Mazmur 79
1 Mazmur Asaf. Ya Allah, bangsa yang tidak mengenal Engkau sudah menduduki tanah pusaka-Mu. Mereka menajiskan Rumah-Mu, Yerusalem dijadikan reruntuhan.
A PSALM OF ASAPH. O God, nations have come into Your inheritance, They have defiled Your holy temple, They made Jerusalem become heaps,
2 Mayat hamba-hamba-Mu mereka tinggalkan menjadi makanan burung-burung di udara. Jenazah para kekasih-Mu mereka biarkan menjadi makanan binatang liar.
They gave the dead bodies of Your servants [As] food for the birds of the heavens, The flesh of Your saints For the wild beast of the earth.
3 Di seluruh kota Yerusalem darah mereka tertumpah seperti air; tak ada yang menguburkan mereka.
They have shed their blood As water around Jerusalem, And there is none burying.
4 Kami menjadi bahan ejekan bangsa-bangsa tetangga, mereka menertawakan dan mencemoohkan kami.
We have been a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and a derision to our surrounders.
5 Ya TUHAN, untuk selamanyakah Engkau marah, dan cemburu-Mu berkobar seperti api?
Until when, O YHWH? Are You angry forever? Your jealousy burns as fire.
6 Tumpahkanlah kemarahan-Mu ke atas bangsa-bangsa yang tidak mengenal Engkau, dan ke atas kerajaan-kerajaan yang tidak berbakti kepada-Mu.
Pour Your fury on the nations who have not known You, And on kingdoms that have not called on Your Name.
7 Sebab mereka sudah membinasakan umat-Mu, dan menghancurkan tempat tinggal mereka.
For [one] has devoured Jacob, And they have made his habitation desolate.
8 Jangan menghukum kami karena dosa leluhur kami. Kasihanilah kami segera, sebab kami putus asa.
Do not remember for us the iniquities of forefathers, Hurry, let Your mercies go before us, For we have been very weak.
9 Tolonglah kami ya Allah, penyelamat kami, ampunilah dosa-dosa kami dan bebaskanlah kami demi kehormatan-Mu sendiri.
Help us, O God of our salvation, Because of the glory of Your Name, And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Your Name’s sake.
10 Jangan biarkan bangsa lain bertanya tentang kami, "Di mana Allah mereka?" Biarlah kami melihat pembalasan atas bangsa-bangsa yang membunuh hamba-hamba-Mu.
Why do the nations say, “Where [is] their God?” Let [it] be known among the nations before our eyes, The vengeance of the blood of Your servants that is shed.
11 Dengarlah rintihan para tahanan; semoga orang-orang yang ditentukan untuk mati dibiarkan hidup karena kuasa-Mu.
Let the groaning of the prisoner come in before You, According to the greatness of Your arm, Leave the sons of death.
12 Ya TUHAN, balaslah bangsa-bangsa itu tujuh kali lipat karena semua penghinaan mereka terhadap-Mu.
And return to our neighbors, Sevenfold to their bosom, their reproach, With which they reproached You, O Lord.
13 Maka kami umat-Mu, domba gembalaan-Mu, akan bersyukur kepada-Mu untuk selama-lamanya, dan memuji Engkau turun-temurun.
And we, Your people, and the flock of Your pasture, We give thanks to You for all time, We recount Your praise from generation to generation!
