< Dagiti Proverbio 4 >
1 Annakko, denggenyo ti annuroten ti maysa nga ama, ken ipangagyo tapno maammoanyo ti kayat a sawen ti pannakaawat.
Sh'ma ·Hear obey·, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;
2 Ik-ikkankayo iti nasasayaat a sursuro; saanyo a laksiden ti pannursurok.
for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my Torah ·Teaching·.
3 Idi maysaak nga ubing ti amak, ti nalupoy ken kakaisuna nga anak ti inak,
For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.
4 sinurwannak ket kinunana kaniak, “Ipapusom koma dagiti sasaok: tungpalem dagiti bilinko ket agbiagka.
He taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words. Keep my mitzvot ·instructions·, and live.
5 Gun-odem ti kinasirib ken pannakaawat; saanmo a lipaten ken saanmo a laksiden dagiti sasaok;
Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, neither swerve from the words of my mouth.
6 saanmo a panpanawan ti kinasirib ket bantayannakanto; ayatem isuna ket saluadannakanto.
Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. 'Ahav ·Affectionately love· her, and she will keep you.
7 Ti kinasirib ti kapapatgan a banag, isu a gun-odem ti kinasirib ket busbusem dagiti amin a kukuam tapno maalam ti pannakaawat.
Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
8 Ipategmo ti kinasirib ket itag-aynaka; padayawannaka inton arakupem isuna.
Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her.
9 Mangikabil isuna iti balangat ti pammadayaw dita ulom; ikkannaka iti napintas a korona.”
She will give to your head a garland of chen ·grace·. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”
10 Dumngegka anakko, ken ipangagmo dagiti sasaok, ket maaddaankanto iti adu a tawen iti panagbiagmo.
Sh'ma ·Hear obey·, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.
11 Iturturongka iti dalan ti kinasirib; idaldalanka kadagiti nalinteg a pagnaan.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.
12 Inton magnaka, awanto ti agserra iti dalanmo ket no agtarayka, saankanto a maitublak.
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
13 Petpetam ti disiplina, saanmo nga ib-ibbatan; bantayam, ta isu ti biagmo.
Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.
14 Saanmo a suroten ti wagas dagiti nadangkes ken saanmo nga ar-aramiden ti wagas dagiti agar-aramid iti dakes.
Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.
15 Liklikam daytoy, saanka a mapmapan iti daytoy; liklikam daytoy ket magnaka iti sabali a dalan.
Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.
16 Ta saanda a makaturog agingga a makaaramidda iti dakes ken saanda a makaturog agingga nga adda maipatublakda.
For they don’t sleep, unless they do evil. Their sleep is taken away, unless they make someone fall.
17 Ta kankanenda ti tinapay ti kinadangkes ken in-inumenda ti arak ti kinaranggas.
For they eat the bread of ethical wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 Ngem ti dalan ti agar-aramid iti umno ket kas iti panagbannawag a lumawlawag; rumanraniag agingga nga umay ti naan-anay a kinaraniag ti aldaw.
But the path of the upright is like the dawning light, that shines more and more until the perfect day.
19 Ti dalan dagiti nadangkes ket kasla sipnget - saanda nga ammo no ania iti pakaitibtibkulanda.
The way of the wicked is like darkness. They don’t know what they stumble over.
20 Anakko, ipangagmo dagiti sasaok; denggem dagiti ibagbagak.
My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings.
21 Saanmo nga ik-ikkaten kadagitoy ti panagkitam; salimetmetam dagitoy dita pusom.
Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart.
22 Ta dagiti sasaok ket biag kadagiti mangsapul kadagitoy ken salun-at iti entero a bagida.
For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.
23 Pagtalinaedem a natalged ti pusom ken ikagumaam daytoy a bantayan, ta manipud iti daytoy ket agayus ti ubbog ti biag.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.
24 Ikkatem ti panagul-ulbodmo ken ibellengmo dagiti dakes a panagsarsaritam.
Put away from yourself a perverse mouth. Put corrupt lips far from you.
25 Arigna nga ikitam a deretso dagiti matam ken iti sangoanam laeng ti kitkitam.
Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Agaramidka iti nasimpa a pagnaan dagiti sakam; ket natalgedto dagiti amin a dalanmo.
Make the path of your feet level. Let all of your ways be established.
27 Saanka a sumiasi a mapan iti kannawan wenno kannigid; iyadayom ti sakam iti dakes.
Don’t turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.
