Ezra 7
1 Bertahun-tahun kemudian, ketika Artahsasta memerintah sebagai raja Persia, ada seorang laki-laki bernama Ezra, dari keturunan Imam Agung Harun. Garis keturunannya dari bawah ke atas adalah sebagai berikut: Ezra, Seraya, Azarya, Hilkia,
Now after this, during the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra came up from Babylon. Ezra's ancestors were Seraiah, Azariah, Hilkiah,
2 Salum, Zadok, Ahitub,

3 Amarya, Azarya, Merayot,
Amariah, Azariah, Meraioth,
4 Zerahya, Uzi, Buki,
Zerahiah, Uzzi, Bukki,
5 Abisua, Pinehas, Eleazar, Imam Agung Harun.

6 Ezra seorang yang terpelajar dan ia tahu banyak tentang Hukum yang diberikan TUHAN, Allah Israel kepada Musa. Karena Ezra diberkati TUHAN Allahnya, maka raja memberi kepadanya segala yang dimintanya. Pada tahun ketujuh pemerintahan Raja Artahsasta, berangkatlah Ezra dari Babel menuju Yerusalem bersama serombongan orang Israel yang terdiri dari sejumlah imam, orang Lewi, penyanyi serta penjaga gerbang di Rumah TUHAN, dan para pekerja.
Ezra came up from Babylon and he was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses that Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given. The king gave him anything he asked since the hand of Yahweh was with him.
Some of the descendants of Israel and the priests, Levites, temple singers, gatekeepers, and those assigned to serve in the temple also went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.
8 Mereka meninggalkan Babel pada tanggal satu bulan satu dan dengan pertolongan Allah, sampailah mereka di Yerusalem pada tanggal satu bulan lima.
He arrived in Jerusalem in the fifth month of the same year.
He left Babylon on the first day of the first month. It was on the first day of the fifth month that he arrived in Jerusalem, since the good hand of God was with him.
10 Ezra telah mencurahkan segala perhatiannya kepada penyelidikan Hukum TUHAN, untuk melakukannya serta mengajarkan segala ketentuan dan peraturannya kepada bangsa Israel.
Ezra had established his heart to study, carry out, and teach the statutes and decrees of the law of Yahweh.
11 Inilah dokumen yang diberikan Raja Artahsasta kepada Ezra, seorang imam dan ahli Hukum,
This was the decree that King Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest and scribe of Yahweh's commandments and statutes for Israel:
12 "Dari Raja Artahsasta kepada Imam Ezra, ahli Hukum Allah penguasa di surga.
“The King of kings Artaxerxes, to the priest Ezra, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven:
13 Aku memerintahkan bahwa semua imam, orang Lewi dan orang Israel lainnya di seluruh kerajaanku, yang ingin pergi ke Yerusalem, diizinkan pergi dengan Saudara.
I am ordering that anyone from Israel in my kingdom along with their priests and Levites who desires to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.
14 Sebab aku dan ketujuh penasihatku mengutus Saudara ke Yerusalem dan Yehuda untuk menyelidiki keadaannya dan melihat apakah Hukum Allah yang telah dipercayakan kepada Saudara, benar-benar ditaati.
I, the king, and my seven counselors, send you all out to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem according to God's law, which is in your hand.
15 Aku dan para penasihatku mau mempersembahkan emas dan perak kepada Allah Israel, Allah yang diam di Yerusalem. Bawalah persembahan kami itu.
You are to bring the silver and gold that they have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem.
16 Bawalah juga semua emas dan perak yang Saudara kumpulkan di seluruh Babel dan segala sumbangan bangsa Israel serta imam-imamnya bagi Rumah TUHAN Allah mereka di Yerusalem.
Freely give all the silver and gold that all of Babylon has given along with what is freely offered by the people and the priests for the house of God in Jerusalem.
17 Pakailah uang itu dengan cermat untuk membeli sapi jantan, domba jantan, anak domba, gandum dan anggur. Persembahkanlah semuanya itu di atas mezbah Rumah TUHAN di Yerusalem.
