Dagiti Proverbio 6
1 Anakko, no nangilasinka iti kuartam kas pammatalged iti utang ti kaarrubam, no nagkarika para iti utang ti maysa a tao a saanmo nga am-ammo,
[My] son, if you become surety for your friend, you shall deliver your hand to an enemy.
2 nangipakatka ngarud iti palab-og ti bagim babaen iti karim, ket natiliwka babaen kadagiti sasaom.
For a man's own lips become a strong snare to him, and he is caught with the lips of his own mouth.
3 Iti kasta ngarud, anakko, aramidem daytoy ket isalakanmo ti bagim, ta addaka iti babaen ti asi ti kaarrubam. Mapanmo ipakumbaba ti bagim ket ipakaasim iti kaarrubam a wayawayaannaka.
[My] son, do what I command you, and deliver yourself; for on your friend's account you are come into the power of evil [men]: faint not, but stir up even your friend for whom you are become surety.
4 Saanmo nga iridridep dagiti matam ken saanmo pagkidemen dagiti kalub ti matam.
Give not sleep to your eyes, nor slumber with your eyelids;
5 Isalakanmo ti bagim a kas iti ugsa manipud iti ima ti mangnganup, kas iti billit manipud iti ima ti sumisilo.
that you may deliver yourself as a doe out of the toils, and as a bird out of a snare.
6 Kitaem ti kuton, sika a sadut a tao, utobem dagiti wagasna ket agmasiribka.
Go to the ant, O sluggard; and see, and emulate his ways, and become wiser than he.
7 Awan ti mangidadaulo iti daytoy, opisial wenno turay,
For whereas he has no husbandry, nor any one to compel him, and is under no master,
8 ngem mangisagsagana daytoy iti taraon iti kalgaw, ken kabayatan ti panagapit ket mangiduldulin daytoy iti kanennanto.
he prepares food for himself in the summer, and lays by abundant store in harvest. Or go to the bee, and learn how diligent she is, and how earnestly she is engaged in her work; whose labors kings and private men use for health, and she is desired and respected by all: though weak in body, she is advanced by honouring wisdom.
9 Kasano pay aya a kabayag ti pannaturogmo, sika sadut a tao? Kaanokanto pay a mariing manipud iti pannaturogmo?
How long will you lie, O sluggard? and when will you awake out of sleep?
10 “Iturogko pay bassit, iridepko laeng iti mabiit, idalikepkepko pay biit”-
You sleep a little, and you rest a little, and you slumber a short [time], and you fold your arms over your breast a little.
11 ket umayto ti kinakurapaymo a kas iti agtatakaw ket dagiti kasapulam a kasla nakaarmas a suldado.
Then poverty comes upon you as an evil traveller, and lack as a swift courier: but if you be diligent, your harvest shall arrive as a fountain, and poverty shall flee away as a bad courier.
12 Ti awan pategna a tao - ti nadangkes a tao - ket agbibiag babaen iti kinaulbodna,
A foolish man and a transgressor goes in ways that are not good.
13 a kumanidday, sumanenyas babaen kadagiti sakana, ken agitudo-tudo babaen kadagiti ramayna.
And the same winks with the eye, and makes a sign with his foot, and teaches with the beckonings of his fingers.
14 Iti pusona ket agpangpanggep isuna iti dakes babaen iti panangallilaw; kanayon isuna a mangparnuay iti riri.
[His] perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city.
15 Ngarud, apagdarikmatto a kamaten isuna ti pannakadidigrana; apagkanitonto a madadael isuna ket saanen nga umimbag.
Therefore his destruction shall come suddenly; overthrow and irretrievable ruin.
16 Adda innem a banag a kagurgura ni Yahweh, adda pito a makarimon kenkuana:
For he rejoices in all things which God hates, and he is ruined by reason of impurity of soul.
17 Dagiti mata ti napalangguad a tao, dila nga agul-ulbod, im-ima a mangpaspasayasay iti dara dagiti inosente a tattao,
The eye of the haughty, a tongue unjust, hands shedding the blood of the just;
18 puso a mangparpartuat kadagiti dakes a panggep, saksaka a napartak a tumaray a mapan agaramid iti dakes,
and a heart devising evil thoughts, and feet hastening to do evil, —[are hateful to God].
