2 Samuel 23
1 Daud anak Isai dipilih menjadi raja dan dibuat menjadi orang besar oleh Allah Yakub. Dia pula yang mengarang nyanyian-nyanyian bagi Israel. Inilah ucapan Daud yang terakhir:
Now these [be] the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man [who was] raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 Roh TUHAN telah berkata melalui aku; pesan dan amanat-Nya ada di bibirku.
The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word [was] in my tongue.
3 Allah Yakub telah berbicara; kepadaku pelindung Israel berkata: "Raja yang memerintah rakyat dengan keadilan yang memimpin dengan ketaatan pada TUHAN,
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men [must be] just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 Ia seperti sinar fajar merekah pada dini hari waktu langit cerah. Ia seperti sinar surya sehabis hujan membuat rumput hijau indah berkilauan."
And [he shall be] as the light of the morning, [when] the sun riseth, [even] a morning without clouds; [as] the tender grass [springing] out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5 Begitu juga keturunanku diberkati Allah, perjanjian-Nya kepadaku, tidak berubah, janji-Nya itu kekal dan sempurna, teratur dalam segala-galanya. Allah menjamin kemenanganku dan mengabulkan segala hasrat hatiku.
Although my house [be] not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all [things], and sure: for [this is] all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he make [it] not to grow.
6 Tetapi orang yang tak mentaati TUHAN seperti duri yang dicampakkan. Tangan orang tak dapat memegangnya;
But [the sons] of Belial [shall be] all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7 tak seorang pun mau menyentuhnya tanpa alat dari kayu atau besi. Orang-orang itu musnah dimakan api.
But the man [that] shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the [same] place.
8 Inilah nama para perwira Daud yang termasyhur: Yang pertama ialah Ishbaal, orang Hakhmoni, pemimpin "Kelompok Tiga" (Triwira). Pernah dalam satu pertempuran ia melawan delapan ratus orang dan menewaskan mereka semua dengan tombaknya.
These [be] the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same [was] Adino the Eznite: [he lift up his spear] against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 Orang kedua dalam Triwira itu ialah Eleazar anak Dodo dari kaum Ahohi. Ia mengiringi Daud ketika mereka menghadapi orang Filistin yang telah berkumpul untuk berperang. Lalu pada waktu pasukan Israel mundur,
And after him [was] Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, [one] of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines [that] were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10 Eleazar terus berjuang menumpas orang Filistin sampai ia lelah sekali. Tangannya menjadi kejang sehingga ia tak dapat melepaskan pedangnya. Pada hari itu TUHAN memberikan kemenangan yang besar kepada Israel. Pasukan Israel yang mundur tadi kembali ke tempat Eleazar bertempur, lalu menanggalkan baju perang dari mayat-mayat di situ.
He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 Orang ketiga dalam Triwira itu ialah Sama anak Age dari Harari. Pernah waktu orang Filistin berkumpul di Lehi, di sebuah ladang yang penuh kacang merah, pasukan Israel lari dari orang Filistin.
And after him [was] Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 Tetapi Sama tetap bertempur, membunuh dan mengalahkan orang Filistin, sehingga berhasil mempertahankan ladang itu. Demikianlah TUHAN memberikan kemenangan yang besar.
But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13 Pada hari yang lain menjelang musim panen, tiga orang dari 30 perwira Daud yang terkemuka turun ke Gua Adulam. Waktu itu Daud ada dalam kubu di gua itu. Orang Filistin berkemah di Lembah Refaim, dan sepasukan dari mereka menduduki Betlehem.
And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
And David [was] then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines [was] then [in] Beth-lehem.
15 Daud rindu akan kampung halamannya itu dan berkata, "Ah, sekiranya aku diberi minum air dari sumur dekat pintu gerbang di Betlehem!"
And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth-lehem, which [is] by the gate!
16 Mendengar itu ketiga orang perwira itu menerobos perkemahan orang Filistin, lalu menimba air dari sumur itu, kemudian membawanya kepada Daud. Tetapi Daud tidak mau meminumnya, malahan mencurahkannya sebagai persembahan kepada TUHAN.
And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that [was] by the gate, and took [it], and brought [it] to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17 Ia berkata, "Ya TUHAN, aku tak dapat meminum air ini! Jika kuminum, seolah-olah aku meminum darah orang-orang yang telah mempertaruhkan nyawa mereka!" Jadi Daud sama sekali tidak mau minum air itu. Itulah jasa-jasa ketiga orang pejuang yang perkasa itu.
And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: [is not this] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 Ketiga puluh perwira yang termasyhur itu dinamakan juga "Tridasawira". Mereka dipimpin oleh Abisai adik Yoab, anak Zeruya. Pernah ia menewaskan tiga ratus orang dengan tombaknya. Karena itu ia menjadi termasyhur. Tetapi dia tidak sehebat "Triwira".
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, [and] slew [them], and had the name among three.
Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the [first] three.
20 Seorang perwira termasyhur yang lain ialah Benaya anak Yoyada orang Kabzeel. Ia sangat berani. Dua orang pahlawan besar dari Moab telah dibunuhnya. Pernah pada suatu hari bersalju, dia masuk ke dalam sebuah lubang, lalu membunuh seekor singa di situ.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 Dia pernah juga membunuh seorang Mesir, yang gagah dan bersenjatakan tombak. Benaya menghadapinya hanya dengan tongkat. Tombak yang ada di tangan orang Mesir itu direbutnya lalu dipakainya untuk membunuh orang itu.
And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Itulah jasa-jasa Benaya, seorang dari "Tridasawira".
These [things] did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23 Dalam kelompok itu Benayalah yang terkemuka, tetapi dia tidak sehebat "Triwira". Daud mengangkat dia menjadi kepala pengawal pribadinya.
He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the [first] three. And David set him over his guard.
24 Anggota-anggota lain dari "Tridasawira" ialah: Asael adik Yoab, Elhanan anak Dodo orang Betlehem, Sama dan Elika orang Harod, Heles orang Palti, Ira anak Ikes orang Tekoa, Abiezer orang Anatot, Mebunai orang Husa, Zalmon orang Ahohi, Maharai orang Netofa, Heleb anak Baana orang Netofa, Itai anak Ribai orang Gibea di wilayah suku Benyamin, Benaya orang Piraton, Hidai orang lembah-lembah Gaas, Abialbon orang Araba, Azmawet orang Bahurim, Elyahba orang Saalbon, Anak-anak Yasyen, Yonatan, Sama orang Harari, Ahiam anak Sarar orang Harari, Elifelet anak Ahasbai orang Maakha, Eliam anak Ahitofel orang Gilo, Hezrai orang Karmel, Paerai orang Arbi, Yigal anak Natan orang Zoba, Bani orang Gad, Zelek orang Amon, Naharai orang Beerot, pembawa senjata Yoab, Ira dan Gareb orang Yetri, Uria orang Het. Semuanya tiga puluh tujuh orang prajurit yang termasyhur.
Asahel the brother of Joab [was] one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem,
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
