Roma 13

1 Agtulnog koma ti tunggal kararua kadagiti nangangato a turay, gapu ta awan iti turay malaksid no nagtaud iti Dios. Ken dagiti turay a napaadda ket dinutokan ti Dios.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Ngarud siasinoman a sumukir iti dayta a turay ket salsalungasingena ti bilin ti Dios; ken dagiti mangsalungasing iti daytoy ket awatendanto ti dusa kadagiti bagida.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 Ta saan a pagbutngan dagiti naimbag nga aramid dagiti agtuturay, ngem kadagiti dakes nga aramid. Tartarigagayanyo kadi ti saan nga agbuteng iti turay? Aramidenyo iti nasayaat, ket dayawendakayonto gapu iti daytoy.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 Gapu ta isuna ket adipen ti Dios kadakayo para iti pagsayaatan. Ngem no aramidenyo iti dakes, agbutengkayo; gapu ta saanna nga alaen ti kampilan nga awan ti makagapu. Gapu ta adipen ti Dios isuna, a mangikanawa ti pungtot iti agar-aramid iti dakes.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Masapul nga agtulnogkayo ngarud, saan laeng a gapu iti pungtot, ngem gapu met iti konsensia.

Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 Agbaybayadkayo met kadagiti buis gapu iti daytoy. Ta ad-adipen ti Dios dagiti mangiturturay, nga agtultuloy nga agar-aramid iti daytoy a banag.

For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Bayadanyo ti tunggal maysa ti rumbeng a bayadan kadakuada: buis para kadagiti rumbeng a pagbayadan ti buis; bayad para kadagiti rumbeng a pagbayadan ti bayad; pagbutngan ti rumbeng a pagbutngan; padayawan ti rumbeng a padayawan.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Awan koma ti pakautanganyo iti uray ania a banag, malaksid iti panagiinnayatyo. Gapu ta ti mangay-ayat iti kaarruba ket natungpalna ti linteg.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 Ta, “Saanka a makikamalala, saanka a pumatay, saanka nga agtakaw, saanka nga umapal,” ken no adda pay iti aniaman a bilin, nadakamaten iti daytoy maymaysa a bilin: “Ayatenyo ti kaarrubayo kas panagayatyo iti bagiyo.”

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Saan a dangran ti ayat ti kaarruba ti maysa a tao. Ngarud, ti ayat ti nakatungpalan ti linteg.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.

11 Gapu iti daytoy, ammoyo ti tiempo, a tiempon ti panagriingyo iti pannaturog. Gapu ta as-asidegen ita ti pannakaisalakantayo ngem idi damo a namatitayo.

And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 Malmalpasen ti rabii, ket umas-asidegen ti aldaw. Saantayo ngaruden nga aramiden dagiti aramid ti kinasipnget, ken ikawestayo ti igam ti lawag.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Magnatayo nga addaan iti umno a wagas, a kas iti aldaw, saan nga iti nalabes a panagramrambak wenno panagbarbartek. Ken saantayo a magna iti naderrep wenno saan a matengngel a gartem, ken saan nga iti apa wenno imon.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 Ngem ikawesyo ketdi ni Apo Jesu-Cristo, ken saanyo a pagustoan ti kasapulan iti lasag, a para kadagiti gartemna.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof.]