19 saksi a mangibagbaga kadagiti inuulbod, ken ti agparparnuay iti riri kadagiti agkakabsat.
An unjust witness kindles falsehoods, and brings on quarrels between brethren.
20 Anakko, tungpalem ti bilin ti amam, ken saanmo a baybay-an ti sursuro ti inam.
[My] son, keep the laws of your father, and reject not the ordinances of your mother:
21 Arigna nga igaluttmo a kanayon dagitoy iti pusom; arigna nga igalutmo dagitoy iti tengngedmo.
but bind them upon your soul continually, and hang them as a chain about your neck.
22 Tunggal magnaka, idalandaka; tunggal maturogka, bantayandaka; ken tunggal agriingka, isurodaka.
Whenever you walk, lead this along and let it be with you; that it may talk with you when you wake.
23 Ta dagiti bilbilin ket arigna ti maysa a pagsilawan, ken ti panangisuro ket arigna ti maysa a silaw; dagiti panangilinteg ti pannakadisiplina ket isu ti dalan ti panagbiag.
For the commandment of the law is a lamp and a light; a way of life; reproof also and correction:
24 Iyadayonaka daytoy manipud iti narugit a babai, manipud iti nalamuyot a sasao ti mannakimalala.
to keep you continually from a married woman, and from the calumny of a strange tongue.
25 Saanmo a paggarteman iti pusom ti pintasna, ken saanmo nga itulok a tengngelennaka babaen kadagiti kurimatmatna.
Let not the desire of beauty overcome you, neither be you caught by your eyes, neither be captivated with her eyelids.
26 Mabalin nga aggatad iti maysa a tinapay ti bayad ti pannakikaidda iti maysa a balangkantis, ngem ti asawa ti dadduma ket mabalin a ti kakaisuna a biagmo ti gatadna.
For the value of a harlot is as much as of one loaf; and a woman hunts for the precious souls of men.
27 Mabalin aya met a sakruyen ti maysa a tao ti apuy a saan a mapuoran dagiti pagan-anayna?
Shall any one bind fire in his bosom, and not burn his garments?
28 Mabalin aya met a magna ti maysa a tao iti rabaw dagiti beggang a saan a masinit dagiti sakana?
or will any one walk on coals of fire, and not burn his feet?
29 Kasta ngarud ti lalaki a makikakaidda iti asawa ti kaarrubana; sigurado a madusa ti makikakaidda kenkuana.
So is he that goes in to a married woman; he shall not be held guiltless, neither any one that touches her.
30 Saan nga umsien dagiti tattao ti agtatakaw no nagtakaw isuna tapno mapnek ti pagkasapulanna gapu iti bisinna.
It is not to be wondered at if one should be taken stealing, for he steals that when hungry he may satisfy his soul:
31 Ngem no matiliw isuna, bayadannanto iti maminpito ti tinakawna; masapul nga itedna amin nga adda gatadna a banag iti uneg ti balayna.
but if he should be taken, he shall repay sevenfold, and shall deliver himself by giving all his goods.
32 Awan pannakaawat ti tao a makikamkamalala; ti tao a mangar-aramid iti daytoy ket daddadaelenna ti bagina.
But the adulterer through lack of sense procures destruction to his soul.
33 Sugsugat ken pannakaibabain ti maikari kenkuana, ken saanto a mapunas ti pannakaibabainna.
He endures both pain and disgrace, and his reproach shall never be wiped off.
34 Ta ti imon ket pagbalinenna a nauyong ti maysa a lalaki; saan isuna a mangipakita iti asi inton agibales isuna.
For the soul of her husband is full of jealousy: he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
35 Saanto isuna nga umawat iti bayad, ken saan isuna a mapasuksukan, uray no ikkam isuna iti adu a sagut.
He will not forego [his] enmity for any ransom: neither will he be reconciled for many gifts.
