunyi, ya TUHAN? Sampai kapan kemarahan-Mu berkobar seperti api?
How long, LORD? will you hide yourself for ever? shall your wrath burn like fire?
47 Ingatlah aku betapa singkatnya hidupku ini, Kauciptakan manusia sebagai makhluk yang fana.
Remember how short my time is: wherefore have you made all men in vain?
48 Siapakah yang dapat hidup terus dan tidak mati? Siapakah yang dapat luput dari kuburan? (Sheol h7585)
What man is he that lives, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Ya TUHAN, di manakah tanda kasih-Mu yang semula, yang Kaujanjikan kepada Daud demi kesetiaan-Mu?
Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you sware unto David in your truth?
50 Ingatlah ya TUHAN, bagaimana hamba-Mu ini dicela, aku menanggung penghinaan banyak bangsa.
Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
51 Musuh-musuh-Mu menghina raja pilihan-Mu, ya TUHAN, mengejek dia ke mana saja ia pergi.
Wherewith your enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of your anointed.
52 Pujilah TUHAN untuk selama-lamanya. Jadilah demikian! Amin!
Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
