Yehezkiel 38

1 TUHAN berkata kepadaku,

And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:

2 "Hai manusia fana, kutukilah Gog raja agung dari negeri-negeri Mesekh dan Tubal di tanah Magog.

Son of man, set thy face against Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Resh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

3 Katakanlah kepadanya bahwa Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, adalah musuhnya.

and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Resh, Meshech, and Tubal!

4 Aku akan membelokkan dia, memasang kait pada rahangnya, dan merenggut dia keluar beserta seluruh pasukannya. Banyak sekali pasukan berkudanya yang berpakaian seragam itu. Setiap prajurit membawa perisai dan pedang.

And I will turn thee about, and put rings into thy jaws; and I will bring thee forth, thee and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in gorgeous apparel, even a great multitude with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.

5 Raja diiringi oleh prajurit-prajurit dari Persia, Sudan dan Libia, masing-masing membawa pedang dan topi baja.

Persians, Ethiopians, and Lybians are with them, all of them with shields and helmets.

6 Semua pejuang dari negeri-negeri Gomer dan Bet-Togarma di utara, maju bersama dia, dan banyak bangsa lain ikut juga.

Gomer and all his bands, the house of Togarmah from the north quarters, and all their hosts, many nations are with thee.

7 Suruhlah dia bersiap-siap dan perintahkanlah seluruh tentara yang bergabung dengan dia supaya siaga menuruti aba-abanya.

Be prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou and all thy host that are assembled unto thee, and be thou their leader!

8 Beberapa tahun lagi dia akan Kuperintahkan untuk menyerbu sebuah negeri dengan penduduk yang telah dikumpulkan kembali dari antara banyak bangsa dan yang kemudian diam di negeri itu dengan tentram. Gog akan menduduki gunung-gunung Israel yang telah lama sepi dan penuh puing-puing, tetapi yang sekarang didiami oleh rakyat yang hidup dengan damai.

After many days shalt thou be appointed over them. In the latter years shalt thou come into a land that is brought back from the sword, gathered out of many nations upon the mountains of Israel, which had been long desolate; but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell securely, all of them.

9 Dia dan tentaranya serta banyak bangsa yang mengiringinya akan datang menyerang seperti badai dan menutupi seluruh negeri seperti awan."

Thou shalt go up like a storm, thou shalt come like a cloud, to cover the land, thou and all thy bands, and many nations with thee.

10 TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata kepada Gog, "Pada saat itu engkau akan membuat rencana yang jahat.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: At the same time shall thoughts come into thy mind, and thou shalt meditate an evil design,

11 Engkau memutuskan untuk menyerbu negeri yang tak berbenteng itu, di mana penduduknya hidup dengan aman dan tentram di kota-kota yang tidak bertembok dan tidak mempunyai alat-alat pertahanan.

and shalt say, “I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

12 Engkau akan merampok dan merampas barang-barang penduduk di kota yang dahulu puing-puing itu. Penduduknya yang dikumpulkan dari berbagai bangsa, sekarang sudah mempunyai banyak harta dan ternak dan mereka tinggal di pusat dunia.

to take a spoil and to divide a prey, to turn my hand against the desolated places that have become inhabited, and against a people gathered out of the nations, possessing cattle and goods, dwelling in the heights of the earth.”

13 Penduduk Syeba dan Dedan serta para pedagang di kota-kota negeri Spanyol akan bertanya kepadamu begini, 'Apakah engkau mengerahkan tentaramu hanya untuk merampas dan merampok emas, perak, ternak dan harta benda, serta mengangkut semuanya itu?'"

Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, and all the chiefs thereof, shall say to thee, “Art thou come to take a spoil? Hast thou gathered thy company to divide a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, and to divide great spoil?”

14 Sebab itu TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi mengutus aku untuk menyampaikan kepada Gog pesan ini, "Justru pada saat umat-Ku Israel hidup dengan aman dan tentram, engkau datang menyerbu.

Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth securely, thou shalt observe it,

15 Engkau berangkat dari tempat kediamanmu, jauh di utara, diiringi tentara yang besar dan hebat, semuanya pasukan berkuda dari segala macam bangsa.

and thou shalt come up from the regions of the North, thou and many nations with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty host;

16 Lalu kauserang umat-Ku Israel seperti badai melanda bumi. Jika saatnya tiba, engkau akan Kukirim untuk menduduki tanah-Ku. Dengan tindakan-Ku melalui engkau, hai Gog, bangsa-bangsa akan tahu siapa Aku, yaitu Allah yang suci.

thou shalt come up against my people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land; in the latter days it shall come to pass, that I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in regard to thee, before their eyes, O Gog!

17 Bukankah tentang engkau Aku dahulu berbicara melalui hamba-hamba-Ku para nabi Israel? Mereka telah meramalkan bahwa di masa yang akan datang Aku akan menyuruh seorang untuk menyerang Israel. Aku TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi telah berbicara."

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Art thou not he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days and years, that I would bring thee against them?

18 TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata, "Tetapi segera sesudah Gog menyerang Israel, Aku akan mengamuk.

And it shall come to pass in that day, in the day when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, that my anger shall ascend in fury.

19 Dan dengan sangat marah Aku akan mengancam, bahwa pada hari itu ada gempa bumi yang dahsyat di negeri Israel.

For in my jealousy, in the fire of my wrath, have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel,

20 Semua ikan dan burung, semua binatang besar dan kecil, dan semua orang di muka bumi akan gemetar ketakutan menghadapi Aku. Gunung-gunung akan runtuh, tebing-tebing akan longsor dan semua tembok akan roboh.

so that the fishes of the sea, and the birds of the heavens, and the beasts of the field; and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the ground, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence; and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

21 Lalu Gog akan Kukejutkan dengan segala macam bencana. Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi telah berbicara. Anak buahnya akan saling menyerang dengan pedang mereka.

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord Jehovah, and they shall all turn their swords against each other,

22 Dia akan Kuhukum dengan wabah penyakit dan pertumpahan darah. Hujan lebat dan hujan es, api dan belerang akan Kucurahkan atas dia dan tentaranya dan atas banyak bangsa yang telah bergabung dengan dia.

And I will contend against him with pestilence, and with blood; and overflowing showers, and great hailstones, fire and brimstone, will I rain upon him and his hosts, and the many nations that are with him.

23 Dengan cara itu akan Kutunjukkan kepada segala bangsa bahwa Aku ini agung dan suci. Maka tahulah mereka bahwa Akulah TUHAN."

Thus will I show myself in my greatness and glory, and make myself known before the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
