Mazmur 48

1 Mazmur kaum Korah. Sungguh agunglah TUHAN dan sangat terpuji di kota Allah kita, di bukit yang suci.

A song. A psalm of the Korahites. Great is the Lord and worthy all praise in the city of our God. His holy mountain,

2 Sion, bukit Allah menjulang permai kota Raja Agung menggirangkan seluruh bumi.

that rises so fair, is the joy of all the world. Like the mount of the gods is Mount Zion, the city of the great king.

3 Allah tinggal di dalam puri-purinya, ternyata Ia sendirilah pelindung-Nya.

Once God made himself known as the defence of her palaces.

4 Lihatlah, raja-raja berkumpul; mereka datang hendak menyerbu.

For see! A concert of kings passed over the frontier together.

5 Tapi melihat bukit itu, mereka tercengang; mereka gempar dan lari kebingungan.

But one glance, and they were astounded; they hastened away in dismay.

6 Di sana mereka gemetar ketakutan dan kesakitan, seperti wanita yang mau melahirkan,

Trembling took hold of them there, like the pains of a woman in labor.

7 seperti kapal yang hancur dalam topan.

They were shattered, as east wind shatters the giant ships in pieces.

8 Seperti yang kita dengar, kini kita melihatnya, di Kota TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa. Kota itu adalah Kota Allah kita, Ia membelanya untuk selama-lamanya.

What we heard, we now have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, the city of our God. God will uphold her forever. (Selah)

9 Di dalam Rumah-Mu kami merenungkan kasih-Mu, ya Allah.

We think, O God, of your love, in the midst of your temple.

10 Nama-Mu termasyhur dan dipuji di seluruh bumi, Engkau memerintah dengan adil.

Your fame, O God, like your name, shall extend to the ends of the earth. Victory fills your hand.

11 Biarlah rakyat Sion dan Yehuda bersorak gembira, karena Engkau menghukum lawan mereka.

Let mount Zion be glad; let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments.

12 Kelilingilah Sion, putarilah dia, dan hitunglah menaranya.

Walk about Zion, go round her; count her towers.

13 Perhatikan temboknya, periksalah bentengnya, supaya kamu dapat menceritakan kepada keturunanmu;

Set your mind on her ramparts, consider her palaces; that you tell to the next generation

14 "Dialah Allah, Allah kita untuk selama-lamanya, Dia akan memimpin kita sampai kekal."

That such is God, our God he it is who shall guide us for ever and ever.