So buy in full the oxen, rams and lambs, and grain and drink offerings. Offer them on the altar that is in the house of your God in Jerusalem.
18 Perak dan emas yang masih sisa boleh Saudara pakai untuk keperluan Saudara dan rekan-rekan Saudara, sesuai dengan kehendak Allah Saudara.
Do with the rest of the silver and gold whatever seems good to you and your brothers, to please your God.
19 Serahkanlah kepada Allah di Yerusalem segala perkakas yang diserahkan kepada Saudara untuk kebaktian di Rumah Allah.
Place the objects that were freely given to you before him for the service of the house of your God in Jerusalem.
20 Dan segala keperluan lain bagi Rumah TUHAN, boleh Saudara minta dari kas kerajaan.
Anything else that is needed for the house of your God that you require, take its cost from my treasury.
21 Kepada semua pengurus kas kerajaan di provinsi Efrat Barat aku perintahkan supaya apa saja yang diminta oleh Imam Ezra, ahli Hukum Allah penguasa di surga, diberikan kepadanya dengan segera,
I, King Artaxerxes, make a decree to all the treasurers in the Province Beyond the River, that anything that Ezra asks from you should be given in full,
22 sampai sebanyak jumlah ini: perak sampai 3.400 kg, gandum sampai 10.000 kg, anggur sampai 2.000 liter, minyak zaitun sampai 2.000 liter, dan garam sebanyak yang diperlukan.
up to one hundred silver talents, one hundred cors of grain, one hundred baths of wine, and one hundred baths of oil, also salt without limit.
23 Bertindaklah cermat dalam menyediakan segala sesuatu yang diminta Allah penguasa di surga bagi Rumah-Nya, supaya Ia tidak marah kepadaku atau kepada orang-orang yang memerintah sesudah aku.
Anything that comes from the decree of the God of Heaven, do it with devotion for his house. For why should his wrath come upon the kingdom of me and my sons?
24 Kalian tak boleh memungut pajak dari para imam, orang Lewi, penyanyi, penjaga pintu gerbang, pekerja, atau siapa saja yang ada hubungannya dengan Rumah TUHAN.
We are informing them about you not to impose any tribute or taxes on any of the priests, Levites, musicians, gatekeepers, or on the people assigned to the service of the temple and servants of the house of this God.
25 Saudara Ezra, pakailah hikmat yang telah diberikan Allah kepada Saudara, dan angkatlah pemimpin-pemimpin dan hakim-hakim untuk memerintah semua orang di provinsi Efrat Barat yang hidup menurut Hukum Allah Saudara. Hendaklah Saudara mengajarkan Hukum itu kepada semua orang yang belum mengetahuinya.
Ezra, with the wisdom that God has given you, you must appoint judges and magistrates to judge all the people in the Province Beyond the River, and to serve all who know the laws of your God. You must also teach those who do not know the law.
26 Setiap orang yang tidak mentaati hukum-hukum Allah Saudara, atau hukum-hukum kerajaan, harus segera dihukum mati, atau dibuang, atau disita harta bendanya, atau dipenjarakan."
Punish anyone who does not fully obey God's law or the king's law, whether by death, banishment, confiscation of their goods, or imprisonment.
27 Lalu kata Ezra, "Pujilah TUHAN, Allah yang disembah nenek moyang kita! Ia telah menggerakkan hati raja sehingga ia mau memberi perhatian khusus kepada Rumah TUHAN di Yerusalem.
Praise Yahweh, our ancestors' God, who placed all this into the king's heart to glorify Yahweh's house in Jerusalem,
28 Dengan pertolongan Allah aku disenangi oleh raja, oleh penasihat-penasihat dan pejabat-pejabatnya yang berkuasa itu; TUHAN Allahku telah memberi semangat kepadaku, sehingga aku berhasil mengajak sebanyak kepala kaum Israel untuk pulang ke Yerusalem."
and who extended covenant faithfulness to me before the king, his counselors, and all his powerful officials. I have been strengthened by the hand of Yahweh my God, and I gathered leaders from Israel to go with me.
