Mazmur 12
1 Untuk pemimpin kor. Menurut lagu yang kedelapan. Mazmur Daud. Tolonglah kami, ya TUHAN, sebab tidak ada lagi orang yang baik, orang yang setia kepada-Mu sudah lenyap.
To him that excelleth upon the eight tune. A Psalme of Dauid. Helpe Lord, for there is not a godly man left: for the faithfull are fayled from among the children of men.
2 Mereka semua saling membohongi, saling menipu dengan kata-kata yang manis.
They speake deceitfully euery one with his neighbour, flattering with their lips, and speake with a double heart.
3 Hentikanlah kata-kata yang merayu itu, TUHAN, bungkamkan orang-orang bermulut besar,
The Lord cut off all flattering lippes, and the tongue that speaketh proude things:
4 yang berkata, "Kami berkuasa dengan lidah kami! Apa saja dapat kami katakan, dan tak ada yang bisa menghalangi!"
Which haue saide, With our tongue will we preuaile: our lippes are our owne: who is Lord ouer vs?
5 Kata TUHAN, "Orang miskin ditindas dan orang sengsara mengaduh. Maka sekarang juga Aku datang memberi ketentraman yang mereka rindukan."
Now for the oppression of the needy, and for the sighes of the poore, I will vp, sayeth the Lord, and will set at libertie him, whom the wicked hath snared.
6 Janji TUHAN teguh dan dapat diandalkan, seperti perak murni yang diuji di dalam api.
The wordes of the Lord are pure wordes, as the siluer, tried in a fornace of earth, fined seuen folde.
7 Orang jahat berkeliaran di mana-mana, kejahatan disanjung oleh setiap orang. Tetapi Engkau melindungi kami, ya TUHAN, jagalah kami terhadap orang-orang jahat itu.
Thou wilt keepe them, O Lord: thou wilt preserue him from this generation for euer.
The wicked walke on euery side: when they are exalted, it is a shame for the sonnes of men.
