Ayub 36
1 Dengarkanlah sebentar lagi, dan bersabarlah, masih ada yang hendak kukatakan demi Allah.
Elihu also proceeded and sayde,
Suffer me a litle, and I will instruct thee: for I haue yet to speake on Gods behalfe.
3 Pengetahuanku luas; akan kugunakan itu untuk membuktikan bahwa adillah Penciptaku.
I will fetche my knowledge afarre off, and will attribute righteousnes vnto my Maker.
4 Perkataanku tidak ada yang palsu; orang yang sungguh arif ada di depanmu.
For truely my wordes shall not be false, and he that is perfect in knowledge, speaketh with thee.
5 Allah itu perkasa! Segala sesuatu difahami-Nya. Tak seorang pun dipandang-Nya hina.
Behold, the mighty God casteth away none that is mighty and valiant of courage.
6 Orang yang berdosa tak dibiarkan-Nya hidup lama, Ia memberi keadilan kepada orang yang menderita.
He mainteineth not the wicked, but he giueth iudgement to the afflicted.
7 Orang-orang jujur diperhatikan-Nya, dibuat-Nya mereka berkuasa seperti raja-raja, sehingga mereka dihormati selama-lamanya.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but they are with Kings in ye throne, where he placeth them for euer: thus they are exalted.
8 Tetapi bila orang dibelenggu dengan rantai besi, menderita akibat perbuatannya sendiri,
And if they bee bound in fetters and tyed with the cordes of affliction,
9 maka dosa dan kesombongan mereka akan disingkapkan oleh Allah.
Then will he shewe them their worke and their sinnes, because they haue bene proude.
10 Disuruhnya mereka mendengarkan peringatan-Nya dan meninggalkan kejahatan mereka.
He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth them that they returne from iniquity.
11 Jika mereka menurut kepada Allah dan berbakti kepada-Nya, mereka hidup damai dan makmur sampai akhir hayatnya.
If they obey and serue him, they shall end their dayes in prosperity, and their yeres in pleasures.
12 Tetapi jika mereka tidak mendengarkan, mereka akan mati dalam kebodohan.
But if they wil not obey, they shall passe by the sworde, and perish without knowledge.
13 Orang yang tak bertuhan menyimpan kemarahan; biar dihukum TUHAN, tak mau mereka minta bantuan.
But the hypocrites of heart increase the wrath: for they call not when he bindeth them.
14 Mereka mati kepayahan di masa mudanya, karena hidupnya penuh hina.
Their soule dyeth in youth, and their life among the whoremongers.
15 Allah mengajar manusia melalui derita, Ia memakai kesusahan untuk menyadarkannya.
He deliuereth the poore in his affliction, and openeth their eare in trouble.
16 Allah telah membebaskan engkau dari kesukaran, sehingga kau dapat menikmati ketentraman, dan meja hidanganmu penuh makanan.
Euen so woulde he haue taken thee out of the streight place into a broade place and not shut vp beneath: and that which resteth vpon thy table, had bene full of fat.
17 Tetapi kini sesuai dengan kejahatanmu, engkau menerima hukumanmu.
But thou art ful of the iudgement of the wicked, though iudgement and equitie maintaine all things.
18 Waspadalah, jangan kau tertipu oleh uang sogokan; jangan kau disesatkan karena kekayaan.
For Gods wrath is, least hee should take that away in thine abundance: for no multitude of giftes can deliuer thee.
19 Sia-sia saja kau berseru minta dibantu, percuma segala tenaga dan kekuatanmu.
Wil he regard thy riches? he regardeth not golde, nor all them that excel in strength.
20 Jangan kaurindukan malam gelap, saatnya bangsa-bangsa musnah dan lenyap.
Be not carefull in the night, howe he destroyeth the people out of their place.
21 Waspadalah, jangan berpaling kepada kedurhakaan. Deritamu dimaksudkan agar kautinggalkan kejahatan.
Take thou heede: looke not to iniquitie: for thou hast chosen it rather then affliction.
22 Ingatlah, Allah itu sungguh besar kuasa-Nya. Adakah guru sehebat Dia?
Beholde, God exalteth by his power: what teacher is like him?
23 Siapakah dapat menentukan jalan bagi-Nya atau berani menuduh-Nya berbuat salah?
Who hath appointed to him his way? or who can say, Thou hast done wickedly?
24 Selalu Ia dipuji karena karya-Nya, dan engkau pun patut menjunjung-Nya.
Remember that thou magnifie his worke, which men behold.
25 Semua orang melihat perbuatan-Nya; tetapi tak seorang pun benar-benar memahami-Nya.
All men see it, and men beholde it afarre off.
26 Allah sungguh mulia, tak dapat kita menyelami-Nya ataupun menghitung jumlah tahun-Nya.
Beholde, God is excellent, and we knowe him not, neither can the nomber of his yeres bee searched out.
27 Allah yang menarik air dari bumi menjadi awan lalu mengubahnya menjadi tetesan air hujan.
When he restraineth the droppes of water, the rayne powreth down by the vapour thereof,
28 Ia mencurahkan hujan dari mega; disiramkan-Nya ke atas umat manusia.
Which raine the cloudes do droppe and let fall abundantly vpon man.
29 Tak seorang pun mengerti gerak awan-awan serta bunyi guruh di langit tempat Allah berdiam.
Who can know the diuisions of ye clouds and the thunders of his tabernacle?
30 Ia menerangi seluruh langit dengan kilat, tetapi dasar laut tetap gelap pekat.
Beholde, he spreadeth his light vpon it, and couereth the bottome of the sea.
31 Itulah caranya Ia menghidupi bangsa-bangsa dan memberinya makanan yang berlimpah ruah.
For thereby hee iudgeth the people, and giueth meate abundantly.
32 Ia menangkap kilat dengan tangan-Nya dan menyuruhnya menyambar sasaran-Nya.
He couereth the light with the clouds, and commandeth them to go against it.
33 Bunyi guruh menandakan bahwa badai akan melanda, ternak pun tahu angin ribut segera tiba.
His companion sheweth him thereof, and there is anger in rising vp.
