1 Ket nagtakder ti dragon iti kadaratan iti igid ti baybay. Ket adda nakitak a narungsot nga animal a limmung-aw manipud iti baybay. Addaan isuna iti sangapulo a sara ken pito nga ulo. Kadagiti sarana ket adda sangapulo a korona ken kadagiti ulona ket adda nagnagan a pananglais iti Dios.
Then I saw a beast with ten horns and seven heads rising out of the sea. There were ten royal crowns on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.
2 Daytoy a nakitak a narungsot nga animal ket kasla leopardo ken dagiti sakana ket kasla kadagiti saka iti oso, ken ti ngiwatna ket kasla ngiwat ti leon. Inted ti dragon ti pannakabalinna kenkuana, ken ti tronona, ken ti naindaklan a turayna a mangituray.
The beast I saw was like a leopard, with the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
3 Kasla adda sugat iti maysa kadagiti ulo ti narungsot nga animal a mabalin koma a nakaigapuan iti pannakatayna. Ngem dayta a sugat ket naimbaganen, ket nagsiddaaw ti sibubukel a daga ken sinurotda ti narungsot nga animal. Nagdaydayawda met iti dragon, ta intedna ti turayna iti narungsot nga animal.
One of the heads of the beast appeared to be mortally wounded. But the mortal wound was healed, and the whole world marveled and followed the beast.
4 Dinaydayawda met ti narungsot nga animal, ket saanda a nagsaradeng a nangibagbaga, “Siasino iti kas iti narungsot nga animal?” ken “Siasino ti makabael a makiranget kenkuana?
They worshiped the dragon who had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can wage war against it?”
5 Naikkan ti narungsot nga animal iti ngiwat a makapagsao kadagiti sasao a napalangguad ken pananglais. Napalubosan isuna a mangipakat iti kinaturayna iti las-ud iti uppat a pulo ket dua a bulan.
The beast was given a mouth to speak arrogant and blasphemous words, and authority to act for 42 months.
6 Nagsao ngarud ti narungsot kadagiti sasao a pananglais maibusor iti Dios, linalaisna ti nagan ti Dios, ti disso a paggigiananna, ken dagidiay agnaed idiay langit.
And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to slander His name and His tabernacle—those who dwell in heaven.
7 Napalubosan ti narungsot nga animal a manggubat kadagiti namati ken mangparmek kadakuada. Kasta met a naikkan isuna iti turay kadagiti amin a tribu, tattao, pagsasao, ken pagilian.
Then the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.
8 Agdayawto kenkuana dagiti amin nga agnanaed iti daga, ti tunggal maysa a saan a naisurat ti naganna iti libro ti biag a kukua ti Kordero a napapatay, sipud pay iti pannakaparsua ti lubong.
And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain.
9 No addaman ti addaan lapayag, dumngeg koma.
He who has an ear, let him hear:
10 No addaman ti maipan iti pannakatiliw, mapanto isuna iti pannakatiliw. No addaman iti mapapatay iti kampilan, mapapatayto isuna babaen iti kampilan. Adtoy ti ayab para iti naanus a panagibtur ken pammati para kadagiti nasantoan.
“If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he will go; if anyone is to die by the sword, by the sword he must be killed.” Here is a call for the perseverance and faith of the saints.
11 Ket adda nakitak a sabali pay a narungsot nga animal a rumrummuar manipud iti daga. Addaan isuna iti dua a sara a kas iti kordero ken nagsao a kasla dragon.
Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. This beast had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon.
12 Impakatna ti amin a kinaturay ti immuna a narungsot nga animal iti imatang ti immuna a narungsot nga animal, ken pinagrukbabna ti lubong ken dagiti agnanaed iti rabaw daytoy iti narungsot nga animal – nga isu daydiay addaan iti makapatay a sugat a naimbaganen.
And this beast exercised all the authority of the first beast and caused the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose mortal wound had been healed.
13 Nagaramid isuna kadagiti naindaklan a milagro, nga uray nala pinagtinnag iti apuy, manipud langit, ditoy daga iti sangoanan dagiti tattao,
And the second beast performed great signs to cause even fire from heaven to come down to earth in the presence of the people.
14 ken babaen kadagiti pagilasinan a naipalubos nga aramidenna, inalillawna dagiti agnanaed iti rabaw ti daga, imbagana kadakuada a mangaramidda iti ladawan kas pammadayaw iti narungsot nga animal a nasugat babaen iti kampilan, ngem sibibiag pay laeng.
Because of the signs it was given to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived those who dwell on the earth, telling them to make an image to the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet had lived.
15 Napalubosan isuna a mangted iti anges iti ladawan ti narungsot nga animal tapno mabalin pay a makapagsao ti ladawan ken papatayenna amin nga agtukiad nga agdayaw kenkuana.
The second beast was permitted to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship it to be killed.
16 Pinilitna met ti amin, dagiti nanumo ken natan-ok, dagiti nabaknang ken napanglaw, dagiti nawaya ken tagabu, nga awatenda ti marka iti makannawan nga ima wenno iti mugingda.
And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead,
17 Awanto ti siasinoman a makagatang wenno makapaglako malaksid no adda kenkuana ti marka ti narungsot nga animal, dayta ket ti numero a mangibagbagi iti naganna.
so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18 Kasapulan ditoy ti kinasirib. No addaman ti addaan iti kapanunotan, pattapataenna koma ti numero ti narungsot nga animal. Ta daytoy ket numero ti maysa a tao. Ti numerona ket 666.
Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.
