Yunus 2
1 Dari dalam perut ikan itu, Yunus berdoa kepada TUHAN Allahnya. Katanya,
Jonah prayed to the Lord his God, out of the belly of the fish,
2 "Ya TUHAN, dalam kesusahanku aku berseru kepada-Mu dan Engkau menjawab aku. Dari dunia orang mati aku mohon pertolongan, permohonanku Kaudengar dan Kauperhatikan. (Sheol h7585)
and said: I cried out of my distress, to the Lord and he answered me; out of the midst of Sheol I cried aloud, and you heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 Ke tempat yang dalam aku Kaulemparkan, sampai ke dasar lautan. Di sana arus air mengelilingi aku, ombak dan gelombang menghempaskan aku.
For you cast me into the deep, into heart of the seas, and the great flood rolled about me; all your breakers and your waves passed over me.
4 Dalam hatiku aku berkata: TUHAN sudah mengusir aku ini dari hadapan-Nya. Tak akan aku melihat lagi rumah kediaman-Nya yang suci.
Then I said, I am driven out, away from your sight; How will I ever again look towards your holy temple?
5 Air laut naik sampai ke bibirku, samudra raya meliputi seluruh tubuhku, ganggang laut membelit kepalaku.
The waters surrounded me, the great deep engulfed me, the sea weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 Aku terjun sampai ke dasar pegunungan, ke alam yang gerbangnya terkunci hingga akhir zaman. Nyawaku letih lesu di dalam diriku, lalu aku ingat dan berseru kepada-Mu. Maka sampailah doaku kepada-Mu, ke dalam Rumah-Mu yang kudus. Lalu Kaunaikkan aku dari dalam laut, ya TUHAN Allahku!
I went down to the roots of the mountains; the prison of the earth closed over me forever. Yet you brought up my life from destruction, O Lord my God.
As my life slipped away, I remembered the Lord; and my prayer reached you, in your holy temple.
8 Para penyembah berhala yang sia-sia, meninggalkan Engkau dan tak lagi setia.
Those who worship worthless idols abandon their own mercy,
9 Tetapi aku akan nyanyikan puji-pujian bagi-Mu dan kupersembahkan kurban untuk-Mu. Segala janjiku akan kulakukan. Engkaulah TUHAN yang menyelamatkan."
but I will sacrifice to you with loud thanksgiving! I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is the Lord’s.
10 Kemudian, atas perintah TUHAN, ikan itu memuntahkan Yunus ke daratan.
And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it threw up Jonah upon the dry land.
