1 Ania ngarud iti ibagatayo a natakkuatan ni Abraham, nga ammaentayo segun iti lasag?
What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?
2 Ta no napalinteg ni Abraham babaen dagiti ar-aramid, addaan koma isuna iti rason nga agpasindayag, ngem saan nga iti sangoanan ti Dios.
For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not towards God.
3 Ta ania iti ibagbaga ti Nasantoan a Surat? “Pinati ni Abraham ti Dios, ket naibilang kenkuana daytoy a kas kinalinteg.”
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
4 Ita para kenkuana nga agtrabtrabaho, saan a naibilang a kas parabur ti tangdan, ngem kas nateggedan.
Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.
5 Ngem para kenkuana a saan nga agtrabtrabaho ngem ketdi mamati iti daydiay mangpalpalinteg iti saan a nadiosan, naibilang ti pammatina a kas kinalinteg.
But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
6 Ibagbaga met ni David ti kinagasat ti tao nga ibilbilang ti Dios a nalinteg uray awan ti ar-aramidna.
Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
7 Kinunana, “Nagasat dagiti napakawan dagiti basbasolda, ken nakalluban dagiti basbasolda.
“Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
8 Nagasat ti tao a saanto nga ibilang ti Apo ti basolna.”
Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”
9 Naibalikas laeng kadi ngarud daytoy a bendision kadagiti adda iti pannakakugit, wenno kasta met kadagiti awan iti pannakakugit? Ta ibagatayo, “Pammati ti nakaibilang kenni Abraham iti kinalinteg.”
Is this blessing then pronounced only on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.
10 Isu a kasano a naibilang daytoy? Idi adda ni Abraham iti pannakakugit wenno idi awan iti pannakakugit? Saan nga iti pannakakugit ngem iti saan a pannakakugit.
How then was it counted? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 Inawat ni Abraham ti pagilasinan ti pannakakugit. Daytoy ket selyo iti kinalinteg ti pammati a natagikuanan idi awan pay iti pannakakugit. Ti nagbanagan daytoy a pagilasinan ket nagbalin isuna nga ama dagiti amin a mamati, uray pay no addada iti saan a pannakakugit. Kayat a sawen a maibilangto ti kinalinteg para kadakuada.
He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they might be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might also be accounted to them.
12 Kayat pay a sawen a nagbalin ni Abraham nga ama ti pannakakugit para kadagiti umay a saan laeng a kadagiti nagtaud iti pannakakugit, ngem kasta met kadagiti sumurot kadagiti addang ni amatayo nga Abraham. Ket daytoy ti pammati nga adda kenkuana idi awan pay iti pannakakugit.
He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.
13 Ta saan a babaen iti linteg a naited ti kari kenni Abraham ken kadagiti kaputotanna, daytoy a kari nga agbalindanto a tagatawid ti lubong. Ngem ketdi, babaen iti kinalinteg ti pammati.
For the promise to Abraham and to his offspring that he would be heir of the world wasn’t through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 Ta no tagatawid dagiti adda iti linteg, nagbalinen nga awan serserbi ti pammati, ken awan metten ti nagmamaayan ti kari.
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.
15 Ta iyeg ti linteg ti pungtot, ngem no sadino ti awan linteg, awan met ti saan a panagtulnog.
For the law produces wrath; for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.
16 Ta gapu iti daytoy, mapasamak daytoy babaen iti pammati, tapno mapasamak koma daytoy babaen iti parabur. Kas pagbanaganna, awan duadua iti kari para kadagiti amin a kaputotan. Ket karaman dagitoy a kaputotan saan laeng dagiti makaaammo ti linteg, ngem kasta met dagiti nagtaud iti pammati ni Abraham. Ta isuna ti Amatayo amin,
For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
17 a kas naisurat, “Inaramidka nga ama iti adu a pagilian.” Adda ni Abraham iti presensiana a nagtalkanna, dayta ti Dios, a mangmangted iti biag kadagiti natay ken mangpaadda kadagiti banbanag nga awan.
As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.
18 Uray pay adda dagiti saan a nasayaat a paspasamak, sitatalged a nagtalek ni Abraham iti Dios para iti masakbayan. Isu a nagbalin isuna nga Ama ti adu a pagilian, segun iti naibaga, “... Kas met kadagiti kaputotamto.”
Against hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, “So will your offspring be.”
19 Saan isuna a nakapuy iti pammati. Binigbig ni Abraham a natayen ti bagina—agarup sangagasut ti tawenna. Binigbigna met ti kinaawan serserbi ti aanakan ni Sarah.
Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
20 Ngem gapu iti kari ti Dios, saan a nagsarimadeng iti saan a panamati ni Abraham. Ngem ketdi, napapigsa iti pammatina ken nangted iti pammadayaw iti Dios.
Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God,
21 Siaanay a naallukoy isuna a kabaelanna met nga ileppas ti inkari iti Dios.
and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.
22 Naibilang met ngarud kenkuana daytoy a kas kinalinteg.
Therefore it also was “credited to him for righteousness.”
23 Ita, saan laeng a naisurat daytoy para iti pagsayaatanna, naibilang daytoy para kenkuana.
Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone,
24 Naisurat met daytoy a para kadatayo, nga imbilang iti Dios a nalinteg, datayo a mamati kenkuana a nangpagungar kenni Jesus nga Apotayo manipud patay.
but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Yeshua our Lord from the dead,
25 Daytoy ti naiyawat a para kadagiti basbasoltayo ken napagungar para iti pannakapalintegtayo.
who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
